The Beloved Disciple wrote to us in 1 John chapter 3:
1 Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called Sons of God, and indeed we are! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.
2 Beloved, now we are Sons of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.
3 And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.
We who have the revelation of being “Sons” confirm this reality by our desire to purify ourselves until we have become pure as He (Jesus Christ) is. The intent of these daily writings is to promote the purification process by focusing on The Word and Its application in our lives. Purification comes by hearing and meditating daily, not by occasional study. I am subjected to the world’s influence on a daily basis thus I intend to keep myself pure by daily study and meditation of The Word and I urge you to do the same. I have seen certain people who were once committed to walking this path of purity allow themselves to become influenced by the world’s view. Their Love for mankind has grown cold and ineffective.
In chapter 2:
3 Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments.
4 He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
5 But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him.
6 He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.
The word “abide” indicates a close, intimate (and permanent) relationship between the believer and FATHER. As we study, meditate, and ponder HIS Word we become closer to FATHER and HIS redemptive nature. As we take on HIS nature we begin to genuinely and unconditionally Love our neighbor and ultimately all of mankind. We can truly forgive them for they know not what they do.
Every person acts according to their true level of revelation so how can we expect them to walk according to our expectation? Only by ministering FATHER’S Word in Love will their revelation increase to a higher state.
9 He who says he is in the light, and hates his brother, is in darkness until now.
10 He who loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling in him.
11 But he who hates his brother is in darkness and walks in darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.
This is the test of our maturity and purity: do we hate anyone? Hatred reveals that a person is in darkness and he has no direction due to his blindness. Are we promoting and known for our unconditional Love or would we be described with some worldly attribute associated with self interest? As our purity increases shouldn’t we become more Christ-like? My desire to to be like Him and see Him as He is and His purpose should become my purpose in life. John wrote in chapter 3:
7 Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous.
8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.
9 Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.
Love conquers all and the enemy is defeated as we walk in unconditional Love toward others. FATHER’S redemptive nature becomes real to others as we minister HIS Love toward them resulting in their eyes being opened. Our purpose should be fully aligned with FATHER’S Divine Intent as expressed in HIS first begotten Son Jesus Christ. As John wrote by THE SPIRIT “My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.” We know if our works reflect unconditional Love then we are walking according to HIS purpose.
