By THE SPIRIT Paul wrote in Romans chapter 6:
5 For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection,
6 knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin.
7 For he who has died has been freed from sin.
8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him,
9 knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him.
10 For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God.
11 Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts.
Once and for all Jesus freed us from sin and death but in order to walk in this freedom, we must not only be aware of the Truth but embrace it as well. We are no longer slaves to sin and thus we are not subject to the wicked one and his devices. Our subjection is only by our agreement to stay within his grasp. It is critical for us to see that we must renew our minds to this Truth so that we not allow sin to reign in our mortal bodies.
Each day we must renew our minds even though we may not perceive progress in this area. I know personally there are days when my mind and my body attempt to be pulled away from the reality of His resurrection and revert back to the world’s mantra of “seeing it to believe it” mentality. Those are the days where I know HIS Grace is sufficient for me no matter what the circumstances. This is where our faith gets tested which causes us to grow stronger IN HIM.
Some days it is important to simply declare FATHER’S past works in our lives. He has delivered us and performed miracles on our behalf and we must not forget them when we are being tried and tested with new challenges. Let us never forget Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever, or Malachi 3:6 “For I am the LORD, I do not change”
Our circumstances might change but Jesus doesn’t. Our problems are temporary but our solution is eternal. Paul wrote by THE SPIRIT in 1 Corinthians chapter 15:
56 The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law.
57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
We are urged to be steadfast and immovable in the work of THE LORD. There will be days when you may feel like you can’t be immovable because of recurring challenges but I encourage you to stop, get quiet before FATHER and let HIM minister to you that which you need for the day. The temporary will pass for we are no longer slaves to the old man. FATHER is well aware of our humanity and need for encouragement.
