Galatians 6:7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.
This law was established in Genesis- each will produce after its own kind. Paul warned the Galatians about returning to the bondage of the Law. Many were considering outward circumcision as though cutting away some flesh would make a difference in the spirit. Keeping the Law in an outward fashion does not make one more spiritual. The outward change does not precede the inward change. On the contrary, we must change in our hearts and then the good fruit will come.
8 For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life
What are you sowing or planting in your heart? Do you really think that outward acts will make you righteous on the inside? Our Heavenly Father’s Word is what cleanses us and as we receive HIS Word by reading it or hearing HIM in our prayer closet, we will change. We must be patient:
9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
As the Word cleanses you, your intent begins to line up with Our Heavenly Father’s Character and Intent. As we remove the outward distractions of man’s customs and other controlling mechanisms, we will no longer plant the seeds of legalism. Paul tells us: “ 4 But let each one examine his own work, and then he will have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another”. What fruit are you producing? Are you positively impacting someone’s life?
10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.
As you purpose, your actions will follow. Carnal men “take”, Sons of GOD “give”.
