Walking In Abundance- Part 18

November 2, 2026 – 3:07 am

There are two requirement to walk in HIS covenant blessings of abundance: listen and obey!

HIS blessings were not restricted to the Jews in the wilderness.  They express HIS Nature toward HIS children and that includes you and me.

Moses recorded by The Holy Spirit in Deuteronomy chapter 28:

1 “Now it shall be, if you diligently listen and obey the Lord Your God, being careful to do all His commandments which I am commanding you today, that the Lord your God will put you high above all the nations of the earth.

2 And all these blessings will come to you and reach you if you obey the Lord Your God:

The two conditions there for entering into the covenant blessings of God are: first, listening carefully to God’s Voice; and second, doing what God says. As a matter of fact, listening to God’s Voice is always the primary requirement of God for a right relationship with Him in all ages and dispensations.

What happens when you don’t listen?

It is recorded by The Holy Spirit in Jeremiah chapter 7:

22 For I did not speak to your fathers, or command them on the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings and sacrifices.

23 But this is what I commanded them, saying, ‘Obey My Voice, and I will be Your God, and you will be My people; and you shall walk entirely in the way which I command you, so that it may go well for you.’

24 Yet they did not obey or incline their ear, but walked by their own advice and in the stubbornness of their evil hearts, and they went backward and not forward.

That really is God’s basic requirement in all ages and dispensations—“Obey My Voice and I will be Your God.” And that implies a direct personal relationship with God, because a voice is something personal. We have to able to hear God’s Voice before we can obey it. If we don’t hear God’s Voice it’s impossible to obey it.

Now you might say, “That changed in the New Testament.” But really, it didn’t.

Jesus spoke in John chapter 10:

27 My sheep listen to My Voice, and I know them, and they follow Me;

28 and I give them Eternal Life, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My Hand.

29 My Father, Who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s Hand.

30 I and the Father are one.”

“My sheep, My true disciples,” Jesus says, and He’s not talking about denominations or church groups. “My sheep, all My true disciples,” — what’s the first requirement? — “hear My Voice.” And second, “They follow Me.” That’s never changed all through Scripture.

The first requirement: listen diligently to the Voice of the Lord; the second one is do what He says. But it’s logical to put them in that order because if you don’t hear God’s Voice you can’t even start to do what He says.
