Our Light Affliction

2 Corinthians 4:16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.

17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory,

18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

The current system and manifestation is temporary.  Our Heavenly Father Who raised Jesus Christ from the dead will raise us up as well.  We are eternal beings  We existed before we were formed in the womb, we have a covenant to accomplish on earth, and we will be raised from the dead when our bodies perish.  Life on this earth is but a small aspect of our entire life.

Each of us may suffer a light affliction but be of good cheer, it will not be in vain.  As Our Heavenly Father opens our eyes to the unseen, the temporal will be of little value to us.

What is necessary to open our eyes?  I believe it is the maturing of our revelation of Love.  What else is foundational to being a good steward over the mysteries of HIS Kingdom?  Without Love, you will exploit revelation for personal gain.  You will feed the flesh at the expense of others.  We have been given many examples in the recent decades of this reality.  It was for our instruction and observation.  It was a warning to us as well.

The path of the righteous is narrow and those who pursue Love in earnest are few and far between.  Why?  It is the ultimate and final battle with the old man.  Once the Baptism of Love enters in, the old man is defeated.  The reality is that there are really not that many of the brethren who have a deep and strong desire for the full revelation of Love.  The mind would rather spend time generating worldly issues to solve.  The ego is an expert at misdirection if given the opportunity.  Studying Scripture with the wrong intent will not get you to the fullness of Love.  Saul (who was Paul) is a testimony to that truth.

It’s all about intent.  You can suffer affliction with the wrong intent and will gain nothing.  If you suffer affliction with the right intent, you will gain the Kingdom.  Only you and Our Heavenly Father know your intent.  You have the ability to hide it from everyone else.  However, ultimately your fruit will reflect your intent.  Let us all suffer our light affliction for the right reason or intent.
