Soul Cleanse: Day 15

September 6th, 2025

Today’s Psalms:

Psalm 93:

1 The LORD reigns, He is clothed with majesty and splendor; The LORD has clothed and encircled Himself with strength; the world is firmly established, it cannot be moved.

[2] Your throne is established from of old; You are from everlasting.

[3] The floods have lifted up, O LORD, The floods have lifted up their voice; The floods lift up their pounding waves.

[4] More than the sounds of many waters, More than the mighty breakers of the sea, The LORD on high is mighty.

[5] Your precepts are fully confirmed and completely reliable; Holiness adorns Your house, O LORD, forever.

Psalm 95:

1 O come, let us sing joyfully to the LORD; Let us shout joyfully to the rock of our salvation.

[2] Let us come before His presence with a song of thanksgiving; Let us shout joyfully to Him with songs.

[3] For the LORD is a great God And a great King above all gods,

[4] In whose hand are the depths of the earth; The peaks of the mountains are His also.

[5] The sea is His, for He made it [by His command]; And His hands formed the dry land.

[6] O come, let us worship and bow down, Let us kneel before the LORD our Maker [in reverent praise and prayer].

[7] For He is our God And we are the people of His pasture and the sheep of His hand. Today, if you will hear His voice,

[8] Do not harden your hearts and become spiritually dull as at Meribah [the place of strife], And as at Massah [the place of testing] in the wilderness,

[9] “When your fathers tested Me, They tried Me, even though they had seen My work [of miracles].

[10] For forty years I was grieved and disgusted with that generation, And I said, ‘They are a people who err in their heart, And they do not acknowledge or regard My ways.’

[11] Therefore I swore [an oath] in My wrath, ‘They absolutely shall not enter My rest [the land of promise].’”

Soul Cleanse: Day 14

September 5th, 2025

Today’s Psalms:

Psalm 90:

11 Who understands the power of Your anger? [Who connects this brevity of life among us with Your judgment of sin?] And Your wrath, [who connects it] with the [reverent] fear that is due You?

[12] So teach us to number our days, That we may cultivate and bring to You a heart of wisdom.

Psalm 91:

1 Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

[2] This I declare about the LORD: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him.

[3] For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease.

[4] He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.

[5] Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day. [6] Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday.

[7] Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you, these evils will not touch you.

[8] Just open your eyes, and see how the wicked are punished.

[9] If you make the LORD your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter, [10] no evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home.

[11] For he will order his angels to protect you wherever you go.

[12] They will hold you up with their hands so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone.

[13] You will trample upon lions and cobras; you will crush fierce lions and serpents under your feet!

[14] The LORD says, “I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name.

[15] When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them.

[16] I will reward them with a long life and give them my salvation.”

Soul Cleanse: Day 13

September 4th, 2025

Today’s Psalms:

Psalm 85:

10 Steadfast love and truth and faithfulness meet together; Righteousness and peace kiss each other.

[11] Truth springs from the earth, And righteousness looks down from heaven. [12] Indeed, the LORD will give what is good, And our land will yield its produce. [13] Righteousness will go before Him And will make His footsteps into a way [in which to walk].

Psalm 87:

1 His foundation is on the holy mountain.

[2] The LORD loves the gates of Zion More than all the dwellings of Jacob (Israel).

[3] Glorious things are spoken of you, O city of God [Jerusalem]. Selah.

Psalm 89:

9 You rule the swelling of the sea; When its waves rise, You still them.

[10] You have crushed Rahab (Egypt) like one who is slain; You have scattered Your enemies with Your mighty arm.

[11] The heavens are Yours, the earth also is Yours; The world and all that is in it, You have founded and established them.

[12] The north and the south, You have created them; Mount Tabor and Mount Hermon shout for joy at Your name.

[13] You have a strong arm; Mighty is Your hand, Your right hand is exalted.

[14] Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; Lovingkindness and truth go before You.

[15] Blessed and happy are the people who know the joyful sound [of the trumpet’s blast]! They walk, O LORD, in the light and favor of Your countenance! [16] In Your name they rejoice all the day, And in Your righteousness they are exalted.

[17] For You are the glory of their strength [their proud adornment], And by Your favor our horn is exalted.

[18] For our shield belongs to the LORD, And our king to the Holy One of Israel.

Psalm 90:

1 Lord, You have been our dwelling place [our refuge, our sanctuary, our stability] in all generations.

[2] Before the mountains were born Or before You had given birth to the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are [the eternal] God.

[3] You turn man back to dust, And say, “Return [to the earth], O children of [mortal] men!”

[4] For a thousand years in Your sight Are like yesterday when it is past, Or as a watch in the night.

[5] You have swept them away like a flood, they fall asleep [forgotten as soon as they are gone]; In the morning they are like grass which grows anew—

[6] In the morning it flourishes and springs up; In the evening it wilts and withers away.

Soul Cleanse: Day 12

September 3rd, 2025

Today’s Psalms:

Psalm 69:

34 Let heaven and earth praise Him, The seas and everything that moves in them. [35] For God will save Zion and rebuild the cities of Judah, That His servants may remain there and possess it.

[36] The descendants of His servants will inherit it, And those who love His name will dwell in it.

Psalm 77:

13 Your way, O God, is holy [far from sin and guilt]. What god is great like our God?

[14] You are the [awesome] God who works [powerful] wonders; You have demonstrated Your power among the people.

[15] You have with Your [great] arm redeemed Your people, The sons of Jacob and Joseph. Selah.

[16] The waters [of the Red Sea] saw You, O God; The waters saw You, they were in anguish; The deeps also trembled.

[17] The clouds poured down water; The skies sent out a sound [of rumbling thunder]; Your arrows (lightning) flashed here and there.

[18] The voice of Your thunder was in the whirlwind; The lightnings illumined the world; The earth trembled and shook.

[19] Your way [of escape for Your people] was through the sea, And Your paths through the great waters, And Your footprints were not traceable.

[20] You led Your people like a flock By the hand of Moses and Aaron [to the promised goal].

Psalm 84:

10 For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand [anywhere else]; I would rather stand [as a doorkeeper] at the threshold of the house of my God Than to live [at ease] in the tents of wickedness.

[11] For the LORD God is a sun and shield; The LORD bestows grace and favor and honor; No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.

[12] O LORD of hosts, How blessed and greatly favored is the man who trusts in You [believing in You, relying on You, and committing himself to You with confident hope and expectation].

Soul Cleanse: Day 11

September 2nd, 2025

Today’s Psalms:

Psalm 67:

1 God be gracious and kind-hearted to us and bless us, And make His face shine [with favor] on us— Selah.

[2] That Your way may be known on earth, Your salvation and deliverance among all nations.

[3] Let the peoples praise You, O God; Let all the peoples praise You.

[4] Let the nations be glad and sing for joy, For You will judge the people fairly And guide the nations on earth. Selah.

[5] Let the peoples praise You, O God; Let all the peoples praise You.

[6] The earth has yielded its harvest [as evidence of His approval]; God, our God, blesses us.

[7] God blesses us, And all the ends of the earth shall fear Him [with awe-inspired reverence and submissive wonder].

Psalm 68:

1 Let God arise, and His enemies be scattered; Let those who hate Him flee before Him.

[2] As smoke is driven away, so drive them away; As wax melts before the fire, So let the wicked and guilty perish before [the presence of] God.

[3] But let the righteous be glad; let them be in good spirits before God, Yes, let them rejoice with delight.

[4] Sing to God, sing praises to His name; Lift up a song for Him who rides through the desert—His name is the LORD—be in good spirits before Him.

[5] A father of the fatherless and a judge and protector of the widows, Is God in His holy habitation.

[6] God makes a home for the lonely; He leads the prisoners into prosperity, Only the stubborn and rebellious dwell in a parched land.

[7] O God, when You went out before Your people, When You marched through the wilderness, Selah.

[8] The earth trembled; The heavens also poured down rain at the presence of God; Sinai itself trembled at the presence of God, the God of Israel.

[9] You, O God, sent abroad plentiful rain; You confirmed Your inheritance when it was parched and weary.

[10] Your flock found a dwelling place in it; O God, in Your goodness You provided for the poor.

[11] The Lord gives the command [to take Canaan]; The women who proclaim the good news are a great host (army);

[12] “The kings of the [enemies’] armies flee, they flee, And the beautiful woman who remains at home divides the spoil [left behind].”

[13] When you lie down [to rest] among the sheepfolds, You [Israel] are like the wings of a dove [of victory] overlaid with silver, Its feathers glistening with gold [trophies taken from the enemy].

[14] When the Almighty scattered [the Canaanite] kings in the land of Canaan, It was snowing on Zalmon.

[15] A mountain of God is the mountain of Bashan; A [high] mountain of many summits is Mount Bashan [rising east of the Jordan].

[16] Why do you look with envy, mountains with many peaks, At the mountain [of the city of Zion] which God has desired for His dwelling place? Yes, the LORD will dwell there forever.

[17] The chariots of God are myriads, thousands upon thousands; The Lord is among them as He was at Sinai, in holiness.

[18] You have ascended on high, You have led away captive Your captives; You have received gifts among men, Even from the rebellious also, that the LORD God may dwell there.

[19] Blessed be the Lord, who bears our burden day by day, The God who is our salvation! Selah.

[20] God is to us a God of acts of salvation; And to GOD the Lord belong escapes from death [setting us free].

Soul Cleanse: Day 10

September 1st, 2025

Today’s Psalms:

Psalm 65:

1 What mighty praise, O God, belongs to you in Zion. We will fulfill our vows to you,

[2] for you answer our prayers. All of us must come to you.

[3] Though we are overwhelmed by our sins, you forgive them all.

[4] What joy for those you choose to bring near, those who live in your holy courts. What festivities await us inside your holy Temple.

[5] You faithfully answer our prayers with awesome deeds, O God our savior. You are the hope of everyone on earth, even those who sail on distant seas.

[6] You formed the mountains by your power and armed yourself with mighty strength.

[7] You quieted the raging oceans with their pounding waves and silenced the shouting of the nations.

[8] Those who live at the ends of the earth stand in awe of your wonders. From where the sun rises to where it sets, you inspire shouts of joy.

[9] You take care of the earth and water it, making it rich and fertile. The river of God has plenty of water; it provides a bountiful harvest of grain, for you have ordered it so.

[10] You drench the plowed ground with rain, melting the clods and leveling the ridges. You soften the earth with showers and bless its abundant crops.

[11] You crown the year with a bountiful harvest; even the hard pathways overflow with abundance.

[12] The grasslands of the wilderness become a lush pasture, and the hillsides blossom with joy.

[13] The meadows are clothed with flocks of sheep, and the valleys are carpeted with grain. They all shout and sing for joy!

Psalm 66:

1 Shout joyful praises to God, all the earth!

[2] Sing about the glory of his name! Tell the world how glorious he is.

[3] Say to God, “How awesome are your deeds! Your enemies cringe before your mighty power.

[4] Everything on earth will worship you; they will sing your praises, shouting your name in glorious songs.”

[5] Come and see what our God has done, what awesome miracles he performs for people!

[6] He made a dry path through the Red Sea, and his people went across on foot. There we rejoiced in him.

[7] For by his great power he rules forever. He watches every movement of the nations; let no rebel rise in defiance. Interlude

[8] Let the whole world bless our God and loudly sing his praises.

[9] Our lives are in his hands, and he keeps our feet from stumbling.

[10] You have tested us, O God; you have purified us like silver.

1 Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised, In the city of our God, His holy mountain.

3 God, in her palaces, Has made Himself known as a stronghold.

Psalm 48:

8 As we have heard, so have we seen In the city of the LORD of hosts, in the city of our God: God will establish her forever. Selah.

[9] We have thought of Your lovingkindness, O God, In the midst of Your temple. [10] As is Your name, O God, So is Your praise to the ends of the earth; Your right hand is full of righteousness (rightness, justice).

[11] Let Mount Zion be glad, Let the daughters of Judah rejoice Because of Your [righteous] judgments.

Psalm 50:

1 The mighty One, God, the LORD, has spoken, And summoned the earth from the rising of the sun to its setting [from east to west].

[2] Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God has shone forth.

[3] May our God come and not keep silent; Fire devours before Him, And around Him a mighty tempest rages.

[4] He summons the heavens above, And the earth, to judge His people:

[5] “Gather My godly ones to Me, Those who have made a covenant with Me by sacrifice.”

[6] And the heavens declare His righteousness, For God Himself is judge. Selah.

Soul Cleanse: Day 8

Today’s Psalms:

Psalm 40:16 AMP

Let all who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; Let those who love Your salvation say continually, “The LORD be magnified!”

Psalm 45:

1 Beautiful words stir my heart. I will recite a lovely poem about the king, for my tongue is like the pen of a skillful poet.

[2] You are the most handsome of all. Gracious words stream from your lips. God himself has blessed you forever.

[3] Put on your sword, O mighty warrior! You are so glorious, so majestic!

[4] In your majesty, ride out to victory, defending truth, humility, and justice. Go forth to perform awe-inspiring deeds!

[5] Your arrows are sharp, piercing your enemies’ hearts. The nations fall beneath your feet.

[6] Your throne, O God, endures forever and ever. You rule with a scepter of justice.

[7] You love justice and hate evil. Therefore God, your God, has anointed you, pouring out the oil of joy on you more than on anyone else.

[8] Myrrh, aloes, and cassia perfume your robes. In ivory palaces the music of strings entertains you.

Psalm 46:

1 God is our refuge and strength [mighty and impenetrable], A very present and well-proved help in trouble.

[2] Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change And though the mountains be shaken and slip into the heart of the seas,

[3] Though its waters roar and foam, Though the mountains tremble at its roaring. Selah.

[4] There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, The holy dwelling places of the Most High.

[5] God is in the midst of her [His city], she will not be moved; God will help her when the morning dawns.

[6] The nations made an uproar, the kingdoms tottered and were moved; He raised His voice, the earth melted.

[7] The LORD of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our stronghold [our refuge, our high tower]. Selah.

[8] Come, behold the works of the LORD, Who has brought desolations and wonders on the earth.

[9] He makes wars to cease to the end of the earth; He breaks the bow into pieces and snaps the spear in two; He burns the chariots with fire.

[10] “Be still and know (recognize, understand) that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations! I will be exalted in the earth.”

[11] The LORD of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our stronghold [our refuge, our high tower]. Selah.

Kids In Need Update

August 29th, 2025

From the counselor:

I had a couple of stories that just came to me today that I wanted to share with you.

We have a family with 2 students that attend Bethany. Recently, the mom’s sister was murdered and this mom has taken guardianship of her 5 nieces and nephews. We are working on some things that can help them in the future, but what a gift that we will be able to put giftcards in their hands to help with some immediate needs.

I was on my way to my office this afternoon and was stopped by Chad M., who was our former assistant principal at the high school and is currently the Activities Director. There was a student last year that Mr. M. had an incredible relationship with. He told me several stories last year about the student weeping when Chad handed him a giftcard. This opened up a door to where this student knew he could trust Chad and would often come to talk to him when he needed someone in his corner. Because he needed to be able to work more to help support his family, he worked really hard to graduate early as a junior last year. Chad just informed me that he is going to CVTech to work on his HVAC license.

Your tithes and offerings have made a positive impact on these kids! Thank you.

Soul Cleanse: Day 7

August 29th, 2025

Today’s Psalms:

Psalm 36:

5 Your lovingkindness and graciousness, O LORD, extend to the skies, Your faithfulness [reaches] to the clouds.

[6] Your righteousness is like the mountains of God, Your judgments are like the great deep. O LORD, You preserve man and beast.

[7] How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! The children of men take refuge in the shadow of Your wings.

[8] They drink their fill of the abundance of Your house; And You allow them to drink from the river of Your delights.

[9] For with You is the fountain of life [the fountain of life-giving water]; In Your light we see light.

[10] O continue Your lovingkindness to those who know You, And Your righteousness (salvation) to the upright in heart.

Psalm 39:

5 Behold, You have made my days as [short as] hand widths, And my lifetime is as nothing in Your sight. Surely every man at his best is a mere breath [a wisp of smoke, a vapor that vanishes]! Selah.

[6] Surely every man walks around like a shadow [in a charade]; Surely they make an uproar for nothing; Each one builds up riches, not knowing who will receive them.

[7] “And now, Lord, for what do I expectantly wait? My hope [my confident expectation] is in You.

Psalm 40:

4 Blessed [fortunate, prosperous, and favored by God] is the man who makes the LORD his trust, And does not regard the proud nor those who lapse into lies.

[5] Many, O LORD my God, are the wonderful works which You have done, And Your thoughts toward us; There is none to compare with You. If I would declare and speak of your wonders, They would be too many to count.

[6] Sacrifice and meal offering You do not desire, nor do You delight in them; You have opened my ears and given me the capacity to hear [and obey Your word]; Burnt offerings and sin offerings You do not require.

[7] Then I said, “Behold, I come [to the throne]; In the scroll of the book it is written of me.

[8] I delight to do Your will, O my God; Your law is within my heart.”

[9] I have proclaimed good news of righteousness [and the joy that comes from obedience to You] in the great assembly; Behold, I will not restrain my lips [from proclaiming Your righteousness], As You know, O LORD.
