The Holy Spirit indwells in us to make us like Jesus!
The Holy Spirit’s primary job is to make us like Jesus in all areas; He directs us, He leads us, He empowers us. Without the power of The Holy Spirit, our credibility is in question.
The Beloved Disciple recorded by The Holy Spirit what Jesus spoke in John chapter 7:
37 On the last day, that great day of the feast (The Feast of Tabernacles), Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.
38 He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”
39 But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
Why was The Holy Spirit not yet given to us? He was not given to us before Jesus was glorified because He would have made us like Jesus before He was headed to the cross as the Son of man. Once Jesus was resurrected, ascended, and glorified, The Holy Spirit would then indwell in us so that we would ultimately walk in His glory.
And Jesus spoke in John chapter 16:
5 “But now I go away to Him who sent Me, and none of you asks Me, ‘Where are You going?’
6 But because I have said these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart.
7 Nevertheless I tell you the Truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.
Jesus understood the necessity to only send The Holy Spirit after He was glorified. By doing this, we could fully walk in His glory, being full of The Holy Spirit and power. What impact will He have on the world? Jesus continues:
8 And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
9 of sin, because they do not believe in Me;
10 of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more;
11 of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.
12 “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.
13 However, when He, the Spirit of Truth, has come, He will guide you into all Truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.
14 He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you.
15 All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.
In other Words, when the Truth-giving Spirit comes, He will unveil the reality of every Truth within you and me. He won’t speak on His own, but only what He hears from the Father, and He will reveal prophetically to you and me what is to come.
Do you want to know the future? Submit, surrender, and listen to The Holy Spirit, not men. Do you want to walk in the same manner as Jesus? Fully surrender to The Holy Spirit.
Whenever we worry and become anxious, we are being drawn into a faith in the inferior. The enemy is trying to lessen our awareness of significance of Who resides inside of us.
This indicates that we are not fully conscious of and led by The Holy Spirit… we have not fully surrendered to Him. It is time for us to realize and walk in the potential inside of us.
