Fear of THE LORD: Part 4

The Fear of GOD is awe and reverence toward GOD, the Creator of Heaven and earth and there is nothing commonplace about being in HIS Presence and reverencing HIS Name above all.

Moses wrote by The Holy Spirit in Deuteronomy chapter 6:

1 “Now this is the commandment, and these are the statutes and judgments which the LORD your God has commanded to teach you, that you may observe them in the land which you are crossing over to possess, 2 that you may fear the LORD your God, to keep all His statutes and His commandments which I command you, you and your son and your grandson, all the days of your life, and that your days may be prolonged. 3 Therefore hear, O Israel, and be careful to observe it, that it may be well with you, and that you may multiply greatly as the LORD God of your fathers has promised you—‘a land flowing with milk and honey.’

4 “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is ONE! 5 You shall Love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.

6 “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.”

FATHER doesn’t change and HIS commitment to us doesn’t change either.  If we Fear THE LORD, we will not suffer an early death but instead be blessed in all that we do.  We will not be reluctant to share the Gospel with family members and those we encounter.  Our boldness will be due to the certainty of our Covenant with FATHER and the Fear of THE LORD keeps this certainty in place.

THE LORD wants us to fear HIM for our good.  HE knows the benefits of our Covenant and HE wants us to walk fully in that Covenant.  Wisdom wrote in Proverbs chapter 3:

7 Do not be wise in your own eyes;

Fear the LORD and depart from evil.

8 It will be health to your flesh,

And strength to your bones.

If you do things you know are wrong then you don’t Fear THE LORD.  We are to depart from all forms of evil and not allow ourselves to be compromised.  There aren’t enough laws to restrain sinful human nature.  Every year legislators attempt to restrain the sinful nature of men when if mankind were to Fear THE LORD, there would be little for the legislators to enact.  We would need less courts and judges.  The police force would decrease in size.  The list goes on.

Many legislatures have increased the problem as it relates to removing the Fear of GOD in schools and other venues.  When I was growing up, we recited the Lord’s Prayer at the beginning of every school day.  This taught us the Fear of THE LORD at an early age.  Once removed from school, you can see how society slowly but surely moved to that sinful nature that is plaguing this country.  Sex sins are at the top of the list.  “Anything goes” is their mantra and ultimately they will bring forth judgment and suffering which may include early death.

Wisdom also wrote in Proverbs chapter 8:

13 Wisdom pours into you

when you begin to hate every form of evil in your life,

for that’s what worship and fearing GOD is all about.

Then you will discover

that your pompous pride and perverse speech

are the very ways of wickedness that I hate!”

FATHER hates pride and perverse speech and explicitly cautions us in this verse.  Perverse speech includes lying, and lying includes leaving someone with a false impression because you manipulated the facts thus communicating a false intent.

The news networks have been guilty of bearing false witness toward the president over the last four years.  Do you think that FATHER is looking the other way?  Judgment shall surely come against those who continuously bear false witness.  In 2021, should we expect early, unusual, and untimely deaths of those in authority who either instigated or supported this wickedness?  FATHER will not be mocked!

The second great commandment Jesus spoke in Matthew 22 stated ‘You shall Love your neighbor as yourself.’  This commandment does not promote tolerance to those who walk in sin.  In Leviticus chapter 19, the Holy Spirit clarifies this:

17 ‘You shall not hate your brother in your heart. You shall surely rebuke (confront) your neighbor, and not bear sin because of him. 18 You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people, but you shall Love your neighbor as yourself: I am the LORD.

This command does not support tolerance of sin even though we are to Love our neighbor while they are in sin.  We only seek their best and they must have a reckoning concerning their sin thus deciding what path they will pursue when confronted by a Loving neighbor.  Under no circumstance are we to hate our neighbor.  We simply hate sin as does FATHER.

If you Love a person you are going to tell them the Truth.  This is what FATHER does in HIS Word and we are to do the same.  Sex sins are unacceptable.  Genetic modification is unacceptable and we must not be passive toward sin else judgment arrives on the scene.

Jesus spoke in John chapter 8:

31 Jesus said to the people who believed in him, “You are truly My disciples if you remain faithful to My teachings. 32 And you will know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free.”

Truth frees people and sin places them in bondage.  Paul wrote by The Holy Spirit in Romans chapter 12:

9 Let the inner movement of your heart always be to Love one another, and never play the role of an actor wearing a mask. Despise evil and embrace everything that is good and virtuous.

We are not to be tolerant of evil but we are to Love the person.  We don’t hate the sinner, we hate the sin.  FATHER Loved me when I was a sinner but HE hated my sin.  However, HIS Love saved me and dealt with the sin.  That is what Loving is all about.  It is written by The Holy Spirit in Psalm 36:

1 The rebellion of sin speaks as an oracle of God,

speaking deeply to the conscience of wicked men.

Yet they are still eager to sin,

for the fear of GOD is not before their eyes.

Once again, FATHER is not tolerant of sin and neither should we.  Read Psalms 14 and 53.  Love has a “hate” aspect to it and we must not forget or disregard that aspect of FATHER’S Character.  HE hates evil… period!  When we walk in the Fear of THE LORD, we will actively hate evil too.

We need to Fear GOD more than we fear people.  There is nobody more intolerant than the liberals who are criticizing us who have morals.  They are using lawlessness to press forward their agenda and want us to simply be “tolerant” of their so-called rights.  They spent the last four years trying to impeach a duly elected president who won primarily because of the evangelical vote.  Think about it.

We need to stand up and be the Sons and Daughters we are called to be.  We must no longer be reluctant to express the Truth in all matters.  The source of our confidence is based on the Fear of THE LORD and our Covenant with HIM.

Paul wrote by The Holy Spirit in Galatians chapter 4:

16 Have I really become your enemy because I tell you the Truth?

It may cost you something when you speak the Truth but it is worth it.
