Pursuing Holiness- Part 82

As we walk in Holiness, we will no longer be moved by circumstances or the storms of life!

Spending time in GOD’S Presence develops complete trust IN HIM.

David recorded by THE SPIRIT in Psalm chapter 37:

4 Delight yourself also in the LORD, And HE shall give you the desires of your heart.

5 Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.

6 He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, And your justice as the noonday.

Each of us has a specific and unique calling that will be challenged by the adversary and his minions.  When we fully trust in FATHER’S plan for us, we are no longer frightened or intimidated by anything that confronts us to take us off course.

Matthew faithfully recorded by The Holy Spirit in Matthew chapter 8:

18 And when Jesus saw great multitudes about Him, He gave a command to depart to the other side.

FATHER instructed Jesus to go to the other side of the lake.  As we know, Jesus would heal two demon-possessed men in the country of the Gergesenes.  He would set them free of demons.

19 Then a certain scribe came and said to Him, “Teacher, I will follow You wherever You go.”

20 And Jesus said to him, “Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.”

21 Then another of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, let me first go and bury my father.”

22 But Jesus said to him, “Follow Me, and let the dead bury their own dead.”

23 Now when He got into a boat, His disciples followed Him.

24 And suddenly a great tempest arose on the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves. But He was asleep.

How many believers would be able to sleep peacefully in a boat where the storm was causing significant waves to swamp the boat and sink it?  Some of the disciples were commercial fishermen and knew the potential of the boat sinking.

25 Then His disciples came to Him and awoke Him, saying, “Lord, save us! We are perishing!”

26 But He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm.

27 So the men marveled, saying, “Who can this be, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?”

Jesus knew His mission and that it would be fulfilled despite the storm.  He was not moved by this challenge to His instructions from Above.

As we walk in a higher state of being, external circumstances will no longer dictate our internal state.  Emotional resilience is not about merely enduring hardships, it is about thriving in spite of them!  All of us have and will deal with such hardships.  The adversary will challenge our emotional state to see where our level of trusting in FATHER is at.

Successfully dealing with adversity will cause us to become stronger and wiser.  When we are no longer overwhelmed by our emotions, our higher level of trust in FATHER is realized.  Instead of allowing fear or anger to dictate our responses, we cultivate a calm and composed demeanor just as Jesus did in the above passage.

Paul wrote by The Holy Spirit in 1st Corinthians chapter 10:

13 We all experience times of testing, which is normal for every human being. But God will be faithful to you. He will screen and filter the severity, nature, and timing of every test or trial you face so that you can bear it. And each test is an opportunity to trust HIM more, for along with every trial God has provided for you a way of escape that will bring you out of it victoriously.

We will develop a mindset to embrace life’s challenges without fear or reluctance but instead as opportunities for growth.  We will develop emotional resilience and be transformed by renewing our mind to trust FATHER in all circumstances.  This calmness will inspire those around us as a testimony to trusting FATHER in all adversity.
