Two Events: Part 10

The Beloved Disciple notifies the churches of the second event in chapter 1 of The Revelation of Jesus Christ and at the same time, he tells us of the special blessing to all who read AND hear the Words of this prophecy!

John recorded what was given to him by Jesus Himself in Revelation chapter 1:

The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants-things which must shortly take place. And He sent and signified it by His angel to His servant John,

2 who bore witness to the Word of God, and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, to all things that he saw.  Jesus sent an angel to “sign-ify” the Truth John was to record.

The beginning of this Book provides us with vital understanding.  It is not Revelations in the plural, but it is Revelation in the singular.  This Book IS about Jesus Christ, His Nature, and His Purpose for all of mankind.

3 Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the Words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near.

As I have mentioned before, this is the only Book of the sixty-six Books in the Bible that promises a special blessing!  This is exactly why The Holy Spirit has had me focus on this Revelation in great detail.  I cannot expect you to agree with every word I have written, it is your responsibility to glean the revelation yourself.

4 John, to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace to you and peace from Him Who is and Who was and Who is to come, and from the Seven Spirits who are before His Throne,

5 and from Jesus Christ, the Faithful Witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the Ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him Who Loved us and washed us from our sins in His Own Blood,

6 and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

There were seven churches who “signified” the state of the hundreds of churches in existence at that time.  This Revelation is noted as being specifically from The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit.

The first event is referenced when John wrote “He has made us kings and priests” which has already occurred in the prophecy.

7 Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen.

Here, John records the second event when ALL will see Him, and all will mourn because of Him.  If you have been made a king AND priest, you will not be mourning… you will be joyful.  The Jews were never allowed to be both a king and priest, so this is not referencing the Jews.

8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “Who is and Who was and Who is to come, the Almighty.”

Jesus is no longer the son of man but is now The Son of GOD and is equal with HIS FATHER, the Almighty.

These first eight verses are rich with revelation themselves.  I must admit that in the past, I did not pay close attention to what was being said.  I have been guilty of blasting through introductions.  I repent!  Ever Word is vital to our understanding for FATHER would not have placed Words there simply as “fillers”.  This is without question an Integrated Message System given for our benefit.  To him who has ears, let him hear!
