By THE SPIRIT James wrote in chapter 1:
21 Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.
22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror;
24 for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was.
25 But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.
26 If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one’s religion is useless
Aligning ourselves in word and action with FATHER’S directives is crucial to our future. There are many hearers of the Word who populate the pews, watch services on TV, and read the teachings found in various formats. Hearing alone does not fulfill our mandate and purpose. Looking across the Jordan river at the Promised Land from a distance did not fulfill the promise made to the Israelites. We must act on HIS Word as well.
There are those who immerse themselves in the vanity of the world. They spend more time contemplating topics which are of no lasting importance at the risk of becoming forgetful hearers. It is then their Love grows cold. They forget the benefits of walking according to FATHER’S Word which in turns causes death and destruction to set in. When they finally wake up their life is in shambles. Their confession begins to align itself with the world and their thinking becomes vain or useless. Their physical bodies respond accordingly.
In Titus chapter 3 THE SPIRIT instructs us:
8 This is a trustworthy statement; and concerning these things I want you to speak confidently, so that those who have believed God will be careful to engage in good deeds. These things are good and profitable for men.
9 But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and strife and disputes about the Law, for they are unprofitable and worthless.
10 Reject a factious man after a first and second warning,
11 knowing that such a man is perverted and is sinning, being self-condemned.
Let us strengthen ourselves by engaging ourselves in good deeds or works. We need to confirm the Word with our actions for those actions cause the roots to grow deeper strengthening our resolve when we become challenged by the world. The world’s vanity will attempt to root up the Word out of our inner being and we must not let ourselves be swayed by the latest facet of man’s sensual wisdom. The perversity in the world increases day by day and the politicians are more than happy to accommodate the latest popular fad. On the other hand we must continue our ascent into the fullness of HIS Love and Divine Intent so that we can be a part of bringing forth the Kingdom on earth.
Let HIS Kingdom fully dwell in our “earth” and then it will move outward toward others. Let there be no worldly vanity found among us.
