Psalms 2 asks the rhetorical question “Why do the nations rebel?” and “Why do they plot a vain thing?”. It is because they are led by their fleshly and carnal desires and are fully disconnected from a relationship with the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY. Throughout history when mankind has distanced itself from FATHER, vanity, rebellion, and division occur.
Once again, we are moving toward a crescendo where a major shift will occur. Jesus alerted us of this period of time in Matthew 24:
3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”
4 And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you.
5 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.
6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places.
8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
Jesus instructed us not to be troubled and in order to fulfill His instruction we must have faith in His Word. How else can we be at peace when war, famine, pestilence, and earthquakes are happening all around us? In order to be of great faith, we must first comprehend FATHER’S great Love for us. As we increase in the revelation of HIS Love we will have full assurance that HE will deliver us from the plotting of those who are currently in control. Jesus continues:
9 “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake.
10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another.
11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many.
12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold
Is there any question whatsoever that lawlessness is everywhere? Every single day there are a multitude of news reports of illegal, immoral, and unethical activities in every aspect of our society. The moral fiber of this country is now missing for the most part. Self-centered officials will sacrifice anyone who would attempt to challenge their positions. The threat to national security is the default rationalization for lawlessness at the highest levels. Who determines what is right and just now? Actions are based on self-preservation rather than serving the public.
Jesus warned us that the Love (Agape) of many would grow cold. Why? Because they allowed themselves to be moved by what they see and no longer trusted in FATHER’S Plan to redeem all of mankind. They have become so frustrated with the prevailing lawlessness that they have become impatient for change. In response they begin taking action as though it has been ordained by FATHER… as though HE needs our help. They are no longer waiting on THE LORD. We must not let our Love grow cold! This is why I implore you to spend time with FATHER moment by moment and return to your first Love. As you do, your faith will be energized and the actions of others will no longer impact your peace. It is my intent to stir up your Love and exhort you to not give up on FATHER’S Plan in spite of what you see and hear all around you. Jesus is our High Priest and has shown us The Way to draw near to FATHER. Let us exhort others to that full assurance we have as well:
Hebrews 10:19 Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus,
20 by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh,
21 and having a High Priest over the house of God,
22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.
23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.
24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works,
25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
No matter what happens we must guard ourselves from having our Love grow cold and we must not let our faith waver. “But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” Our Love is being perfected and we will be found to have great faith as a result.
