The Hope Of The World

Jesus Christ is The Hope of the world!

David wrote by THE SPIRIT the Golden Psalm chapter 16:

Preserve me, O God, for in You I put my trust.

2 O my soul, you have said to the LORD, “You are my Lord, My goodness is nothing apart from You.”

3 As for the saints who are on the earth, “They are the excellent ones, in whom is all My delight.”

4 Their sorrows shall be multiplied who hasten after another god; Their drink offerings of blood I will not offer, Nor take up their names on my lips.

5 O LORD, You are The Portion of my inheritance and my cup; You maintain my lot.

6 The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; Yes, I have a good inheritance.

7 I will bless the LORD Who has given me counsel; My heart also instructs me in the night seasons.

8 I have set the LORD always before me; Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.

9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; My flesh also will rest in hope.

10 For You will not leave my soul in Sheol, Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.

11 You will show me the Path of Life; In Your Presence is fullness of joy; At Your Right Hand are pleasures forevermore.

When the turbulence comes as a raging sea, we are to remain calm.

Jesus spoke in Luke chapter 21:

26 men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

27 Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

28 Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near (is at hand).

In Scripture, the sea depicts mankind, the sea of humanity.

Matthew recorded by The Holy Spirit in his Gospel in chapter 8:

23  Now when Jesus got into a boat, His disciples followed Him.

24 And suddenly a great tempest arose on the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves. But He was asleep.

25 Then His disciples came to Him and awoke Him, saying, “Lord, save us! We are perishing!”

26 But He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm.

27 So the men marveled, saying, “Who can this be, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?”

Hope is the positive assurance of an expected outcome.  Jesus had the assurance that He was not going to die in a boat during a storm.  Instead, He took command of the storm and spoke to the wind.  Nature responded.  We need to rest in that same assurance.

David also wrote by THE SPIRIT in Psalm chapter 31:

23  Oh, Love the LORD, all you His saints! For the LORD preserves the faithful, And fully repays the proud person (who reject Him in their pride).

24 Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart, All you who hope in the LORD.

Our hearts must be rooted and grounded IN HIM for we are to be of good courage during tumultuous times.  Our hope and trust are in THE LORD.  We should celebrate His birth and most of all His resurrection every day.  If we do, peace will prevail in our hearts!

Luke recorded by The Holy Spirit in Luke chapter 2:

11  For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, Who is Christ the Lord.

12 And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.”

13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying:

14 “Glory to God in the Highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”

The Lion of Judah and His saints will ultimately bring peace on earth and good hope to all men.
