Soul Cleanse: Day 22

Saturday, September 13th, 2025

Today’s Psalms:

Psalm 126:

1 When the LORD brought back the captives to Zion (Jerusalem), We were like those who dream [it seemed so unreal].

[2] Then our mouth was filled with laughter And our tongue with joyful shouting; Then they said among the nations, “The LORD has done great things for them.” [3] The LORD has done great things for us; We are glad!

Psalm 135:

5 For I know that the LORD is great And that our Lord is above all gods.

[6] Whatever the LORD pleases, He does, In the heavens and on the earth, in the seas and all deeps—

[7] Who causes the clouds to rise from the ends of the earth; Who makes lightning for the rain, Who brings the wind from His storehouses;

[8] Who struck the firstborn of Egypt, Both of man and animal;

[9] Who sent signs and wonders into your midst, O Egypt, Upon Pharaoh and all his servants.

[10] Who struck many nations And killed mighty kings,

[11] Sihon, king of the Amorites, Og, king of Bashan, And all the kingdoms of Canaan;

[12] And He gave their land as a heritage, A heritage to Israel His people.

[13] Your name, O LORD, endures forever, Your fame and remembrance, O LORD, [endures] throughout all generations.

[14] For the LORD will judge His people And He will have compassion on His servants [revealing His mercy].

Soul Cleanse: Day 21

Today’s Psalms:

Psalm 118:

22 The stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief corner stone.

[23] This is from the LORD and is His doing; It is marvelous in our eyes.

Psalm 121:

1 I will lift up my eyes to the hills [of Jerusalem]—From where shall my help come?

[2] My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth.

[3] He will not allow your foot to slip; He who keeps you will not slumber.

[4] Behold, He who keeps Israel Will neither slumber [briefly] nor sleep [soundly]. [5] The LORD is your keeper; The LORD is your shade on your right hand.

Psalm 121:

7 The LORD will protect you from all evil; He will keep your life.

[8] The LORD will guard your going out and your coming in [everything that you do] From this time forth and forever.

Psalm 123:

1 Unto you I lift up my eyes, O You who are enthroned in the heavens!

[2] Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master, And as the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress, So our eyes look to the LORD our God, Until He is gracious and favorable toward us.

Soul Cleanse: Day 20

Thursday, September 11th, 2025

Today’s Psalms:

Psalm 113:

1 Praise the LORD! (Hallelujah!) Praise, O servants of the LORD, Praise the name of the LORD.

[2] Blessed be the name of the LORD From this time forth and forever.

[3] From the rising of the sun to its setting The name of the LORD is to be praised [with awe-inspired reverence].

[4] The LORD is high above all nations, And His glory above the heavens.

[5] Who is like the LORD our God, Who is enthroned on high,

[6] Who humbles Himself to regard The heavens and the earth?

[7] He raises the poor out of the dust And lifts the needy from the ash heap,

[8] That He may seat them with princes, With the princes of His people.

[9] He makes the barren woman live in the house As a joyful mother of children. Praise the LORD! (Hallelujah!)

Psalm 115:

16 The heavens are the heavens of the LORD, But the earth He has given to the children of men.

[17] The dead do not praise the LORD, Nor do any who go down into silence;

[18] But as for us, we will bless and affectionately and gratefully praise the LORD From this time forth and forever. Praise the LORD! (Hallelujah!)

Psalm 118:

1 O give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; For His lovingkindness endures forever.

[2] Oh let Israel say, “His lovingkindness endures forever.”

[3] Oh let the house of Aaron say, “His lovingkindness endures forever.”

[4] Oh let those who [reverently] fear the LORD, say, “His lovingkindness endures forever.”

[5] Out of my distress I called on the LORD; The LORD answered me and set me free.

[6] The LORD is on my side; I will not fear. What can [mere] man do to me?

[7] The LORD is on my side, He is among those who help me; Therefore I will look [in triumph] on those who hate me.

[8] It is better to take refuge in the LORD Than to trust in man.

[9] It is better to take refuge in the LORD Than to trust in princes.

Soul Cleanse: Day 19

Wednesday, September 10th, 2025

Today’s Psalms:

Psalm 107:

8 Let them give thanks to the LORD for His lovingkindness, And for His wonderful acts to the children of men!

[9] For He satisfies the parched throat, And fills the hungry appetite with what is good.

Psalm 111:

1 Praise the LORD! (Hallelujah!) I will give thanks to the LORD with all my heart, In the company of the upright and in the congregation.

[2] Great are the works of the LORD, Studied by all those who delight in them.

[3] Splendid and majestic is His work, And His righteousness endures forever.

[4] He has made His wonderful acts to be remembered; The LORD is gracious and merciful and full of loving compassion.

[5] He has given food to those who fear Him [with awe-inspired reverence]; He will remember His covenant forever.

[6] He has declared and made known to His people the power of His works, In giving them the heritage of the nations.

[7] The works of His hands are truth and [absolute] justice; All His precepts are sure (established, reliable, trustworthy).

[8] They are upheld forever and ever; They are done in [absolute] truth and uprightness.

[9] He has sent redemption to His people; He has ordained His covenant forever; Holy and awesome is His name—[inspiring reverence and godly fear].

[10] The [reverent] fear of the LORD is the beginning (the prerequisite, the absolute essential, the alphabet) of wisdom; A good understanding and a teachable heart are possessed by all those who do the will of the LORD; His praise endures forever.

Another Kids In Need Update

Tuesday, September 9th, 2025

From the school counselor we work with:

I wanted to share about my personal Village student. Our nurse identified last Fall that she needed an eye exam. I mentioned it to mom several times throughout the schoolyear but mom never followed through on making an appointment. This mom never responds to calls from the school but she always responds if I call or text her personally. The student mentioned a couple weeks ago that she still hadn’t been to the doctor. I worked with the nurse to get them set up with Soonercare. We identified that the whole process was just too overwhelming to mom. So I got her a phone number for a pediatric optometrist that accepts Soonercare and told her that I would help her figure out transportation once she scheduled an appointment.
The little girl ran up to me this morning and was so excited to tell me that she finally had an eye doctor appointment and was going to get classes! It’s a couple weeks away but I’ve been able to help mom arrange transportation through Sooner Ride.
Last year we gave mom Crest cards several times throughout the year. I’ve also provided snacks and frequent check-ins with the student. The harder part is providing accountability for the mom even and having tough conversations with her about attendance and the child’s needs. A year ago, she was extremely defensive and wanted nothing to do with anyone from the school. But we’ve been able to establish trust and a good relationship where she knows I prioritize her kid. Now we’ve been able to introduce her to community resources that she can access on her own. I feel very strongly about getting them to church next.

I know that there are so many kids out there in similar situations. We may never identify or help ALL of them, but what a gift to be able to help the ones that God opens the door for!

Soul Cleanse: Day 18

Today’s Psalms:

Psalm 104:

1 Bless and affectionately praise the LORD, O my soul! O LORD my God, You are very great; You are clothed with splendor and majesty,

[2] [You are the One] who covers Yourself with light as with a garment, Who stretches out the heavens like a tent curtain,

[3] Who lays the beams of His upper chambers in the waters [above the firmament], Who makes the clouds His chariot, Who walks on the wings of the wind,

[4] Who makes winds His messengers, Flames of fire His ministers.

[5] He established the earth on its foundations, So that it will not be moved forever and ever.

[6] You covered it with the deep as with a garment; The waters were standing above the mountains.

[7] At Your rebuke they fled; At the sound of Your thunder they hurried away.

[8] The mountains rose, the valleys sank down To the place which You established for them.

[9] You set a boundary [for the waters] that they may not cross over, So that they will not return to cover the earth.

[10] You send springs into the valleys; Their waters flow among the mountains. [11] They give drink to every beast of the field; The wild donkeys quench their thirst there.

[12] Beside them the birds of the heavens have their nests; They lift up their voices and sing among the branches.

[13] He waters the mountains from His upper chambers; The earth is satisfied with the fruit of His works.

[14] He causes grass to grow for the cattle, And all that the earth produces for cultivation by man, So that he may bring food from the earth—

[15] And wine which makes the heart of man glad, So that he may make his face glisten with oil, And bread to sustain and strengthen man’s heart.

[16] The trees of the LORD drink their fill, The cedars of Lebanon which He has planted,

[17] Where the birds make their nests; As for the stork, the fir trees are her house. [18] The high mountains are for the wild goats; The rocks are a refuge for the shephanim.

[19] He made the moon for the seasons; The sun knows the [exact] place of its setting.

[20] You [O LORD] make darkness and it becomes night, In which prowls about every wild beast of the forest.

[21] The young lions roar after their prey And seek their food from God.

[22] When the sun arises, they withdraw And lie down in their dens.

[23] Man goes out to his work And remains at his labor until evening.

[24] O LORD, how many and varied are Your works! In wisdom You have made them all; The earth is full of Your riches and Your creatures.

[25] There is the sea, great and broad, In which are swarms without number, Creatures both small and great.

[26] There the ships [of the sea] sail, And Leviathan [the sea monster], which You have formed to play there.

[27] They all wait for You To give them their food in its appointed season.

[28] You give it to them, they gather it up; You open Your hand, they are filled and satisfied with good [things].

[29] You hide Your face, they are dismayed; You take away their breath, they die And return to their dust.

[30] You send out Your Spirit, they are created; You renew the face of the ground. [31] May the glory of the LORD endure forever; May the LORD rejoice and be glad in His works—

[32] He looks at the earth, and it trembles; He touches the mountains, and they smoke.

[33] I will sing to the LORD as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.

[34] May my meditation be sweet and pleasing to Him; As for me, I will rejoice and be glad in the LORD.

Soul Cleanse: Day 17

Monday, September 8th, 2025

Today’s Psalms:

Psalm 99:

1 The LORD reigns, let the peoples tremble [with submissive wonder]! He sits enthroned above the cherubim, let the earth shake!

[2] The LORD is great in Zion, And He is exalted and magnified above all the peoples.

[3] Let them [reverently] praise Your great and awesome name; Holy is He.

[4] The strength of the King loves justice and righteous judgment; You have established fairness; You have executed justice and righteousness in Jacob (Israel). [5] Exalt the LORD our God And worship at His footstool; Holy is He.

Psalm 103:

1 Bless and affectionately praise the LORD, O my soul, And all that is [deep] within me, bless His holy name.

[2] Bless and affectionately praise the LORD, O my soul, And do not forget any of His benefits;

[3] Who forgives all your sins, Who heals all your diseases;

[4] Who redeems your life from the pit, Who crowns you [lavishly] with lovingkindness and tender mercy;

[5] Who satisfies your years with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the [soaring] eagle.

[6] The LORD executes righteousness And justice for all the oppressed.

[7] He made known His ways [of righteousness and justice] to Moses, His acts to the children of Israel.

[8] The LORD is merciful and gracious, Slow to anger and abounding in compassion and lovingkindness.

[9] He will not always strive with us, Nor will He keep His anger forever.

[10] He has not dealt with us according to our sins [as we deserve], Nor rewarded us [with punishment] according to our wickedness.

[11] For as the heavens are high above the earth, So great is His lovingkindness toward those who fear and worship Him [with awe-filled respect and deepest reverence].

[12] As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us.

[13] Just as a father loves his children, So the LORD loves those who fear and worship Him [with awe-filled respect and deepest reverence].

[14] For He knows our [mortal] frame; He remembers that we are [merely] dust. [15] As for man, his days are like grass; Like a flower of the field, so he flourishes. [16] For the wind passes over it and it is no more, And its place knows it no longer. [17] But the lovingkindness of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting on those who [reverently] fear Him, And His righteousness to children’s children,

[18] To those who honor and keep His covenant, And remember to do His commandments [imprinting His word on their hearts].

[19] The LORD has established His throne in the heavens, And His sovereignty rules over all [the universe].

[20] Bless the LORD, you His angels, You mighty ones who do His commandments, Obeying the voice of His word!

[21] Bless the LORD, all you His hosts, You who serve Him and do His will.

[22] Bless the LORD, all you works of His, in all places of His dominion; Bless and affectionately praise the LORD, O my soul!

Soul Cleanse: Day 16

Sunday, September 7th, 2025

Today’s Psalms:

Psalm 96:

1 Sing a new song to the LORD! Let the whole earth sing to the LORD!

[2] Sing to the LORD; praise his name. Each day proclaim the good news that he saves.

[3] Publish his glorious deeds among the nations. Tell everyone about the amazing things he does.

[4] Great is the LORD! He is most worthy of praise! He is to be feared above all gods.

[5] The gods of other nations are mere idols, but the LORD made the heavens!

[6] Honor and majesty surround him; strength and beauty fill his sanctuary.

[7] O nations of the world, recognize the LORD; recognize that the LORD is glorious and strong.

[8] Give to the LORD the glory he deserves! Bring your offering and come into his courts.

[9] Worship the LORD in all his holy splendor. Let all the earth tremble before him.

[10] Tell all the nations, “The LORD reigns!” The world stands firm and cannot be shaken. He will judge all peoples fairly.

[11] Let the heavens be glad, and the earth rejoice! Let the sea and everything in it shout his praise!

[12] Let the fields and their crops burst out with joy! Let the trees of the forest sing for joy

[13] before the LORD, for he is coming! He is coming to judge the earth. He will judge the world with justice, and the nations with his truth.

Psalm 97:

1 The LORD reigns, let the earth rejoice; Let the many islands and coastlands be glad.

[2] Clouds and thick darkness surround Him [as at Sinai]; Righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne.

[3] Fire goes before Him And burns up His adversaries on all sides.

[4] His lightnings have illuminated the world; The earth has seen and trembled.

[5] The mountains melted like wax at the presence of the LORD, At the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.

[6] The heavens declare His righteousness, And all the peoples see His glory and brilliance.

[7] Let all those be [deeply] ashamed who serve carved images, Who boast in idols. Worship Him, all you gods!

[8] Zion heard this and was glad, And the daughters (cities) of Judah rejoiced [in relief] Because of Your judgments, O LORD.

[9] For You are the LORD Most High over all the earth; You are exalted far above all gods.

[10] You who love the LORD, hate evil; He protects the souls of His godly ones (believers), He rescues them from the hand of the wicked.

[11] Light is sown [like seed] for the righteous and illuminates their path, And [irrepressible] joy [is spread] for the upright in heart [who delight in His favor and protection].

[12] Rejoice in the LORD, you righteous ones [those whose moral and spiritual integrity places them in right standing with God], And praise and give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name.
