The present day is before us so let us make the most of it!
Peter wrote by The Holy Spirit in 1 Peter chapter 1:
13 So then, prepare your hearts and minds for action! Stay alert and fix your hope firmly on the marvelous grace that is coming to you. For when Jesus Christ is unveiled, a greater measure of grace (enablement) will be released to you.
And David wrote by The Holy Spirit in Psalm chapter 39:
3 My heart burned with a fire within me, and my thoughts eventually boiled over until they finally came rolling out of my mouth:
4 “Lord, help me to know how fleeting my time on earth is. Help me to know how limited is my life and that I’m only here but for a moment more.
5 What a brief time you’ve given me to live! Compared to You my lifetime is nothing at all! Nothing more than a puff of air—I’m gone so swiftly. So too are the grandest of men; they are nothing but a fleeting shadow!”
I Hear His Whisper…
Do you feel as if your days are fleeting? Time will pass whether you’re paying attention or not. How are you using your days, beloved? Practicing the habit of being tuned to the present is how you can take hold of the time you have. The past is behind you though you can learn from it. The future is ahead, and it can be a driving force that keeps you going, but it can also distract from what you have here and now. Don’t forget to pay attention to the present moment.
Practice presence, beloved. Be aware of what you are giving your attention to. Train your thoughts by grounding them in truth. Anchor your mind by tuning in to my presence. This is the moment I have given you. Will you let it race by, or will you give it intention? Let your life align with my love as you set your heart on practicing purposeful presence with those around you. You have received a gift in this life, and it is not too late to be diligent in purpose. Take your thoughts captive, love, and you will find that joy is already here in this present season.
