THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY is warning all of creation!
IT is written by The Holy Spirit in Jonah chapter 1:
1 One day YAHWEH revealed to Jonah, Amittai’s son, this message:
2 “Arise! Leave at once for the great city of Nineveh and proclaim judgment against her, for the wickedness of her people is staring Me in the Face.”
How would you like to be included in such judgment? Why is the weather now producing such extremes across the U.S.? Earlier this week, winds in N.W. Oklahoma were clocked at 103 mph! There have been many reports of 80+ mph straight winds throughout the state. In effect, the winds equal a category 1 hurricane. I can attest that the weather is the most extreme that I have seen in my adult life.
The book of Jonah presents Nineveh as one of the greatest and most significant cities of the ancient world. It was the capital of the Neo-Assyrian Empire and is portrayed as both extraordinarily powerful and deeply wicked. Yet it also became the setting for one of the greatest examples of national repentance recorded in Scripture.
Jonah opens with God’s command:
“Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city…”
The word “great” is repeated several times throughout the book. It refers to more than just size.
Nineveh was:
- Politically powerful
- Economically wealthy
- Militarily feared
- Culturally influential
- Spiritually corrupt
It was one of the most important cities in the ancient Near East. Does this sound like the U.S. today?
Why was Nineveh so wicked?
God said:
“Their wickedness has come up before Me.”
The Assyrians were infamous for:
- Extreme violence
- Cruel treatment of conquered peoples
- Torture
- Public executions
- Idolatry
- Pride
- Oppression
How does the rest of the world view the U.S. now?
How should this country respond?
The city’s repentance
The people:
- Believed God.
- Proclaimed a fast.
- Wore sackcloth as a sign of humility.
- Turned from violence.
- Sought God’s mercy.
Even the king:
- Left his throne.
- Removed his royal robes.
- Covered himself with sackcloth.
- Sat in ashes.
- Called the entire city to repent.
This is one of the few examples in Scripture where an entire city is described as responding to God’s warning.
God’s response
When God saw their repentance:
“…God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way…”
He relented from the announced judgment.
This does not mean God changed His character or acted inconsistently. Rather, the judgment He warned of was conditional: when the people genuinely repented, He showed mercy instead of bringing the announced destruction.
This reveals two Truths about God:
- He is perfectly Holy and judges evil.
- He is also compassionate and eager to forgive those who sincerely repent.
Are you aware of the “Black Star” heading to the earth?
Scientist and inventor Weston Warren is back (to usawatchdog.com) with another update on the so-called Black Star or electromagnetic anomaly that entered our solar system more than two decades ago. It’s slow moving, it’s an event that only happens about every 4,000 years, and it causes earth changes and destruction. USAW and Warren have been following the progression of the Black Star since April 2025. The Black Star will be the closest it has been to Earth in 4,000 years, but it will not hit Earth. Warren has predicted the Black Star will detonate many earthquakes and volcanoes worldwide in 2026. So far, he’s been correct with numerous earthquakes and volcanos being tracked around the world. Recently, in the US, there are quakes and tremors in the Pacific Northwest, Oklahoma and a 6.1 quake near Cuba that was felt all across Florida. Is this fulfilling the prediction Jesus made in Matt 24:7 when he predicted that in the “Last Days,” you would see “earthquakes in divers places”?
