We are to only worship the One Who has creative power!
False gods have no creative power. All they can do is sit there and gather dust. Budha statutes do nothing.
It is recorded by The Holy Spirit in Isaiah chapter 44:
13 The woodworker stretches out a measuring line, then marks it and fashions his idol-god with his carving tools. Then he uses a stylus to trace it out on the wood and shapes it into the figure of a man, trying to make it look like a beautiful human to be displayed somewhere in a shrine.
14 He chooses a cedar or a cypress or an oak, but first lets it grow strong in the forest. He plants a pine tree, and it is nourished by the rain.
15 The wood serves man for fuel; some he uses to warm himself and with some he bakes his bread. But from this same wood he also makes a god to worship and bows down to the idol he formed.
16 Half of the wood he burns in the fire to roast his meat. Then he eats his fill and is satisfied. Part he uses to warm himself and says, “Ah, I’m warm and cozy sitting by the fire.”
17 With the rest of it he makes his idol-god, bows down to it, and worships it! He prays to it, saying, “Save me, for you are my god!”
18 They have no clue what they’re doing and don’t comprehend how absurd it is! For they shut their eyes so they cannot see. They close their hearts so they cannot understand.
19 They have no knowledge, no understanding, no discernment to say, “Half of the wood I burned in the fire. I roasted meat and cooked my dinner. Now should I take the rest of the wood and make it into an abomination? Should I bow down and worship a block of wood?”
20 He feeds his spirit on ashes! His deluded heart leads him astray. He can’t even ask himself, “Is this thing I’m holding in my right hand a fraud?”
The term ex nihilo is from Latin and means: creation out of nothing and that matter is not eternal but had to be created by a Divine creative act.
THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY is the only ONE WHO can create matter by a Divine act. In contrast, the false gods and idols can do nothing. They are created by man and have no Life source in them.
Moses recorded by The Holy Spirit in Genesis chapter 1:
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
And it is written by The Holy Spirit in Hebrews chapter 11:
3 Faith empowers us to see that the universe was created and beautifully coordinated by the power of God’s Words! He spoke and the invisible realm gave birth to all that is seen.
GOD created man from the inanimate dust of the earth. HIS Breath brought forth Life to all living things, including man. Every animal, fish, microscopic life, planetary systems, all came into existence from “nothing”. GOD could even bring forth life from a rock or a piece of wood.
All celestial (spiritual) beings, and all terrestrial (physical) creatures, were created by HIM and through HIM.
Paul wrote by The Holy Spirit in Colossians chapter 1:
16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.
In other Words, for in HIM was created the universe of things, both in the heavenly realm and on the earth, all that is seen and all that is unseen. Every seat of power, realm of government, principality, and authority—it all exists through Him and for His purpose!
Since GOD alone holds creative power, gods are by-products of human invention and demonic deception. They possess no souls and no spirit. They are simply inanimate, lifeless, constructs of human imagination. They are powerless idols, not entities with divine origin or authority.
THE LORD spoke to Moses in Leviticus chapter 19:
4 ‘Do not turn to idols, nor make for yourselves molded gods: I am the LORD your God.’
If you have anything in your house that could be considered an idol, you should remove it and plead the Blood of Jesus over your household. Do not allow yourself to idolize anyone or anything.
