Sanctified inspiration is inspiration that comes from the Holy Spirit to a heart that is being sanctified (set apart for God and growing in Holiness). It is distinct from natural creativity, emotion, or enthusiasm because its source, purpose, and fruit are centered on God.

It can be understood by combining two Biblical Truths:

• Sanctification – God’s ongoing work of making believers Holy.

Jesus spoke in John chapter 17:

17 “Your Word is Truth! So make them Holy by the Truth.”

• Inspiration – the Holy Spirit’s influence that moves a person to think, speak, write, or act according to God’s will.

Inspiration is different than revelation.  These terms are related but not identical.

Revelation is God unveiling Truth that was previously hidden.

For example:

• Peter’s confession that Jesus is the Christ (Matthew 16:16–17).
• Paul’s understanding of the mystery of the Church (Ephesians 3:3–6).

Inspiration is the Spirit’s enabling or prompting to communicate or act upon Truth.

The prophets experienced both:

• God revealed His message.
• God inspired them to proclaim or write it faithfully.

For believers today, we should not expect new revelation that adds to Scripture, but we do seek the Spirit’s guidance, Wisdom, and empowerment to understand and apply God’s revealed Word.

What makes inspiration “sanctified”? 

1. It originates with God

James says:

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above…” (James 1:17)

Sanctified inspiration begins with the Holy Spirit rather than merely human imagination.

2. It flows through a consecrated life

Romans 12:1–2 teaches believers to present themselves as living sacrifices and to be transformed by the renewing of their minds.

As the mind is renewed:

• selfish ambitions diminish,
• discernment grows,
• God’s priorities become clearer.

This creates an environment where the Spirit’s leading is more readily recognized.

3. It agrees with Scripture

The Holy Spirit never contradicts what He has already revealed in the Bible.

Paul wrote:

“All Scripture is breathed out by God…” (2 Timothy 3:16, ESV)

Any inspiration that conflicts with Scripture should be rejected.

4. It produces Christlike fruit

Jesus taught:

“You will recognize them by their fruits.” (Matthew 7:16)

Sanctified inspiration tends to produce:

• Love,
• humility,
• obedience,
• Truthfulness,
• peace,
• service,
• and a greater desire to glorify Christ.

If an “inspiration” consistently promotes pride, division, or disobedience, it should be questioned.

Biblical examples

Bezalel

In Exodus 31:1–5, God filled Bezalel with His Spirit to design and craft the furnishings of the tabernacle.  His artistic ability became an act of worship because it was directed by God.

David

Many of David’s psalms express inspired praise, lament, repentance, and hope. His poetry reflects both his personal experience and the Spirit’s work, ultimately pointing to God’s Character and, in many cases, foreshadowing the Messiah.

Paul

Paul’s missionary journeys, letters, and encouragement to churches demonstrate a life led by the Spirit. While his apostolic writings are uniquely inspired as Scripture, his example also shows dependence on the Spirit in ministry.

How can believers cultivate sanctified inspiration?

Scripture points to several habits:

• Spend time in God’s Word.
• Pray for Wisdom and discernment (James 1:5).
• Walk in obedience to what God has already shown you.
• Stay sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s conviction.
• Test impressions against Scripture.
• Seek counsel from mature believers when appropriate.
• Keep your motive centered on glorifying Christ rather than yourself.

The relationship between sanctified inspiration and spiritual gifts

The Holy Spirit may inspire believers as they exercise gifts such as:

• teaching,
• encouragement,
• Wisdom,
• prophecy (under Biblical testing and discernment),
• mercy,
• leadership,
• evangelism.

In each case, the purpose is to build up the body of Christ and honor God, not to draw attention to the individual.

Essentially, sanctified inspiration is the Holy Spirit’s empowering influence upon a believer whose life is being set apart for God, enabling that person to think, speak, create, serve, or lead in ways that faithfully reflect God’s Truth, glorify Christ, and edify others.

Sanctified revelation asks, “What truth is God helping me understand?” whereas sanctified inspiration asks, “How is God leading me to express, apply, or live out that Truth?”

Together, they form a healthy pattern of Christian growth: God illuminates His Word by the Spirit, and that illumination inspires a life of faithful obedience and service.

Do you want your soul to prosper?

The Beloved Disciple wrote by The Holy Spirit in 3^rd John 1:

2 Beloved friend, I pray that you are prospering in every way and that you continually enjoy good health, just as your soul is prospering.

3 I was filled with joy and delight when the brothers arrived and informed me of your faithfulness to the Truth. They told me how you live continually in the Truth of Christ.

The key is not merely knowing Truth intellectually. John says the Truth was “in” Gaius, and Gaius “walked” in the Truth.

What is the soul?

Biblically, the soul is understood as involving your mind, will, and emotions:

• Mind — what you think and believe
• Will — what you choose
• Emotions — how you respond inwardly

Your spirit may be born again, but your mind still needs renewing:

Paul wrote by The Holy Spirit in Romans chapter 12:

1 Beloved friends, what should be our proper response to God’s marvelous mercies? To surrender yourselves to God to be His Sacred, living sacrifices. And live in Holiness, experiencing all that delights His Heart. For this becomes your genuine expression of worship.

2 Stop imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around you, but be inwardly transformed by the Holy Spirit through a total reformation of how you think. This will empower you to discern God’s will as you live a beautiful Life, satisfying and perfect in His Eyes.

This is where Truth causes the soul to prosper.

1. Truth corrects what you believe

Many problems in the soul begin with believing something that is not true.

A person may believe:

• “God has abandoned me.”
• “My past defines me.”
• “I have no hope.”
• “I must live in fear.”
• “I cannot forgive.”
• “God’s promises are for someone else.”

When God’s Truth enters the mind, it confronts these false beliefs.

Jesus spoke in John chapter 8:

32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

Bondage often survives through deception. Freedom grows as Truth is received, believed, and obeyed.

2. Truth renews the mind

Your life is strongly influenced by your thought patterns.

“As he thinketh in his heart, so is he.” — Proverbs 23:7

The world, painful experiences, fear, other people, and our own flesh can establish unhealthy patterns of thinking. The Word of God replaces those patterns with God’s perspective.

Old thinking: “I am alone.”
Truth: “I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” — Hebrews 13:5

Old thinking: “I must be controlled by fear.”
Truth: “God hath not given us the spirit of fear.” — 2 Timothy 1:7

Old thinking: “I cannot overcome.”
Truth: “We are more than conquerors through Him that Loved us.” — Romans 8:37

As Truth changes your thinking, it begins changing your responses and decisions.

3. Truth brings order to the emotions

Truth does not mean that Christians never experience sadness, grief, anger, or fear. Rather, emotions no longer have to be the final authority.

Your feelings may say:

“Everything is falling apart.”

Truth may say:

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” — Psalm 46:1

A prosperous soul learns to say:

“I acknowledge what I feel, but I choose to believe what God has said.”

That produces increasing stability.

4. Truth transforms the will. Truth must move from revelation to obedience.

Jesus spoke in John chapter 13:

17 If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.

In other Words, put into practice what I have done for you, and you will experience a life of happiness enriched with untold blessings!”

Knowing the Truth without obeying it produces little transformation. But when you walk in Truth, your choices begin aligning with God’s will.

The progression is:

Hear the Truth → believe the Truth → meditate on the Truth → obey the Truth → experience the fruit of the Truth.

This is why Gaius’s soul prospered. John did not merely say that Gaius knew the Truth. He said: “Thou walkest in the Truth.”

5. Truth exposes deception

Jesus called Satan “a liar, and the father of it” (John 8:44). One of the enemy’s primary strategies is deception.

The enemy asks: “Did God really say?”

Truth answers: “It is written.”

That was Jesus’ response during His temptation in the wilderness. He repeatedly answered satan with Scripture: “It is written…” — Matthew 4.  A soul filled with Truth becomes increasingly difficult to control through deception.

6. Truth produces freedom

Jesus spoke in John chapter 17:

17  Sanctify them (make them Holy) by Your Truth. Your Word is Truth.

Truth separates us from:

• False beliefs
• Condemnation
• Fear
• Deception
• Destructive thought patterns
• The world’s value system

The more God’s Truth governs the soul, the less room lies have to govern it.

7. Truth produces peace

Isaiah gives a powerful picture of a prosperous mind as it is written by THE SPIRIT in Isaiah chapter 26:

3 You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.

The connection:

Mind stayed on God → trust in God → peace

Peace is not merely the absence of problems. It is the stability of a soul anchored in Truth.

8. Truth changes the fruit of your life

What is planted in the soul eventually produces outward fruit.

Truth → renewed thinking → right believing → wise choices → Godly actions → fruitful living

When the soul is governed by Truth, a person is better equipped to make wise decisions, maintain healthy relationships, resist destructive behavior, handle adversity, and fulfill God’s purposes.  That does not mean a spiritually mature believer will never experience sickness, financial hardship, persecution, or suffering. It means that the soul can prosper even in difficult circumstances.

The deepest Truth is a Person: Jesus Christ!

Jesus spoke in John chapter 14:

“I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life.”

Therefore, the soul prospers not merely by accumulating Bible information, but through knowing Christ, believing His Word, abiding in Him, and walking according to His Truth.

The process of soul prosperity is a simple pattern:

THE WORD enters the mind
↓
THE HOLY SPIRIT reveals Truth
↓
Truth exposes the lie
↓
Faith receives the Truth
↓
The mind is renewed
↓
The will chooses obedience
↓
Emotions increasingly come under Truth
↓
The believer walks in Truth
↓
The soul prospers

The goal is not simply to know more Scripture, but for THE WORD to become the governing reality of your mind, will, and emotions.

The gifts of THE SPIRIT are vital to the Body of Christ, but we must operate in a Christlike character!

In the past, I have seen many men operating in the gifts of The Holy Spirit, including myself.  Spiritual gifts and operate through the immature believer.  When that happens, that believer must be extremely careful not to exalt that gift and allow the ego to infiltrate the ministry.  If anything, the believer must focus on spiritual maturity of his or her character.

Spiritual power is not the same as spiritual maturity!

What is character?

Character is who you become.

Character is not a gift.

Character is formed through:

• obedience
• surrender
• trials
• repentance
• perseverance
• daily walking with Christ

Paul describes this as the fruit of the Spirit.

Galatians 5:22-23

The fruit is:

• Love
• joy
• peace
• patience
• kindness
• goodness
• faithfulness
• gentleness
• self-control

Fruit is singular because it describes one Christ-like character expressed in many ways.  Unlike gifts, fruit is expected in every believer.

Gifts are received instantly whereas character develops over time.

A believer may receive a spiritual gift immediately after conversion.

For example:

• prophecy
• healing
• discernment
• evangelism

But maturity develops slowly.

James writes:

“Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete.”

(James 1:4)

In 2^nd Peter chapter 1: 5-7, Peter likewise teaches believers to add to their faith:

• virtue
• knowledge
• self-control
• perseverance
• Godliness
• brotherly affection
• Love

And in verse 8:

8 For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Gifts can exist without maturity.

This is one of Paul’s strongest warnings.  The church at Corinth operated in many spiritual gifts.

Paul says:

“You do not lack any spiritual gift…”

(1 Corinthians 1:7)

Yet he also tells them:

“I could not address you as spiritual but as worldly—mere infants in Christ.”

(1 Corinthians 3:1)

They had:

• prophecy
• tongues
• miracles

Yet they also had:

• division
• jealousy
• immorality
• lawsuits
• pride

This demonstrates a very important principle:

As Paul pointed out, Spiritual power is not the same as spiritual maturity.

5. Love is more important than gifts

Immediately after teaching about spiritual gifts, Paul writes the great chapter on Love.

1st Corinthians chapter 13:

He says:

If I speak in tongues…

without Love—

I am nothing.

If I prophesy…

without Love—

I am nothing.

If I understand all mysteries…

without Love—

I am nothing.

If I have mountain-moving faith…

without Love—

I am nothing.

Notice, Paul never minimizes the gifts.  He simply teaches that character determines their value.  Love is the motive that makes every gift useful.

Jesus warned that gifts alone prove nothing

One of the most sobering passages is in Matthew 7:21-23.

Many will say:

Lord, did we not

• prophesy?
• cast out demons?
• perform miracles?

Jesus does not deny they did these works.  Instead He says: “I never knew you.”

Their ministry exceeded their relationship.

Their power exceeded their Holiness.

Their gifts exceeded their obedience.

Character mattered more than spectacular ministry.

Moses illustrates character.  Moses spent forty years being prepared before leading Israel. God repeatedly described him as humble.

Numbers 12:3 says: “Now Moses was a very humble man…”

His authority flowed from his relationship with God.

On the other hand, Samson illustrates gifts without character.

Samson possessed extraordinary supernatural power.  The Spirit came upon him repeatedly.

Yet he lacked:

• self-control
• obedience
• purity
• humility

His gifting exceeded his character.

Eventually his sin destroyed his ministry.  How many times has that been the case with well-known ministries in recent years!

Joseph illustrates character before promotion.

Joseph received dreams (a gift).

Before ruling Egypt, God developed:

• integrity
• patience
• forgiveness
• humility
• wisdom

The gift came early, but character building took years.  When promotion came, Joseph could carry it faithfully.

Jesus perfectly united gifts and character.

Jesus never ministered merely through power.  Everything He did flowed from:

• Love
• compassion
• humility
• obedience
• Holiness

He healed, He cast out demons, He raised the dead.

Yet He also:

• washed feet
• forgave enemies
• served the poor
• obeyed the Father completely

Power and character were perfectly united.

A helpful comparison

Gifts of the Spirit	Fruit/Character of the Spirit

Benefit others	Transform the believer

The New Testament encourages believers to seek spiritual gifts:

“Earnestly desire the spiritual gifts…”
(1 Corinthians 14:1)

But in the same verse Paul places the higher priority on Love:

“Pursue Love, and earnestly desire the spiritual gifts…”

The order is significant:

1. Pursue Christlike character.
2. Desire and use spiritual gifts faithfully.
3. Let every gift operate through Love, humility, and obedience.

A mature disciple is not simply someone who displays supernatural gifts, nor someone who merely exhibits good moral behavior. Scripture presents the goal as believers who increasingly reflect the character of Christ while faithfully exercising the gifts the Holy Spirit has given for the building up of the Body of Christ.

When the fruit of the Spirit governs the gifts of the Spirit, the Church is strengthened, God is glorified, and Christ is accurately represented to the world.

We are to find strength and encouragement in GOD’S Word!

The ability to hear God’s voice and walk in a prophetic anointing is not reserved for a select few but is a gift available to every believer.  Your prophetic anointing is not a title but is a function of hearing GOD. 

It is recorded by The Holy Spirit in Joshua chapter 1:

1 And after Moses, YAHWEH’s servant, died, YAHWEH spoke to Joshua son of Nun, Moses’ faithful assistant, and said,

2 “My servant Moses is dead. Now get up! Prepare to cross the Jordan River, you and all the people. Lead them into the land that I am giving to the Israelites.

3 Every part of the land where you march I will give you, as I promised Moses.

4 Your borders will extend from the southern desert to the northern mountains of Lebanon, and from the great river Euphrates in the east, to the Mediterranean in the west—including all the land of the Hittites.

It took GOD only a few days to get the Israelites out of Egypt.  However, it took 40 years to get Egypt out of the mindset of the Israelite nation.  The exceptions being Moses, Joshua, and Caleb.

5 Joshua, no one will be able to defeat you for the rest of your life! I will be with you as I was with Moses, and I will never fail nor abandon you.

What a commitment!  What was expected of Joshua?

6 You must be strong and brave. You will lead the people to acquire and apportion the land that I promised their ancestors I would give them.

7 You must remain very strong and courageous! Be faithful to obey all the teaching that My servant Moses commanded you to follow. Do not deviate from him to the right or to the left, so that you will have overwhelming success in everything you undertake.

8 Recite this scroll of the law constantly. Contemplate it day and night and be careful to follow every Word it contains; then you will enjoy incredible prosperity and success.

9 I repeat, be strong and brave! Do not yield to fear nor be discouraged, for I am YAHWEH your God, and I will be with you wherever you go!”

Some believers no longer pick up their Bibles and study.  Others only open their Bibles on Sunday morning.  Joshua’s success was tied directly to FATHER’S command to meditating on HIS Word day and night.

What does it mean to meditate on The Word day and night?

To meditate on the Word day and night means far more than simply reading the Bible frequently. In Scripture, meditation is the intentional practice of filling your mind with God’s Truth, reflecting on it deeply, speaking it to yourself, and allowing it to shape your thoughts, decisions, attitudes, and actions throughout the day.

The phrase comes most prominently from Joshua 1:8.  A similar command is found in Psalms 1:

2:”…his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on His law he meditates day and night.”

What does “meditate” mean?

The Hebrew word translated meditate is hagah. It literally carries the idea of:

• murmuring
• speaking quietly to oneself
• pondering
• rehearsing repeatedly
• thoughtfully reflecting

It paints the picture of someone who continually turns God’s Word over in their mind until it becomes part of them.

Unlike many modern ideas of meditation that seek to empty the mind, Biblical meditation seeks to fill the mind with God’s Truth.

There are four parts of biblical meditation:

1. Read the Word carefully

You begin by reading a passage slowly.

Instead of asking, “How much can I read today?” ask:

• What is God saying?
• What stands out?
• What does this teach me about God?
• What does this reveal about me?

2. Think deeply about it

Ask yourself:

• Why did God include this?
• What does this mean?
• How does this fit with the rest of Scripture?
• How would my life change if I actually believed this?

Meditation is chewing on Scripture like food until you absorb its nourishment.

3. Speak it

Notice Joshua 1:8 says:

“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth…”

Meditation includes quietly repeating Scripture.

For example:

“The LORD is my shepherd…”

Then pause.

“What does it mean that He is my Shepherd?”

Then repeat it again.

“The LORD is my Shepherd…”

This helps move Truth from the eyes into the heart.

4. Live it

Joshua 1:8 gives the purpose:

“…so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written.”

Meditation always leads toward obedience.

Knowledge without obedience is incomplete.

What does “day and night” mean?

It does not mean you must read your Bible every waking minute.

It means God’s Word becomes the continual reference point for your life.

Throughout the day:

• while driving
• working
• making decisions
• facing temptation
• speaking to others
• worrying
• planning

your mind naturally returns to God’s Truth.

The Word begins to shape your perspective.

An example

Suppose you read:

“Be anxious for nothing…” (Philippians 4:6)

Reading:

“Be anxious for nothing.”

Meditation:

• Why am I anxious?
• What am I believing instead of trusting God?
• Has God failed me before?
• What promise applies here?
• Lord, help me trust You.

Later that afternoon, when anxiety appears again, you remember:

“Be anxious for nothing…”

Now the Scripture is directing your thinking.

That is meditation.

Jesus modeled this

Jesus constantly quoted Scripture.

During His temptation in the wilderness (Matthew 4), every temptation was answered with:

“It is written…”

The Word had become so deeply rooted in His Mind that it naturally came out under pressure.

Meditation prepares us the same way.

David’s example

Psalms 119 repeatedly describes meditation:

• “I will meditate on Your precepts.” (v.15)
• “My eyes stay open through the watches of the night, that I may meditate on Your promises.” (v.148)
• “How I love Your law! It is my meditation all the day.” (v.97)

David wasn’t merely reading Scripture; he was allowing it to occupy his thoughts throughout the day.

Practical way to meditate daily

A simple pattern is:

1. Read a short passage (5–10 verses).
2. Choose one verse that stands out.
3. Write it down.
4. Memorize it.
5. Pray through it.
6. Ask, “How should I obey this today?”
7. Recall it several times during the day.
8. Before bed, reflect on how you saw that Truth at work.

Meditating Scriptures is consistently connected with Spiritual growth: it moves God’s Word from the page, to the mind, to the heart, and ultimately into daily living.

We don’t need more faith, we need less unbelief!

As I wrote yesterday, the disciples wanted more faith.  Jesus responded in Luke chapter 17:

5 Upon hearing this, the apostles said to Jesus, “Lord, you must increase our measure of faith!”

6 Jesus responded, “If you have even the smallest measure of faith (as a mustard seed), it would be powerful enough to say to this large tree, ‘My faith will pull you up by the roots and throw you into the sea,’ and it will respond to your faith and obey you.”

The measure of faith was not the issue.

Paul wrote by The Holy Spirit in Romans chapter 12:

1 Beloved friends, what should be our proper response to God’s marvelous mercies? To surrender yourselves to God to be his Sacred, living sacrifices. And live in Holiness, experiencing all that delights His Heart. For this becomes your genuine expression of worship.

2 Stop imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around you, but be inwardly transformed by the Holy Spirit through a total reformation of how you think. This will empower you to discern God’s will as you live a beautiful life, satisfying and perfect in His Eyes.

3 God has given me grace to speak a warning about pride. I would ask each of you to be emptied of self-promotion and not create a false image of your importance. Instead, honestly assess your worth by using your God-given faith as the standard of measurement, and then you will see your true value with an appropriate self-esteem.

Each of us has been given a measure of faith.  The issue is whether or not you walk in it or allow unbelief to invade your mindset.  Where does unbelief come from?  The ideals, opinions, and observations of the culture around you.  The Kingdom of GOD is in you so you should focus on the inward witness of The Holy Spirit.

Matthew recorded by The Holy Spirit what Jesus said concerning unbelief and faith in Matthew chapter 17:

14 And when they had come to the multitude, a man came to Him, kneeling down to Him and saying,

15 “Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is an epileptic and suffers severely; for he often falls into the fire and often into the water.

The disciples were moved by this report and possibly observing the son.

16 So I brought him to Your disciples, but they could not cure him.”

17 Then Jesus answered and said, “O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him here to Me.” 18 And Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him; and the child was cured from that very hour.

19 Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not cast it out?”

20 So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.

21 However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”

How do you remove unbelief?  You must dwell and meditate on The Word.  Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect Will of God. 

The more you read, dwell, and meditate on The Word versus focusing on the world, the less unbelief has a place in your mind.  This will allow you to hear The Holy Spirit better.  The noise of the world will not drown out your hearing.

Thankfulness is a posture of humility!

When you raise your hands toward Heaven, when you tithe, when you express gratitude to GOD, these are all expressions of humility.  Which of these can be the most challenging?  Think about it.

There is competition for your adoration, your affection, your attention, and your commitment.  There are three ways of thinking: the Way of The Kingdom, the way of religion, and the way of politics.  Where is your focus?

The political spirit is humanism: man at the center of everything.  It doesn’t mind a belief in GOD, just don’t bring HIM into the equation.  That is the erroneous argument of the separation of church and state.  Can GOD be truly separated from any of HIS creation?

The religious spirit has GOD at the center of everything, but HE is impersonal and powerless.  HE is there in concept and theme, but not in relationship, not in power, not in Presence.

Jesus had to remind the disciples of Kingdom principles.

Jesus spoke in Mark chapter 8:

13 And He left them, and getting into the boat again, departed to the other side.

14 Now the disciples had forgotten to take bread, and they did not have more than one loaf with them in the boat.

15 Then He charged them, saying, “Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod.”

16 And they (the disciples) reasoned among themselves, saying, “It is because we have no bread.”

17 But Jesus, being aware of it, said to them, “Why do you reason because you have no bread? Do you not yet perceive nor understand? Is your heart still hardened?

18 Having eyes, do you not see? And having ears, do you not hear? And do you not remember?

19 When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many baskets full of fragments did you take up?” They said to Him, “Twelve.”

20 “Also, when I broke the seven for the four thousand, how many large baskets full of fragments did you take up?” And they said, “Seven.”

21 So He said to them, “How is it you do not understand?”

When we experience the supernatural, why is it we forget and return to the natural?  Jesus made that very point with the disciples.  Hardness of heart will keep us from walking in the supernatural.  The disciples experienced the supernatural, yet their hearts were still hardened. 

Once you receive a supernatural provision and supply, FATHER has provided you with exposure to HIS Covenant and HIS nature.  From that point forward, you are meant to live from that revelation.  Once I have received miracle provision, I have lost the right to start any thought process with what I don’t have.

Remembering is a choice!

You can feed your soul on anything you want to feed it on.  Many people feed their soul on what GOD hasn’t done, or you can remember.  It is the intentional calling to mind what you have seen and or have heard of the mighty works of GOD.

Real faith doesn’t deny the existence of a problem.  Real faith denies the problem a place of influence.  Your thankfulness keeps your mindset focused on GOD and HIS mighty works, especially those you have personally experienced.

Don’t allow yourself to be offended by the words of others!

Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. 

Jesus expressed this Truth in Matthew chapter 12:

33 “Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or else make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for a tree is known by its fruit.

34 Brood of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.

35 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things.

36 But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.

37 For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”

As you mature in Christ and are led by The Holy Spirit, there will be those who will speak words that are offensive toward you, often in a subtle fashion.  They may be envious or bitter.  Their words will reveal what is in their heart and we must not allow ourselves to be offended by their biting words.  Ultimately, they will be judged for those words of offense.

The enemy wants to weaken us through the offense words of others.  Our identity in Christ must remain strong when those attempts come toward us.  We must not allow words of others to define our actions, thoughts, or words in response.  We must protect our hearts!

A brother offended is harder to win than a strong city, And contentions are like the bars of a castle.

Then He said to the disciples, “It is impossible that no offenses should come, but woe to him through whom they do come!

Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.

2 Corinthians 3:14 NKJV

But their minds were blinded. For until this day the same veil remains unlifted in the reading of the Old Testament, because the veil is taken away in Christ.

“And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses.

For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love.

For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another.

In other Words, many will stop following Me and fall away, and they will betray one another and hate one another.

Offense is a dangerous spiritual strategy used by the enemy. It’s not just an emotion but a subtle trap designed to disconnect believers from Spiritual authority, discernment, and identity.

Key points about offense include:

It shifts focus from Christ to self, causing revelation to dim and faith to weaken.

It builds walls and isolates the heart, making it resistant to correction and Truth.

It turns the heart inward, focusing on pain instead of Christ.  It alters the believer’s internal environment, much like humidity changes a room’s atmosphere.

The enemy uses offense to drain spiritual strength when temptation fails. Temptation attacks conduct, but offense attacks character and perception.

Offense becomes spiritually lethal due to the interpretations that follow the initial hurt, which are often fueled by emotion rather than Truth. These interpretations can plant lies about oneself, others, and even God.

It causes spiritual dryness, leading to a loss of clarity, hunger for the Word, and focus.

The secret reason Satan wants you offended is to pull you out of your position in Christ, shifting you from identity to insecurity and from Spiritual authority to emotional reaction.

Offense blocks the flow of faith and disrupts spiritual alignment.  It is spiritual weight and resistance that slows progress, burdens the heart, and obscures discernment.

Offense contaminates the heart’s “wellspring of Life” and allows the enemy to gain a foothold.

Ultimately, offense prepares believers to accept lies about God, leading to incorrect perceptions and living.

Offense loses its power when recognized as an attack on one’s identity in Christ.  Forgiveness and forbearance are emphasized as crucial for protecting the heart’s atmosphere and maintaining spiritual openness, ultimately removing the enemy’s foothold.

Overcoming offense is about protecting identity and keeping the heart aligned with Christ for a free flow of The Spirit, sharp discernment, and effective prayers.

The greatest miracle is the believer discovering what GOD made him in Christ!

Knowledge is the believer’s shield.

Identity is the believer’s foundation.

Revelation is the believer’s weapon.

Hebrews 2:14: Declares that “through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is the devil”.  “Destroy” means to render powerless, not merely weaken.

Galatians 3:13: States, “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law” “Redeemed” as being bought out, removed from jurisdiction, and transferred into a new lineage.

Proverbs 18:21: Declares, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue” To emphasize the power of confession.

2 Corinthians 5:17: States, “New means, new, new lineage, new nature, new inheritance, new authority, new spiritual DNA” in the context of being a new creation in Christ.

Romans 12:2: Commands, “Be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind”  linking transformation to a renewal of identity.

2 Corinthians 5:21: Declares, “We are made the righteousness of God in Him”, highlighting that righteousness is an identity, not an attainment.

Hosea 4:6: Declares, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge”, stressing the importance of being informed about righteousness.

1 Corinthians 15:57: Declares, “But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ”, establishing victory as a position, not an aspiration.

Colossians 2:15: Reveals that Christ “spoiled principalities and powers”, meaning he stripped, disarmed, exposed, and defeated them.

Genesis 1:28: Reveals humanity’s original assignment to “Have dominion”, linking redemption to the restoration of this dominion.

Generational curses persist in the lives of Christians not due to the power of darkness, but due to a lack of understanding of what Christ has already accomplished.

Understanding is Key: Generational curses are not broken by effort, rituals, or striving, but by revelation. Many Christians remain in these cycles because they lack this revelation, praying for freedom they already possess through Christ.

Christ’s Finished Work: Christ has already destroyed the power of death and the devil. Believers are redeemed from the curse of the law, meaning they have been bought out, removed from jurisdiction, and transferred into a new lineage.

The Role of Agreement and Identity: Generational curses are no longer inherited through bloodlines, but through belief and agreement. What a believer agrees with, confesses, and expects, they empower. The enemy’s greatest tool is suggestion, whispering lies that become self-fulfilling prophecies.

New Creation in Christ: Christians are new creations in Christ, possessing a new lineage, nature, inheritance, and spiritual DNA. Their spiritual origin is from Christ, not their earthly bloodline.

Behavior vs. Identity: To break generational curses, believers must address the root cause (identity) rather than just the symptoms (behaviors). Transformation comes through the renewing of the mind to align with Truth and Christ.

The Power of Confession: Confession, or speaking Truth with conviction, is essential. When believers declare their identity in Christ, they silence the voice of history and dismantle the enemy’s claims.

Righteousness and Dominion: Believers are made the righteousness of God in Christ, which is an identity, not an attainment. Righteousness is the foundation of authority, enabling believers to stand against every pattern that doesn’t match Christ’s nature. This restored dominion from Genesis 1:28 allows believers to enforce what Christ has already accomplished.

Breaking Agreement with the Past: The key is to step into agreement with Christ and out of agreement with history. By replacing past expectations with scripture-shaped ones, believers become untouchable by previous family struggles.

The Enemy’s Modern Strategy: The enemy cannot rebind believers legally but attempts to mislead them mentally and provoke them emotionally, tempting them to speak words that resurrect what should remain dead.

Wisdom warns us not to be backsliders… Jesus did too!

Wisdom record by The Holy Spirit in Proverbs chapter 14:

14 The backslider in heart will be filled with his own ways, But a good man will be satisfied from Above.

How many messages have you heard in recent years warning us about backsliding?  It’s been decades since I heard such a message, yet it needs to be addressed in this hour.  Many believers who were once fervent for THE LORD are now simply warming the pews as a custom.  They are counted among the lukewarm mentioned by Jesus in Revelation chapter 3:

16 So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My Mouth.

17 Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’-and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked-

One of the prophetic voices declared, “The year 2026 will be the year of sifting and shifting!”

It is written by The Holy Spirit in Hebrews chapter 2:

1 This is why it is so crucial that we be all the more engaged and attentive to the Truths that we have heard so that we do not drift off course.

Backsliding begins when Truth slips away and you drift off course and step out of the light.

Paul wrote by The Holy Spirit in Galatians chapter 5:

1 At last we have freedom, for Christ has set us free! We must always cherish this Truth and firmly refuse to go back into the bondage of our past.

And in Romans chapter 12:

2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect Will of God.

It the mind is not renewed, the life cannot remain transformed and stay in fellowship.  The believer who neglects renewing of the mind will always drift back toward old patterns of thinking.

Backsliding is not about losing salvation; it is about losing fellowship.

Jesus spoke concerning the prodigal son in Luke 15:

17 “But when he came to himself, he said, ‘How many of My Father’s hired servants have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!

The son had lost consciousness of his fellowship with His Father but finally came to the realization of who he was.  That realization is what caused him to return to His Father’s House.

There is a common misperception that backsliding begins with a dramatic fall or major sin. Instead, backsliding starts quietly with a subtle shift in a believer’s consciousness and identity. The enemy’s primary strategy is not temptation, but disorientation, aiming to dim one’s awareness of righteousness and diminish confidence.

Backsliding as Erosion, not Rebellion: It’s described as an erosion of confidence, conviction, fellowship, and awareness, which is subtle and internal.

The Battleground of Identity: The core issue is losing sight of who one is in Christ. When a believer forgets their identity, they become vulnerable to sin; when they remember, they are almost impossible to pull into sin.

Drifting from Truth: Backsliding is a gradual loss of grip on the Truth that once anchored a believer, a slow drift of the heart away from revelation and the reality of union with Christ.

Focus on the Root, Not the Symptom: Sin is a symptom, not the root cause of backsliding. The root is losing sight of one’s identity in Christ.

Reactivation of Old Thinking: Backsliding isn’t the resurrection of the old nature, but the reactivation of old thinking patterns that lead to old emotions and habits.

Relational Distance and Spiritual Amnesia: It’s characterized as a relational distance from God and Spiritual amnesia, a loss of consciousness of righteousness.

Restoration through Awareness and Remembering: The path to restoration begins with returning to consciousness and remembering one’s identity in Christ. This includes remembering righteousness, union with the Lord, acceptance, and the greater power within.

Agreement Determines Direction: Backsliding thrives when a believer agrees with weakness, guilt, or distance. Conversely, agreeing with Truth leads to restoration.

Danger of Spiritual Dullness: The danger of backsliding is not losing salvation, but becoming Spiritually dull in hearing, conviction, resistance, and discernment, which opens doors for the enemy.

Impact on Influence: Backsliding ultimately hinders God’s work through the believer by stealing confidence, clarity, and intimacy, thereby limiting their influence.

It’s all about how and what you think!

When you were born again, you were given a new nature, but renewing your mind aligns your thoughts with that nature.  It is vital to embrace this Truth!

Paul wrote by The Holy Spirit in Romans chapter 12:

2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

In other Words, stop imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around you, but be inwardly transformed by the Holy Spirit through a total reformation of how you think. This will empower you to discern God’s will as you live a beautiful life, satisfying and perfect in his eyes.
