Establishing Dominion

When we worship the One Who has creative power, we are to co-labor with Him and establish HIS Kingdom by ruling, reigning, and caring for the earth!

Moses recorded by The Holy Spirit in Genesis chapter 1:

26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our Image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

27 So God created man in His Own Image; in the Image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

The essence of dominion, not domination, is to steward and govern creation with Wisdom, compassion, and righteousness, just as GOD does.  In this sense, Sons and Daughters are to function as small “g” gods, not divine in essence, but divine in appointment.

The word Elohim sometimes refers to human rulers or judges, revealing that they operate under delegated authority.  The represent GOD’S rule on earth, serving as extension of HIS justice and order within the created world.  You and I are intended to serve mankind in Wisdom and out of Agape Love, not enslave mankind.

Our mandate from Above is stated many times throughout Scripture.  One such expression is recorded by The Holy Spirit in Psalm chapter 82:

3 “Defend the defenseless, the fatherless and the forgotten, the disenfranchised and the destitute.

4 Your duty is to deliver the poor and the powerless; liberate them from the grasp of the wicked.

What happens if you don’t embrace FATHER’S mandate?

5 But you continue in your darkness and ignorance while the foundations of society are shaken to the core!

6 Didn’t I commission you as judges, saying, ‘You are all like gods, since you judge on my behalf. You are all like sons of the Most High, My representatives.’

7 Nevertheless, in death you are nothing but mere men! You will be laid in the ground like any prince and you will die.”

8 All rise! For God now takes His place as Judge of all the earth. Don’t you know that everything and everyone belongs to Him? The nations will be sifted in His Hands!

Corrupt judges will be judged by GOD HIMSELF!

All power is borrowed, all authority is delegated, and all ruler, no matter how exalted, remain answerable to the One True God.  Each will face judgment for how they used authority entrusted to them.

This brings up a critical point to understand.  There is a Courtroom in Heaven, FATHER is The Judge, and Jesus is our Advocate.

The Beloved Disciple wrote by The Holy Spirit in 1st John chapter 2:

1 My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the Righteous.

2 He is the atoning Sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.

Jesus is our Defense Attorney in the Court.  The accuser of the brethren attempts to gain authority over us by both our past and current sins.  How do we plead?  We repent and declare The Blood of Jesus over our lives.  When this happens, The Judge rules that there is no basis for the accuser in HIS Court.  All accusations are dismissed.

If you are constantly dealing with unrighteous thoughts that seem to draw your focus away from Who you are in Christ, I suggest you obtain the book The Prayer of Freedom by Beatty Carmichael.  It will guide you to true freedom in your mind and free you from emotional trauma, chronic pain, and addictions.
