The Focus Of Our Hope

We should focus our hope on Eternity!

King David recorded by The Holy Spirit in Psalm chapter 39:

1-2 Here’s my life motto, the Truth I live by: I will guard my ways for all my days. I will speak only what is right, guarding what I speak. Like a watchman guards against an attack of the enemy, I’ll guard and muzzle my mouth when the wicked are around me. I will remain silent and will not grumble or speak out of my disappointment. But the longer I’m silent, the more my pain grows worse!

3-4 My heart burned with a fire within me, and my thoughts eventually boiled over until they finally came rolling out of my mouth: “Lord, help me to know how fleeting my time on earth is. Help me to know how limited is my life and that I’m only here but for a moment more.

5 What a brief time You’ve given me to live! Compared to You my lifetime is nothing at all! Nothing more than a puff of air—I’m gone so swiftly. So too are the grandest of men; they are nothing but a fleeting shadow!”

Pause in His Presence (Selah)

6 We live our lives like those living in shadows. All our activities and energies are spent for things that pass away. We gather, we hoard, we cling to our things, only to leave them all behind for who knows who.

7 And now, God, I’m left with one conclusion: my only hope is to hope in You alone!

How vital it is to only place our hope in Our Heavenly Father and allow nothing on earth to redirect our hope in men or things!  Is your future here on earth based on your financial wealth?

Wisdom wrote by The Holy Spirit in Proverbs chapter 23:

4 Do not overwork to be rich; Because of your own understanding, cease!

5 Will you set your eyes on that which is not? For riches certainly make themselves wings; They fly away like an eagle toward heaven.

In recent years, I have seen people acquire houses for investment purposes with the expectation that the value of housing will never go down.  Wrong!  During the mid-1980’s, real estate went down in many areas by 40%.  Those who were leveraged lost everything.  Their wealth DID have wings!  We must not trust in the temporal riches here on earth.  Their value is subject to change in the blink of an eye.  We must place our trust in GOD, not man.  HE is our Hope.

We must live conscious of the Eternal on a daily basis.  Those who have acquired wealth tend to place their hope in riches, forgetting the Eternal.  That is a mistake!

Those who go through seasons of great breakthrough, great healing and miracles, great financial blessings, provisions, promotions at work, tend to redirect their focus toward the temporal.  If this path is left unchecked, they will become void of HIS Word and potentially face calamity in their life.  They forget that those blessings are demonstrations of the Heart and Nature of THE FATHER which is supposed to keep our focus on Eternity.

We must protect ourselves from allowing our focus to be redirected to those blessings that FATHER provides.  HE is our hope.
