Becoming like THE FATHER

John 5:19 Then Jesus answered and said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.

20 For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself does; and He will show Him greater works than these, that you may marvel.

21 For as the Father raises the dead and gives life to them, even so the Son gives life to whom He will.

22 For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son,

23 that all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.

Isn’t our ultimate goal to mature as a Son of Our Heavenly Father?  If this is the case then we should expect Our Heavenly Father to reveal HIMSELF to us.  Jesus reveals this truth in the above passage.  First, we must see what Our Heavenly Father does.  This can be done by studying Scripture as well as hearing HIS voice.  When we respond, we hear.  Our Heavenly Father Loves us and is willing to show us ALL things that HE HIMSELF does.  Furthermore, we are to do greater works than those that Jesus did and we should expect men to marvel at these works.  Has anyone been marveling at your works lately?  Me neither!

Our Heavenly Father Loves us as HE Loves Jesus Christ.  We should also expect HIM to show us all things as we become mature sons.  Can an infant be shown the the weightier truths?  We must study to show ourselves approved by Our Heavenly Father.  Our commitment to become mature sons is not based on a few hours of study and discussion but is based on a serious focus of understanding the deeper aspects HIS nature and ways.  Children knows his acts but we should learn HIS ways.

We should expect to give life to those whom THE FATHER directs us.  All judgment will be give to us as we become like Our Heavenly Father.  As we set our path on becoming like Our Heavenly Father as mature son should, we should expect to operate as Jesus did.  HE is our example.  We should not let HIS words be forgotten.  As we learn of the characteristics of Our Heavenly Father, we should purpose to act in the same manner.  HIS characteristics should become our characteristics.  We should embrace The Law because it is based on Love, the most primal characteristic of Our Heavenly Father.  As we do, we will become mature sons resulting in greater works.  We should expect HIS Glory to be manifested through us.  When that occurs, people will marvel!

Jesus reaffirms this-

John 14:12  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater [works] than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
