Discerning Intent

Sunday, February 10th, 2019

In this time of increasing complexity, It can be very challenging to determine the intent of those who impact us, especially those who are in the political and financial arena.  I have lived long enough and have had substantial exposure to the rich and famous to become somewhat cynical of the intent of the rich and powerful.

In Matthew chapter 9, Jesus encounters a young wealthy person:

16 Now behold, one came and said to Him, “Good Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life?”

17 So He said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God.  But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.”

18 He said to Him, “Which ones?”

Jesus said, “‘You shall not murder,’ ‘You shall not commit adultery,’ ‘You shall not steal,’ ‘You shall not bear false witness,’

19 ‘Honor your father and your mother,’ and, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’

20 The young man said to Him, “All these things I have kept from my youth.  What do I still lack?”

21 Jesus said to him, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”

22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.

Did Jesus know the what was in the young man’s heart?  Yes, as the Son of GOD, He could discern what was in the hearts of men.  Did the young man really keep all the commandments based on their intent?  Once again, Jesus is assessing the fruit of the rich young ruler by exposing the intent of the heart.  Notice the last commandment mentioned- ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’  Here you have a young man of great wealth yet he was unwilling to give up his great wealth to show his unconditional Love for his neighbor.  Typically, the issue with the intent of most people boils down to money.  I found this out when FATHER had me take various trips to Europe with the intent of helping third world countries fund infrastructure projects.  I saw first hand the selfishness of people who would sacrifice the funding deals in order to get “their cut” out of the deal while people who were to receive help were in abject poverty.  How sad!

The rich young ruler did not have faith in Jesus nor the Divine Intent of FATHER.  His trust was in his own riches and great possessions.  How many of us would respond to Jesus and submit to His Word: “If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me”?  This Word will either instill fear or faith, depending where you are at as far as becoming a mature Son or Daughter.  FATHER has challenged my wife and I over the years in our giving.  In each case, HE took us out of our comfort zone in order to expose what was in our hearts.  I would suggest that as you become more mature, HE will expose your heart in a similar manner.

We are to walk by faith in GOD and come to understand HIS Divine Intent for our specific situation.  FATHER isn’t a harsh taskmaster who wants to place us in abject poverty in order to confirm our willingness to follow HIM.  HE wants to expose any impurity in our hearts so that we are able to grow and mature as Sons and Daughters.  HE wants us to trust HIM rather than the world’s riches.  HE wants us to walk in and exercise the commandment of Love toward others.  When we become a cheerful giver, we are being trained to be led by THE SPIRIT rather than being led by self interest which is often centered around money.  One of the most direct methods of discerning intent is done by watching the flow of money in a person’s life.  The rich young ruler’s response is an excellent example.

Corresponding Actions

James wrote by THE SPIRIT in chapter 2:

14 What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him?

15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food,

16 and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit?

17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

18 But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.

19 You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble!

20 But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?

21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar?

22 Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect?

FATHER challenges us to walk in great faith by reading, studying, and dwelling in HIS Word, then expressing The Word by corresponding actions.  I discovered this Truth many years ago and have exercised my faith accordingly.  However, I also found that walking in faith is similar to exercising my body.  If I fail to continue in The Word and cease doing good works, my faith will suffer and I can and will become “void” in HIS Word.  FATHER expects us to stay well-rounded in HIS Word and not allow ourselves to become weak in any area.

In 1984, I contracted hepatitis from shellfish while on a business trip to New York.  I had been so busy with work, I became lax in the study of FATHER’S Word.  I had walked in Divine health for several years then suddenly… I became deathly sick, literally.  I had the worst case of hepatitis the local clinic had seen.  I was mad at FATHER for I had studied many facets of HIS Word, listened to teaching tapes, etc.  When I enquired about this situation of getting sick, HE replied “You are void of MY Word”.  Then HE said, “When was the last time you studied MY Word in the area of healing?”   Oops!  It had been sometime ago because I had not been sick.  After I repented, HE instructed me to immerse myself in HIS Word concerning healing.  I literally did so all day long since I was off work.

The doctor had said I would be off work for six to eight weeks because of the severity of my case.  FATHER intervened and I was healed and back to work in eleven days.  I paid a price to learn a valuable lesson.  I purpose to stay well-rounded in my study of FATHER’S Word.  Unfortunately, I have had to “re-learn” this lesson a few more times since then.  At least I know now what to do when I have grown weak in an area.  Faith comes by hearing, reading, studying, and dwelling on FATHER’S Word.  Then we must take corresponding action to become mature and complete.  This is true for our health, our finances, and other areas.  Faith and corresponding actions bring forth abundance in the focused area because we become fruitful in that area of our lives.  As we become well-rounded, we will have sufficiency in every area of our life.  Faith without works is dead.

Let each of us do a personal assessment and identify the weak areas where we have become lax.  The problem is correctable and today is the best today to address those weaknesses.  Take corresponding actions.

Today’s Prayer

Friday, February 8th, 2019

My Prayer for us all who are patiently waiting:

FATHER,

We understand the end and culmination of all things is near. Therefore, being of sound-mind and self-controlled for the purpose of prayer, we stay balanced and focused on the things of God so that our communication will be clear, reasonable, specific and pleasing to YOU.

Above all, we are learning to have fervent and unfailing love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins for it overlooks unkindness and unselfishly seeks the best for others.

We purpose to be hospitable to one another without complaint.

Just as each one of us has received a special gift, a spiritual talent, an ability graciously given by YOU, we employ it in serving one another as is appropriate for good stewards of YOUR multi-faceted grace, faithfully using the diverse, varied gifts and abilities granted to us by YOUR unmerited favor.

Whoever among us speaks to the congregation of believers, is to do so as one who speaks the oracles, that is the utterances, the very words of spoken to us by YOU. Whoever serves the congregation of believers will purpose to do so as one who serves by the strength which YOU abundantly supply, so that in all things YOU may be glorified, honored and magnified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever.

Amen.

Faith Versus Flesh

Thursday, February 7th, 2019

Paul wrote by THE SPIRIT in Galatians chapter 3:

1 O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you that you should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed among you as crucified?

2 This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

3 Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh?

4 Have you suffered so many things in vain—if indeed it was in vain?

5 Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?—

6 just as Abraham “believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.”

7 Therefore know that only those who are of faith are sons of Abraham.

Let us not be foolish and trust in the works of the flesh.  There are many who started their walk in faith and then digressed to do works based on their fleshly understanding thus they no longer walk in faith.  They have moved from revelation to tradition.  What FATHER may have revealed 20 years ago may have only been intended for that particular time so we must not allow ourselves fall into a rut, failing to hear any of HIS fresh directives for our life.

As we mature, FATHER expects us to become more sensitive to HIS directives and walk according to what HIS Holy Spirit directs.  As changing events occur, we must navigate accordingly and not count on old manna.  As our understanding increases, we become equipped to walk according to a new set of directives which we were unable to follow in an immature state.  We should mature into great faith and no longer waver when FATHER instructs us to take certain actions.

We must resist the tendency to convert revelation to rituals.  FATHER told me to start praying  for one hour before work every day beginning in the year 1990.  I faithfully did so until HE told me at the beginning of the year 2000 that season was over.  It is as important to hear HIM when HE directs us to stop as it is when HE directs us to begin.  Both require faith in HIS Word.  That ten year period was filled with major changes, upheavals,  and challenges that required me to be fully equipped to handle them in an appropriate manner.  That time of prayer was central to my preparation.  FATHER allowed me to experience an 18 month journey into the “wilderness’ from March of 1995 to September of 1996.  I had been prepared for such a time due to HIS directive to become a prayer warrior.  During that 18 month period, I had to put my emotions in check virtually every morning lest I be moved by what I saw occurring in my life.

FATHER honored my faithfulness and delivered me many times during that ten year period.  My faith was strong and I did not rely on fleshly works to deal with the challenges at hand.  I share these personal events not to bring attention to myself but to encourage you that FATHER is more than willing to see you through similar challenges.  You are not alone in times of suffering but know that many of us have endured similar tests and trials of our faith.  The point is that we must purpose to hear the directives of Our Heavenly Father and not allow ourselves to count on man’s fleshly works of the law or any tradition to see us through such challenges.  Faith comes by hearing HIM!

The True Treasury

Wednesday, February 6th, 2019

Paul wrote in Ephesians chapter 4:

11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers,

12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ,

13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;

14 that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting,

15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ—

16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.

In looking back over the past 45 years, FATHER has positioned me to be a teacher on behalf of the Kingdom.  While in church, I was sought out to teach the high school class and later the young married couples’ class.  I never volunteered to teach but was always asked to teach.  After leaving the church in 1996, I was content to simply seek the Kingdom and study the Word but FATHER led God’s Kingdom Ministries to have me speak at the conferences they held.  This occurred for ten years then FATHER instructed me to focus solely on the revelation of Love and start Servias Ministries.  HE provided me the funds to set up the operations with the intent for me to write blogs and instruct those who had eyes to see and ears to hear.

In the early 1970’s while working at the largest bank in Oklahoma, I taught a few night courses on  Economics and  a course on “Money and Banking” at a local small college.  I have always had a desire to impart what I knew to be facts and truth to those who wanted to learn.  It is clear that FATHER instilled this desire to teach in me as a gift and part of the calling when HE formed me in the womb.

Over those same years, I have received literally hundreds of prophetic words about a financial-based calling centered around being a “treasurer” for the Kingdom.  Several prophets from various areas around the country would prophesy similar prophecies to keep me encouraged.  At first, I was excited about these prophecies for I had excelled in banking and knew the industry inside and out.  FATHER placed me in banking for it was never my idea to go to work at a bank.

As I have pondered the various positions HE has placed me in as well as the prophecies given to me over the years, I see the greatest honor to be given is the revelation of Love.  Within that revelation is the treasury where moth and rust cannot corrupt.  In Matthew chapter 6, Jesus spoke:

19 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal;

20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.

21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

And in Matthew chapter 13, Jesus again spoke:

44 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.”

Over the years, FATHER sent me on multiple trips to London, Switzerland, Spain, Toronto, and even to a mine in Panama where I had the expectation of those prophecies being fulfilled.  I even have a covenant in place for accessing the wealth of China held in various secret caves.  FATHER orchestrated that as well.  Yet being exposed to the world’s wealth does not compare to the revelation of Love and Its inherent benefits in the Kingdom of GOD.  The treasury in the Kingdom is infinitely greater than any treasury found on earth.  Yesterday’s link provides us with great insight to the preparation of the Sons and Daughters for what FATHER has in store for us.  Let us keep our focus on what will never pass away… It is all about Love.  Everything else is temporary by comparison.

Jesus Went About Teaching

Monday, February 4th, 2019

What is a teacher?  One who imparts instruction, instills doctrine into one, explains or expound a thing, teaches one something, enlightens the student to facts and truth about a topic.  It is the teacher’s responsibility to convey something to the recipient which is unaware or uneducated in a particular facet.  The student most often does not even “know what question to ask” else he or she would not need to be taught about the subject.

Matthew recorded by THE SPIRIT in chapter 4:

23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people.

24 Then His fame went throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all sick people who were afflicted with various diseases and torments, and those who were demon-possessed, epileptics, and paralytics; and He healed them.

25 Great multitudes followed Him—from Galilee, and from Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea, and beyond the Jordan.

In chapter 7:

24 “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock:

25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.

26 “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand:

27 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”

28 And so it was, when Jesus had ended these sayings, that the people were astonished at His teaching,

29 for He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.

In order for us to change, we must be taught and enlightened by those inspired by The Holy Spirit.  How do we know if the teacher is conveying the facts and the Truth or the Kingdom?  By the fruits.  When you have been properly taught, you will begin to see positive changes in your life and will receive answers and revelation to the questions which have been unanswered in the past.  It is all about equipping the saints for what lies ahead.  FATHER is extremely interested in preparing each of us to be able to address all the challenges we will face and to walk in peace as we navigate through these challenges.  It is up to each of us to become occupied with whatever FATHER wants us to learn at each stage in our personal development.  Let us not grow weary in this time of preparation for there may be notable chaos and confusion ahead for those who rely on the world’s systems.

If Jesus’ ministry emphasized teaching and correction, so should we.  It is up to those of us who are at a greater level of spiritual maturity to properly instruct the immature.  Many of them do not even realize what they don’t know so don’t expect them to draw the revelation out of you.  A good teacher will lead the student into all Truth.  Many students may be astonished at your teaching but in their hearts, THE SPIRIT will witness to them the veracity of the teaching.  Teaching is a central aspect of establishing the Kingdom.

The Unicorn

Sunday, February 3rd, 2019

My friend Alan wrote:

A few days back my daughter-in-law questioned me for an explanation; “Why am I suddenly being confronted with unicorns everywhere I look”? That wasn’t her exact wording, but that was the crux of the inquiry. The first thought that popped up in my mind was “I don’t know. I am not being confronted with unicorns”. And I felt a little jealous, and somewhat cheated; she was seeing something Spiritually that I was not. So, we started to talk, and here is some of what has since surfaced from her challenging inquiry.

The English word ‘unicorn’ is a western expression of the original Latin word ‘unicornus ‘ literally translated from two thoughts; ‘one (uni; unique) horn (kornis)’. Unicorn is literally ‘one horn’. The Spiritual implications of this concept began to flood over me, and I’m still trying to put the pieces into place.

When we consider all of the ‘horned’ animals referred to in scripture, and which were designated as sacrificially acceptable, we see that all of these ‘beasts’ have two horns; duality. I found myself dumbfounded at not having already acknowledged this simplicity. I won’t belabor the implications of duality versus singularity; you know all of that as well as I. What I find stunning, however, is that the vast majority of history has relegated the unicorn to the realm of fantasy; mythology; an imaginary impossibility. Only in the Mind of Christ can we begin to see, and begin to accept, the possibility of Oneness; complete Unity. To be One with Father is to be ‘unicorn’. Yashua told us, “Though you have two eyes, let your Eye be single”. (My paraphrase). Yashua was challenging us to be single-minded; unity of purpose and unity of expression. [James 1:8, 4:8]

Most of us, as Believers, can readily embrace the idea of ‘uni’, even if we can’t imagine ourselves ever being ‘uni’. We accept the idea that sometime, somewhere or somehow, God Our Father can accomplish the task of unifying us with Him. We ‘believe’ that Our Father has the potential to bring that to pass. But what we struggle with imagining is how that ‘uni’ could possibly apply to me (us) as individuals. How can I be One (uni) with My Father. And yet Yashua ‘prayed’, “Father, let them be One with You as I AM One with You”. [John 17:21-23]

The crux (uh oh, I’ve used that word again) of this dilemma is in the word ‘corn ‘, which is a hold-over from the Latin ‘unicornus ‘, a word used to describe having ‘one horn’. So; what is special in the idea of a single horn? What does a horn represent? What do the ‘horns of the alter’ communicate to us? What about the ‘ram’s horns’ (shophar) that the trumpeters used to sound out messages to the encampment? What is the primary purpose of a horn, if not solely to send forth a communication that the receivers thereof can readily understand, interpret and accept? Is not a ‘horn’ a direct communication, intended to be easily understood? And when a horn is sounded, it is not intended to be received and/or understood by only a discreet few, while the other hearers are left in confusion and dismay. Granted, there may be only a select few that truly understand what specific message the ‘trumpeter’ is communicating, but there is no way to control who hears the ‘blast’, and who does not. A horn is a communication to “…whom so ever will hear”. A ‘unicorn’ is a communication to “…whom so ever will see”.

Duality, or double mindedness, is a condition that we as Believers are told to avoid. And if as Believers we are to be single eyed and single minded, are we not also to be singular in our communication; of who we are, and of our purpose and intent? And how are we to accomplish any of this unless we are One with Our Father? My communication to my daughter concerning the significance of unicorns popping up all over is as follows: I believe Our Father, via the Holy Spirit of God within us, is bringing the uniqueness of the unicorn to our attention, telling us it is time to acknowledge and pursue being One with Our Father in Heaven. And the Kingdom of Heaven is within us; all of us. We may have never recognized that concept previously, but I truly believe a major aspect of The Third Day is in our beginning to acknowledge the reality of the Kingdom of Heaven within.

Does God use the ‘signs’ in the constellations to communicate to us a Spiritual Kingdom message? First the natural, then the Spiritual. Does Our Father have the ‘sense of humor’ to communicate to us about His Nature and his pageant in horse races, football games, the fish of the sea and the fowls of the air (literally, heavenlies)? First the natural, then the Spiritual. Does Our Father have the ability to awaken us to the chaos we are creating in our carnality and selfishness by using storms and weather oddities to speak to us? First the natural, then the Spiritual. Can Our Father also use the age-old symbol of the unicorn, hidden in plain view for thousands of years, to call us to the ultimate purpose of our being One with Him? I declare, unabashedly and un-reservedly, Yes and Amen! First the Natural, then the Spiritual.

The word ‘unicorn’ shows up only nine times in scripture; six times as singular, and three times as plural. The massive volume of Spiritual information involved in the Hebrew word translated as ‘unicorn’ is much too deep to dive into in this brief. However, the unique use of the Hebrew word translated as ‘unicorn’ is actually used ten times in the scripture. Nine times this unique expression is translated as ‘unicorn’. The tenth time, in Zechariah 14:10, it is translated as “…shall be lifted up,” The ‘unicorn’ is one that is “…lifted up” by being single minded; One with Father. WoW!!! How simple!

When we begin to have the courage to declare we are One with Our Father, just as Yashua prayed for us to be, we will start to hear a different communication from our own mouths. We will become a different kind of horn. We will realize we are becoming a ‘unicorn’; singular in vision, singular in sound and singular in purpose and intent. When we begin to acknowledge our being One with Our Father, we will begin to be the manifestation of Christ that Our Father always intended us to be. “When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at will begin to change”. I am reminded, as I write this, that 2019 is to be a time of ‘hearing’ like we have never ‘heard’ before. In Strong’s Greek, #2019 is ‘epiphoneo’.

I’m going out to get a unicorn.

Shalom, Y’all!

The Door: Part 4

Saturday, February 2nd, 2019

Isaiah recorded by THE SPIRIT in chapter 55 The Words of Our Heavenly Father:

1 “Ho! Everyone who thirsts, Come to the waters; And you who have no money, Come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk Without money and without price.

2 Why do you spend money for what is not bread, And your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, And let your soul delight itself in abundance.

3 Incline your ear, and come to Me (Ask). Hear, and your soul shall live; And I will make an everlasting covenant with you— The sure mercies of David.

4 Indeed I have given him as a witness to the people, A leader and commander for the people.

5 Surely you shall call a nation you do not know, And nations who do not know you shall run to you, Because of the LORD your God, And the Holy One of Israel; For He has glorified you.”

6 Seek the LORD while He may be found, Call upon Him (knock) while He is near.

7 Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the LORD, And He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.

In the above passage, FATHER communicates the essence of what Jesus spoke in Matthew chapter 7:7-8.  Further, FATHER explains to us that there is a definite separation between where most people reside and where FATHER resides:

8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts,

Nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD.

9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth,

So are My ways higher than your ways,

And My thoughts than your thoughts.”

There is a lower sense realm and a higher Spiritual realm with a definite separation.  If we want to access HIS thoughts and ways, we must ascend to the level where FATHER resides.  This level is accessible for HE said that HE can be found in verse 6.  The children of Israel were invited to reside in this higher level of existence in order that FATHER could bless them with an abundant life when HE spoke “Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, And let your soul delight itself in abundance.”  FATHER further spoke:

10 “For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, And do not return there, But water the earth, And make it bring forth and bud, That it may give seed to the sower And bread to the eater,

11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

12 “For you shall go out with joy, And be led out with peace; The mountains and the hills Shall break forth into singing before you, And all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.”

When we access this higher realm in a lawful manner by entering through the door (Jesus Christ), we are invited to walk in an abundant life filled with joy and peace.  We are to produce good fruit which in turn will provide all with bread to eat and additional seed to sow for the future.  Peace will precede our steps as we walk into various situations of chaos and turbulence.  I have personally seen and experienced this phenomenon many times in the past.  Let us walk according to FATHER’S Word and reaffirmed by Our Lord Jesus Christ.  BOTH invited us to occupy this higher realm of a life filled with abundant living where not only our needs are met, but we become conduits to meet the needs of those around us no matter what situation we encounter.  Let us fully embrace the Words of Jesus when He spoke in John chapter 10:

9 “I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.

10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

The Door: Part 3

Friday, February 1st, 2019

The term “door” expresses an entrance which separates two distinct areas which can be restricted by the closing of the entrance by an efficient barrier.  A door is meant to be opened or closed by the intent of one who has authority over the door in some manner.  The term “knock” is an expressed notice requesting lawful entrance through a door.  In Matthew chapter 7, Jesus spoke:

7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

8 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.”

There are many facets to the above passage, but let’s consider the simplicity of what Jesus said.  When He told us to ask and it will be given to us, what is to be given?  How about directions to the door?  If that be the case, then what is it that we are to seek?  Once again, the answer is the door.  Once we come face to face with the door, what are we to do?  Knock with the expectation of the keeper of the door to open it to us so that we can enter through the door and access the restricted area which the door has been protecting from unlawful entrance.  Though this may seem very basic to many, in a few words, Jesus conveyed an important spiritual reality.

There is a restricted area unknown to many else Jesus would not have first indicated that we should “ask”.  He initiated the question about a mystery for each of us to become aware of in our spiritual walk.  In essence, He said “Ask me about the door?”  Until Jesus arrived on the scene, none of us knew there was a door to ask about.  Once we are told to ask, Jesus willingly told us to seek it out so it must be FATHER’S Divine Intent for us to find the door.  Otherwise, the mystery would remain hidden.  Finally, we are told to knock which establishes an expectation for the door to be answered by the keeper of the door.  Lastly, Jesus clearly states that the door will be answered and opened to us in order that we are able to gain lawful entry.

With this fundamental understanding, Jesus further spoke:

9 “Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone?

10 Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent?

11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!

12 Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.”

Once one enters lawfully through this door, Jesus immediately speaks of FATHER responding to those who ask HIM about receiving “good gifts”.  Once we have entered this restricted area as instructed by Jesus, we do have access to good and advantageous gifts for our benefit.  We now have access to the spiritual realm where we can and should communicate with Our Heavenly Father and ask HIM to meet our needs.  We should have no reluctance to come boldly to HIM for Jesus urged us to ask, seek, and knock so that we could find this door in the first place.  It is out of FATHER’S unconditional Love that we enter through the door and come boldly into HIS presence so that we have access to those good and advantageous gifts HE desires to give us.

Should I apologize for being a recipient of those good and advantageous gifts?  Absolutely not!  I simply took Jesus at HIS Word and FATHER has not only sustained me throughout the years but has blessed me and my family because of my willingness to believe and have faith IN HIM.  You can go through life in scarcity or abundance, its your choice.  I chose to ask, seek, and knock as Jesus instructed.  I took Jesus at His Word which happens to be FATHER’S Word as well.  Those good and advantageous gifts were not only spiritual in nature, but physical as well.  Let us not restrict FATHER’S willingness to be a giver.  In response to HIS giving to me, I have become a cheerful giver to others, thus emulating My Heavenly Father.  How else would I respond once I received the Love revelation of ask, seek, and knock?
