Spiritual Confrontation

We are to fight by Spiritual means!

Jesus confronted the demons in Mark chapter 3:

10  For He healed many, so that as many as had afflictions pressed about Him to touch Him.

11 And the unclean spirits, whenever they saw Him, fell down before Him and cried out, saying, “You are the Son of God.”

12 But He sternly warned them that they should not make Him known.

Jesus confronted the demon-possessed man in Mark chapter 5:

7  And the man cried out with a loud voice and said, “What have I to do with You, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I implore You by God that You do not torment me.”

8  For He said to him, “Come out of the man, unclean spirit!”

9 Then He asked him, “What is your name?” And he answered, saying, “My name is Legion; for we are many.”

10 Also he begged Him earnestly that He would not send them out of the country. 11 Now a large herd of swine was feeding there near the mountains.

12 So all the demons begged Him, saying, “Send us to the swine, that we may enter them.”

13 And at once Jesus gave them permission. Then the unclean spirits went out and entered the swine (there were about two thousand); and the herd ran violently down the steep place into the sea, and drowned in the sea.

And Luke recorded by The Holy Spirit in Acts chapter 19:

11  God kept releasing a flow of extraordinary miracles through the hands of Paul. 12 Because of this, people took Paul’s handkerchiefs and articles of clothing, even pieces of cloth that had touched his skin, laying them on the bodies of the sick, and diseases and demons left them and they were healed.

13-14 Now, there were seven itinerant Jewish exorcists, sons of Sceva the high priest, who took it upon themselves to use the name and authority of Jesus over those who were demonized. They would say, “We cast you out in the name of the Jesus that Paul preaches!”

15 One day, when they said those words, the demon in the man replied, “I know about Jesus, and I recognize Paul, but who do you think you are?

16 Then the demonized man jumped on them and threw them to the ground, beating them mercilessly. He overpowered the seven exorcists until they all ran out of the house naked and badly bruised.

17 All of the people in Ephesus were awestruck, both Jews and non-Jews, when they heard about what had happened. Great fear fell over the entire city, and the authority of the Name of Jesus was exalted.

18 Many believers publicly confessed their sins and disclosed their secrets.

How many of us have the assurance that the demons would not only know us but fear the delegated power and authority given to us by Our Lord Jesus?  Are you ready to boldly confront a demon-possessed person in faith?  Those who are, will see unusual miracles similar to Paul’s fruitfulness.

Jesus gave us examples of binding and loosing when He dealt with the enemy.  When we come into full maturity, we will not hesitate to confront the devil and his minions.  The authority of the Name of Jesus will be exalted!

Let us be known as overcomers rather than those who have been overcome.

Paul wrote by The Holy Spirit in 2nd Corinthians chapter 10:

3  For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh.

4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds,

5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ

The strongholds of the enemy, whether internal or external, are to be pulled down  and removed from our midst.
