Plan A
September 28, 2026 – 3:47 amFor a mature believer, there is only plan A!
You and I are Heaven’s authorized representatives and have been given Heavenly authority and power of attorney. Jesus goes into this transfer of authority specifically in John chapters 13 through 17 as I covered previously.
Jesus spoke in Matthew chapter 6:
24 “How could you worship two gods at the same time? You will have to hate one and love the other, or be devoted to one and despise the other. You can’t worship and serve the True God while enslaved to the god of money!”
By definition, a slave cannot effectively serve two masters.
James wrote by The Holy Spirit in James chapter 1:
2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials,
3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.
4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.
5 If any of you lacks Wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and It will be given to him.
6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.
7 For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord;
8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
The carnal mind will attempt to talk you out of FATHER’S directives, especially when it comes to finances. When The Holy Spirit gives you instructions to follow, don’t delay. Why? The moment you delay, the mind will begin to provide you with other alternatives, also known as plan B. This double-mindedness compromises your trust in GOD in the most subtle way.
Jesus spoke in Luke chapter 9:
57 On their way, someone came up to Jesus and said, “I want to follow You wherever You go.”
58 Jesus replied, “Yes, but remember this: even animals in the field have holes in the ground to sleep in, and birds have their nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay down his head.”
59 Jesus then turned to another and said, “Come be my disciple.” He replied, “Someday I will, Lord, but allow me first to fulfill my duty as a good son and wait until my father passes away.”
60 Jesus told him, “Don’t wait for your father’s burial. Let those who are already dead wait for death. As for you, go and proclaim everywhere that God’s Kingdom has arrived.”
This idiom “waiting until his father passed away” meant he wanted an inheritance in this life as his security. His trust was in the temporary riches of this world.
61 Still another said to him, “Lord, I want to follow you too. But first let me go home and say good-bye to my entire family.”
62 Jesus responded, “Why do you keep looking back to your past and have second thoughts about following Me? If you turn back you are not fit for God’s Kingdom.”
What are “second thoughts”? They are attempting to formulate a plan B.
James also wrote in James chapter 4:
7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
Every time you submit to a directive of GOD, you draw nearer to HIM, confirming your trust IN HIM. By doing that, you are walking out Plan A with power and authority to fulfill HIS Plan!
