Walking In Abundance- Part 10

October 24, 2026 – 3:34 am

Jesus walked in abundance; shouldn’t we expect to walk in the same manner as well?

Jesus wants us to walk in life and abundance and He is our example.  Now, let us consider how Jesus used fish in Scripture.

The first miracle where Jesus exercised dominion over fish was to recruit the disciples.

Luke recorded by The Holy Spirit in Luke chapter 5:

1 On one occasion, Jesus was preaching to a crowd on the shore of Lake Galilee. A vast multitude of people was pushing to get close to Jesus to hear the word of God.

2 He noticed two fishing boats at the water’s edge, with the fishermen nearby, rinsing their nets.

3 Jesus climbed into the boat belonging to Simon Peter and said to him, “Let me use your boat. Push it off a short distance away from the shore so I can speak to the crowd.”

4 Jesus sat down and taught the people from the boat. When He had finished, He said to Peter, “Now row out to deep water to cast your nets and you will have a great catch.”

5 “Master,” Peter replied, “we’ve just come back from fishing all night and didn’t catch a thing. But if You insist, we’ll go out again and let down our nets because of Your Word.”

Peter heard the Gospel and then responded to the Words of Jesus.

6 When they pulled up their nets, they were shocked to see a huge catch of fish, and their nets were ready to burst!

7 They waved to their business partners in the other boat for help. They ended up completely filling both boats with fish until they began to sink!

There is no question that the catch would be classified as abundance and prosperity.  How long did it take to go from total scarcity to prosperity?  We must adjust our mindset to where we expect blessings to come forth in an unexpected manner.  Did Jesus promote abundance and prosperity as He exercised dominion over the fish of the sea?  Why do we find it so hard to accept this Truth in our own lives?

What was Peter’s response when he saw the results?

8 When Simon Peter saw this astonishing miracle, he knelt at Jesus’ Feet and begged him, “Go away from me, Master, for I am a sinful man!”

Righteous blessing and prosperity produces good fruit and people respond to such proof.

9-10 Simon Peter and the other fishermen—including his fishing partners, Jacob and John, the sons of Zebedee—were awestruck over the miracle catch of fish. Jesus answered, “Do not yield to your fear, Simon Peter. From now on, you will catch men for salvation!”

11 After pulling their boats to the shore, they left everything behind and followed Jesus.

What was the first miracle after His resurrection?

The Beloved Disciple recorded by The Holy Spirit in John chapter 21:

1 After these things Jesus showed Himself again to the disciples at the Sea of Tiberias, and in this way He showed Himself:

2 Simon Peter, Thomas called the Twin, Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two others of His disciples were together.

3 Simon Peter said to them, “I am going fishing.” They said to him, “We are going with you also.” They went out and immediately got into the boat, and that night they caught nothing.

4 But when the morning had now come, Jesus stood on the shore; yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus.

5 Then Jesus said to them, “Children, have you any food?” They answered Him, “No.”

6 And He said to them, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.” So they cast, and now they were not able to draw it in because of the multitude of fish.

7 Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, “It is the Lord!” Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his outer garment (for he had removed it), and plunged into the sea.

8 But the other disciples came in the little boat (for they were not far from land, but about two hundred cubits), dragging the net with fish.

9 Then, as soon as they had come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid on it, and bread.

10 Jesus said to them, “Bring some of the fish which you have just caught.”

11 Simon Peter went up and dragged the net to land, full of large fish, one hundred and fifty-three; and although there were so many, the net was not broken.

12 Jesus said to them, “Come and eat breakfast.” Yet none of the disciples dared ask Him, “Who are You?”-knowing that it was the Lord.

13 Jesus then came and took the bread and gave it to them, and likewise the fish.

Jesus confirmed His resurrection by once again providing a miracle of abundance and prosperity.  The number 153 is the numeric value of “sons of GOD”.

The Covenant of dominion from Genesis is still in effect today.  Jesus proved it!
