Maturing the Saints

April 25th, 2014

Our goal at Servias Ministries is to promote the maturing of the saints of the Most High to the point where they are drawn to serve mankind.  Only mature saints want to serve and give.  Everyone else in varying degrees wants to be served.  An infant wants and demands your full attention in order to meet his needs.  Life is all about him.  The mother is sleep-deprived for the first two or three years and then finally the child starts growing out of the phase of needing constant attention.

What is the ultimate goal of maturity as a saint?  Jesus provides the answer for He is the pattern Son.  We are to be bread to the world and minister life, we are to be HIS Disciples.  Paul wrote to Titus about walking in sound doctrine, or mature teaching without error.  It is my deepest desire to convey sound teaching in each blog I write.  I am given topics to write on which can easily be misinterpreted by the “ego” of the reader.  I must rely on the spirit man to receive the teaching.  Paul explains a fundamental truth to Titus:

Titus 1:15  To the pure all things are pure, but to those who are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure; but even their mind and conscience are defiled.

My calling in part deals in the financial aspects of the Kingdom.  At the age of 21, Our Heavenly Father directed me to the largest bank in Oklahoma when I was looking for a part=time job while finishing my degree.  The banking industry was not in my Top 100 places to work.  HE spoke to me and told me to go into that building on Friday afternoon.  At the time, I had no idea what was in the building.  In looking over my professional career, HE directed each change, without exception.  I therefore must be true to where HE has prepared and placed me.  To do otherwise would deny my gifts and calling.

One of the biggest challenges a maturing saint is to hear Our Heavenly Father in the area of money.  People have used, abused, manipulated, stolen, defrauded, and exploited others for the purpose of getting more money.  I purpose to distance myself from those whose intent is to extract money.  However, that creates a dilemma.  One of the most critical areas to mature in is the proper intent of distributing and receiving money.  Though Judas performed his calling by selling out Our Lord, that did not negate the need to have a treasury for funding the Gospel.

Money is simply a store of value that represents your past fruitfulness.  You worked for an hour and you received ten dollars.  The money isn’t inherently evil, it simply represents a store of your fruitfulness.  You cannot separate your past labor from that payment.  It is my responsibility as a brother in Christ to share “sound doctrine” to those with ears to hear.  The topic of money can easily alienate those who want to protect their “self-preserving” old man.  Those who Love me will receive and assess any words I speak to see if those words are for them this day.  Otherwise, they simply place the teaching on the shelf until they get a witness to act or respond on the teaching.

Titus 2:1 But as for you, speak the things which are proper for sound doctrine: 2 that the older men be sober, reverent, temperate, sound in faith, in love, in patience;

Do people see you and me with those qualities?  In pursuing a sound doctrine of giving to the ministry of spreading the Gospel, we must first learn to give.  People have no problem in giving away unneeded clothing or goods.  They have no problem in giving to their children, even to an excess.  However, the moment you make them aware of a need for the Gospel’s sake, they stiffen up and erect a wall.  Remember, to the pure all things are pure.  To the impure…

It is my responsibility to you to address the deeper issues that would prevent us from attaining the high calling.  Lack of cheerful giving is high on the list.  You can rationalize all day long why you shouldn’t be a giver, but in the end you simply don’t believe that Our Heavenly Father will supply your need according to HIS riches in glory.  That is the old man hanging on inside.

How do I deal with the old man in this regard?  When in doubt, give.  Practice giving, make it a custom to give, be known as a giver.  You don’t wring your hands in extended prayer when your child asks you for money.  You don’t “wait on the LORD” when your son or daughter needs a little extra assistance.  I’ve seen this double standard in people’s lives throughout my life.  There are those who would claim that Our Heavenly Father’s sovereignty has dictated their current financial state.  Could it be that until you have a change of heart concerning money that you will continue in lack?  Our Heavenly Father managed to move upon men to fund the building of the Temple.

Until the saints overcome the old man in the area of finances, full and complete unity will not be attained.  That is the one area 95% of you struggle with.  How did I come up with the number?  That is roughly how many participated but did not help fund the Passover Conference.  Listen closely!  My wife and I would have funded the cost on our own without issue.  Why?  Because Our Heavenly  Father told us to participate and HE has a history of supplying our need and reimbursing us for whatever HE required when no one else chose to participate.  I understand how the storehouse in Heaven operates thus it is my responsibility to you to share the revelation.  Had each person simply given $10 to the effort, our expenses would have been more than offset.  It is ironic, people have a PC and have Internet connection but don’t contribute at all.  It is a heart issue.

Many are waiting on the Iraqi Dinar RV to give.  If you are not a giver now, I doubt that you will become much of one if and when a financial windfall occurs.  In the meantime, people will live in scarcity.  In times past, I simply took the position that I would prefer Our Heavenly Father to simply provide me with the finances to fund the Kingdom since I had a willing heart.  I had no problem giving as HE directed.  However, HE wants all the saints to get the revelation of giving.  If you won’t give your money, you won’t die to the flesh either.

Don’t give money that you don’t possess.  If you have a rent or house payment, you don’t direct that money to other destinations.  That is being lawless.  You alone can determine what money is lawfully available to give.

Another question arises: How do I know that they will do the right thing with the money I send?  Your accountability and responsibility ends when you are obedient to give.  The recipient now has the sole responsibility to properly handle the funds.  I would suggest that there is a greater ramification to the recipient for failure to proper handle the funds than the giver.  Our Heavenly Father rewards intent, or judges it as the case may be.  By the way, misuse of money does not limit HIS ability to bless you.  HE will use just weights and measure to bless you in your cheerful giving, independent of the recipient’s actions.

I encourage you to revisit the Scriptures dealing in provision.  Do not give because you think Servias needs your money.  We knew when we agreed to financially backstop the conference that there may be insufficient giving.  How did we know this?  It is my understanding that past conferences were not fully funded by the attendees.  It is time that we stepped up to the reality that spreading the Gospel isn’t free.  We seem to acknowledge that reality in almost every other aspect of our daily lives.  Today’s blog is a hard word to some.  If it offended you, you might want to study the Scriptures on Love again.  If it convicted you, you might want to start practicing giving until you can hear HIS Voice in that area.  Is it possible that you could not hear what you were not ready to receive?

Read 1 Chronicles 29.

By the way, is Our Heavenly Father a cheerful Giver?

A Citizen of Heaven

April 24th, 2014

In our weekly Bible study, Kemper has mentioned Heavenly citizenship several times.  Citizenship is the status of a person recognized under the Law of the jurisdiction that bestows on that person (called a citizen) the rights and the duties of citizenship.  What prevents us from receiving our Heavenly citizenship status?  At the core, it is the spirit of “self-preservation”.  The false self wants to preserve its current way of life even though it is one of scarcity.  It is always in lack or need.  Peace is a distant reality always out of reach to one who focuses on “self”.  Paul discusses Heavenly citizenship in Philippians 3.  He first gives real examples of himself and others:

17 Brethren, join in following my example, and note those who so walk, as you have us for a pattern.

A pattern is a specific example to imitate with the purpose of achieving the same result.  Jesus was the pattern Son as our example.  Everyone wants to achieve the result of a glorified body, but how many are truly walking out the path to get there?  People need examples that promote Love, maturity, and lawfulness.  The examples must minister life to others, not just your “vertical” relationship with Our Heavenly Father.  We are called to Love mankind in whatever capacity and opportunity we have as individuals.  If we simply sit in our prayer closets all day, we have done nothing for our brother (except of course if you are called as an intercessor).  Don’t get me wrong, quality time with Our Heavenly Father is critical.  However, if you do nothing on the “horizontal” side of ministering to others, you are missing the point of being a disciple of Christ.  We are called to serve mankind.  Paul continues….

18 For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: 19 whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame—who set their mind on earthly things.

Who is an enemy to the Cross?  The one who serves “self”, whose god is their belly, one who focuses on earthly things.  It is that spirit of self-preservation.  Those who fail to place their carnal nature on the Cross will experience destruction.  Those who deny “self” will satisfy the requirements of citizenship in Heaven and attain the rights given to all of its citizens:

20 For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.

A primary enemy to “self-preservation” is giving.  How do I know this?  Simply look at the qualities of the lawless.  They are “takers”, not “givers”.  Their goal is to extract as much from others as they can.  In contrast, Our Heavenly Father gave HIS Son.  Giving is a primary characteristic of a mature son or daughter of Our Heavenly Father.  What better example of this than Jesus giving Himself on the Cross.  Jesus said: "Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure–pressed down, shaken together, and running over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return."  I have found that this Scripture applies to many facets of life.  If you give kindness, you receive kindness.  If you promote hatred, you receive hatred.   Yes, if you give money, you will receive money.  People want to stay away from the money topic because of its past abuses.  That does not change the reality of this Scripture.  Those who are givers know what I am talking about.  Your responsibility is to give and your blessing isn’t determined by the recipient’s proper use.  Your blessing is determined by your intent.  Our Heavenly Father will reward your willingness to give with the proper intent.  Your carnal nature cannot understand this reality and thus will convince you to hold on to your money.  It will rationalize away any unction to give.  When Jesus spoke those words in Luke 6:38, He had just said to judge not.  One of the greatest hindrances to giving is judging the recipient.  When Our Heavenly Father tells me to give, I must not judge the person receiving the gift.  That is HIS job.  My responsibility is to be obedient to giving.  The test of giving is to see if you are led by self-preservation and rationalization.  I have found over the years that if HE says to give and I delay, my old man will begin to provide a myriad of reasons not to give.  Instead, I have learned to respond quickly.  HE has blessed my family accordingly.  If you are a reluctant giver, whatever blessing designated to you will be hindered to the same degree.  Just weights and measures apply to giving as they do to other areas.

In order to mature, each of us must deal with this topic and its ramifications.  To be a citizen of Heaven, we cannot omit certain requirements because people are sensitive about them.  Don’t let your belly dictate your direction.

Feast of Passover Conference by the Numbers

April 24th, 2014

Between Thom Mills’ emails and my monitoring of the actual concurrent viewers of the conference on Ustream, we had over 300 people participate.  Thank you for attending.  Had these people actually travelled to a single location for the three day conference, the out of pocket costs would have probably exceeded $75,000 and required two days of additional travel time for many.  Our actual broadcast cost is estimated to be less than $2,000.  This does not account for the existing equipment purchased and already in place by Servias or Thom Mills.  I would conclude that the value was realized.

To date, 15 people have contributed to Servias specifically to offset the conference costs.  Those who hosted sites also contributed by providing resources at their specific locationl.  Thank you!  Those who contributed time and money are an encouragement to pursue this medium of spreading the Gospel to those unable to travel and attend feasts in person.

We received several compliments and some constructive criticisms.  Broadcast quality was the biggest issue.  To achieve quality, it costs money, it’s that simple.  Selah!

Prepare for 5 Months?

April 23rd, 2014

This morning I was led to the Book of Revelations, specifically the first few verses of chapter 9:

Fifth Trumpet: The Locusts from the Bottomless Pit

1 Then the fifth angel sounded: And I saw a star fallen from heaven to the earth. To him was given the key to the bottomless pit. 2 And he opened the bottomless pit, and smoke arose out of the pit like the smoke of a great furnace. So the sun and the air were darkened because of the smoke of the pit. 3 Then out of the smoke locusts came upon the earth. And to them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power. 4 They were commanded not to harm the grass of the earth, or any green thing, or any tree, but only those men who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads. 5 And they were not given authority to kill them, but to torment them for five months. Their torment was like the torment of a scorpion when it strikes a man. 6 In those days men will seek death and will not find it; they will desire to die, and death will flee from them.

  NKJV

My specific focus in this passage is the time frame of five months and the fact that those who have the “seal of God” were not affected.  One can argue the prophetic aspects of this book all day long.  In the big picture however, time cycles tend to be recurring and events parallel past events during those time cycles.  This would appear to be a time of transition.  Those who do not have the seal will experience severe pain.  Could this pain be economic in nature?  The fact that green things would not be harmed would indicate that “life” would not be touched.  As a note, the third ring on our unity153 logo is green representing life on earth.  The red represents the Blood of Christ and the gold ring represents Divine Life.  How appropriate.

He who has the key has the power to open and shut.  Locusts are to be released whose job is to devour.  Could it be that fiat currencies will be devoured at some time in the near future?  Their torment would be similar to a scorpion due to the pain that would be inflicted on the flesh.  Those who have relied on money and other forms of material wealth rather than a relationship with Our Heavenly Father are in for some challenging times ahead.  The essence of today’s post is simply to ask the questions:  Do you have the Seal?  What or who do you trust in?  Those who are prepared will certainly weather any storm ahead and will not perish.  Whether it is this year, next year, or ten years from now.  It is better to be prepared a day early rather than a day late.

Turmoil escalating toward the October

April 22nd, 2014

Social unrest is increasing around the world.  Food prices are increasing and causing citizens around the world to question their political leaders.  Food protein prices are up 17.3% in China.  Inflation in food prices are up double digits in the U.S.  16.5% increase in utility rates also adds insult to injury.

The West plans to write off debt by inflating their currency.  The Kings of the East know this is coming for they are holding a notable chunk of the West’s debt.  China and Russia have quit buying U.S. Debt.  Right now, Belgium is the biggest buyer of U.S. debt.  Huh?  Why is some little country buying our debt?  It is being orchestrated to keep the masses from seeing the brevity of the problem.  The raw statistics of placement of government debt to non-U.S. entities are factual but misleading.  Belgium?  Really???

Richard Russell, a well known, seasoned investment letter writer, sees the dollar collapsing in months, not years.  Others of notable credentials and experience are also crying out to anyone who will listen.  It would appear that all of these global events are converging toward October.  Why October?  Historically speaking, negative economic events tend to occur that month.  People tend to focus on personal events throughout the summer.  Europeans tend to take vacations (up to 6 weeks) and get back to work in October.  They then assess the economic state of things and begin to respond.  Moreover, the fall Feast of Tabernacles will coincide with this economic convergence.  Is this the year?  Only Our Heavenly Father knows.  We should live every year as though the fullness of times is at hand.  We should be of the five wise virgins and have our lamps ready.  Citizens of the Kingdom will be the most prepared group when the collapse comes.

Assets versus Liabilities

April 22nd, 2014

In Philippians Chapter 3, Paul speaks of worldly assets being Heavenly liabilities.  He starts out by referencing his past resume:

:4 though I also might have confidence in the flesh. If anyone else thinks he may have confidence in the flesh, I more so: 5 circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of the Hebrews; concerning the law, a Pharisee; 6 concerning zeal, persecuting the church; concerning the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.  NKJV

In that day, he was among the well-educated class of people and he had achieved great stature in his particular vocation.  He was the epitome of success in that day, and at a young age.  After his encounter with Christ, his priorities totally changed:

:7 But whatever things were gain to me, those things I have counted as loss for the sake of Christ.  NASB

After Paul’s encounter with Christ, all of his past titles, education, and stature among the world were of no value to him… they were as a loss.  He realized that his loyalty to the worldly state of Israel was of no value.  It was time to change his citizenship status.  Those precious assets of the past were simply liabilities to him now.

Here in the U.S., many of us have examples of what we thought were assets, were truly liabilities.  Liabilities are a drain to the balance sheet.  They reflect debt and obligations that require some type of payment in the future.  Boat owners understand the concept of assets becoming liabilities all too well.  You buy the boat thinking that you are going to enjoy it every weekend in the spring, summer and fall.  At first, it is heavily used.  As each year passes, you use the boat less but spend money to store it and keep it in working order.  As time passes, your priorities change and the boat becomes a liability.  You finally reconcile the fact that it would be cheaper to rent a boat for the weekend than to own a boat year round.  The second happiest day of owning a boat is the day you sell it.  This is true with other “stuff” as well.

As we are led to change our citizenship from the world’s system to Heaven, we no longer need the trappings of the world.  The things of the world are counted as “loss”:

3:8 More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish so that I may gain Christ,

This reality occurs in those who have truly seen a change in their life.  Their priorities are now focused toward the higher things in Heaven, thus their allegiance is toward the Kingdom of Our Heavenly Father.  When this change occurs we no longer rely on the “letter” of the Law, but instead on the “Spirit” of the Law.  Love, faith, and hope overtake us as our citizenship is transferred:

9 and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; 10 that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, 11 if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.

We now realize there is a cost of transferring our citizenship:  fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death.  Our false self wants to retain those liabilities by convincing us they are assets.  The worldly assets are in constant decay.  They have no future and they provide temporary satisfaction at best.  Paul further states that those who are mature understand the goal: the upward call of GOD in Christ Jesus:

12 Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. 13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

Let us press toward that goal and as a consequence, our citizenship will be transferred.  Our hearts will lead us into the change.  Love will draw us out of the world and its trappings and into the everlasting Kingdom.  We will shed any weight that would hinder our focus.  We will align ourselves with others who also have made the decision to transfer the citizenship upward.  When you move to a new residence in a distant land, you sell off the unwanted assets and remove all liabilities of the past.  You start fresh.  Your assets now equal your equity and you you are now free to minister Love and life without hindrance.

15 Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind; and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you. 16 Nevertheless, to the degree that we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule,fn let us be of the same mind.

Our Citizenship in Heaven:

17 Brethren, join in following my example, and note those who so walk, as you have us for a pattern. 18 For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: 19 whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame—who set their mind on earthly things. 20 For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.

Sunday Morning Passover Conference Statistics

April 21st, 2014

I am able to monitor totals during a live broadcast on our ustream channel.

Yesterday morning (Sunday), I stepped out of the session to go back to the office and check the numbers.

153 PC’s were watching the live broadcast at the moment I brought up the statistics.  Since we know that many PC’s had more than one viewer (we had 10), I would estimate that we definitely exceeded 200 live viewers.

During Saturday’s conference, 8 countries besides the U.S. were watching live.

PC’s from 37 states were live as well.

Thanks for joining this event.

Why do you call me “egghead”?

Gathering and Dividing

April 21st, 2014

The Passover Conference this weekend is a sign of a much bigger picture.  The people around the world are gathering and dividing at the same time.  They are gathering in one accord to split away from the repressive system that has held them captive.  The Ukraine is an example of the situation.  The country is saddled with huge debt brought on by the western influence and the people in the eastern part of the country have had enough.  They want to change their citizenship back to Russia where the economy is much better.  This is happening in other countries as well.  People are tired of being controlled by some group of elites that live in some distant town, state, or province, enriching themselves at the expense of the rest of the citizens.  Think about it, you live your entire life submitting to a noble standard only to find that those in charge have been lying and stealing from you the entire time.  What do you do?  Distance yourself from them.  That is happening in many countries around the world.

What citizenship do you want to be associated with?  As for my wife and I, we choose Heaven.  This conference is about the initial, global gathering together of those who believe their citizenship is in the Heavenly realm.  These citizens reside across geographical borders on earth but are gathered together in the Spirit.  The Body of Christ must assemble together to operate in the fullness of its calling.  Spiritual battles have occurred and those who have been tasked in conducting spiritual warfare have been active as we approach the end of the age.  As I mentioned in my session on economics, there will be a bridge or time of transition while this age comes to its completion.  We should focus our attention and resources on embracing the fact that we are gathering together.  It is not business as usual.

The gathering will continue and our method of communication and sharing will allow our numbers to continue to increase.  There is still much to be done.  If you care to actively participate in working with us to build out the infrastructure to promote the gathering, share your resources by contributing.  We are looking for cheerful givers that are embracing this vision of gathering.  Clearly, the vision will manifest because Our Heavenly Father will provide.  The only question is who will be blessed in this aspect of the gathering of the saints of the Most High.  My wife and I are “all in”.

1 John 3:16 By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. 17 But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?  18  My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.
