James wrote by THE SPIRIT in chapter 2:
1 My brethren, do not hold the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with partiality.
2 For if there should come into your assembly a man with gold rings, in fine apparel, and there should also come in a poor man in filthy clothes,
3 and you pay attention to the one wearing the fine clothes and say to him, “You sit here in a good place,” and say to the poor man, “You stand there,” or, “Sit here at my footstool,”
4 have you not shown partiality among yourselves, and become judges with evil thoughts?
5 Listen, my beloved brethren: Has God not chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him?
6 But you have dishonored the poor man. Do not the rich oppress you and drag you into the courts?
7 Do they not blaspheme that noble name by which you are called?
8 If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you do well;
9 but if you show partiality, you commit sin, and are convicted by the law as transgressors.
I have seen on many occasions over the last forty-five years where men have shown partiality to the rich and/or famous. The ego is a harsh taskmaster and you can easily get caught up in glamor of being around the wealthy. The ego believes if you stay close to the person, he or she might just hand over some money or other valuables. That is a rarity especially in today’s self-oriented society. FATHER is not impressed by wealth or glamor for HE looks at the heart and knows who HE can work with. The poor man usually has less baggage to deal with thus he is more likely to hear FATHER. Yes, there are exceptions.
We are warned against becoming judges with evil thoughts and should take this warning seriously. We should treat each person we come into contact with as a future brother or sister in Christ. After all, they will all embrace the Love of FATHER at some point and be reconciled to HIM. At that point, the manifestation of the brother or sister is at hand. It is only a matter of time.
The poor in this world tend to be rich in faith whereas the rich tend to rely on their wealth and assets. Little do they realize their money can grow wings and fly away without notice. I would prefer to be rich in faith knowing that MY GOD shall supply all my needs according to HIS riches in glory. I know HE Loves me and wants me to be fruitful thus HE will provide sustenance to keep me going, even in the lean times.
The rich will often use the court system to bully the rest of us. It is simply a form of manipulation which originates from the god of this world. Those who like to sue have no clue of the commandment “You shall love your neighbor as yourself” . Jesus expressly gave us this commandment and we have no excuse to sue our neighbor. Some will try to rationalize why someone isn’t his neighbor and that is just another excuse to exercise selfish motives. Lawsuits are simply designed to further the current legal system at the expense of the innocent. Do you think FATHER will judge the system in a harsh manner since it goes directly against HIS Divine Intent of Love?
We are warned that if we show partiality, then we have been determined to do evil, and are judged as evil-doers by the law. How simple is it to live by the Divine Intent of Love toward all mankind! You don’t have to be concerned about being a law-breaker but instead are pleasing to FATHER and Our Lord Jesus Christ.
