Distraction and Misdirection

November 17th, 2012

One of the greatest challenges aspiring Overcomers must deal with is the subtlety of distraction and misdirection. I can attest to you that looking back over my lifetime I have fallen victim to these insidious twins many times. The adversary uses both of these tools to deceive us and render our gifts and callings ineffective.

How many of us have been on a wild goose chase? We assumed that we were suppose to go down a particular path because it was so appealing to our flesh and we went under the auspices of our calling. We looked for a sign to support our decision and of course a sign was easily provided to support our assumption and desire. What we failed to do was to ask Our Heavenly Father AND hear HIS response concerning the decision to proceed. Am I the only one who failed to do this?

Let us look at the Apostle Paul’s first missionary journey tied to his calling. Paul had spent fourteen years after his conversion in preparation for his calling (Gal 2:1). The number fourteen being a multiple of seven, partakes of its significance; and, being double that number, implies a double measure of spiritual perfection. Fourteen times in the Book of Proverbs the expression occurs "the fear of the Lord" which implies that as we reach spiritual perfection we will truly operate in the fear of the Lord. There is nothing disclosed about those years other than the time frame mentioned by Paul himself. During that time, he was still known as Saul, this name means "desired". King Saul was described in 1 Sam 9:2- "a choice and handsome son whose name was Saul. There was not a more handsome person than he among the children of Israel. From his shoulders upward he was taller than any of the people ". It appears that he was somewhat of a celebrity among the people. Many people assume outward beauty is a reflection of some special anointing and recognition by Our Heavenly Father. The beauty is a distraction to shift our focus away from Our Heavenly Father’s perfect plan, will, and purpose. I am sure this description fit Paul’s character before his conversion.

After Paul’s time of preparation he ends up at the church in Antioch where certain prophets and teachers were located. Barnabas, Simeon who was called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch were there with Paul. Up until this time, Paul had not operated in his calling. Until he met Jesus on the road to Damascus, he assumed his calling in life was to persecute Christians and be an expert in the Mosaic Law. At the time he did not realize that this was simply a period of training in preparation of his true calling- to be sent to the Gentiles and preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We understand that he was 62 years old when he died and that he had left on his first missionary trip when he was between 40 and 42 years of age. We would then conclude that he had his conversion around the age of 28. The point is that Our Heavenly Father does not get in a hurry to place us in our calling.

There is an old saying "some were sent, and some just went". So often we get ahead of our calling. We get wrapped up in the excitement of someone else’s calling and we want to be where the action is. This is actually a distraction to the fulfillment of our own calling. Further, by our participation in someone else’s calling and some apparent fruit being produced, we assume we have been enjoined into the other person’s calling. This is misdirection. At Antioch, the men ministered to the Lord (focused only on Holy and Spiritual matters) and fasted. By fasting, they took charge over their flesh. The fleshly man cannot hear the Spirit of GOD and must be put under subjection. By ministering and fasting, they prepared themselves to hear the Holy Ghost. This is a critical point. As you put your body under subjection, you will become more sensitive to hearing. Additionally, you must focus on Spiritual matters which in turn will draw your attention to what the Holy Ghost is saying. By doing this you will eliminate any distraction that would cause you to miss your day of activation. The goal is to be "sent by the Holy Ghost".

Acts 13:2 As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.

"Separate" means to appoint or set apart for some purpose. Paul was finally activated to his calling. He would spend the next 20-22 years ministering life to the Gentiles by preaching Jesus Christ and His resurrection. Miracles would follow him, confirming the Word. Barnabas whose name means "the son of rest" would accompany Paul on the missionary journey. As we enter into our calling, our soul is at rest and peace. When Paul was finally activated, his name was changed to reflect his new nature. The name Paul means "small or little". No longer did his character reflect an attitude of entitlement but now he considered himself a bondservant of Jesus Christ and was willing to serve all of mankind. He made himself of no reputation. When his calling was activated, something happened. Paul was now full of the Holy Ghost:

Acts 13:9 Then Saul, (who also [is called] Paul,) filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him,

This is the first record of his new name- Paul. Fourteen years after his conversion, Paul was now walking out his calling. Those fourteen years included a time of cleansing from the fleshly nature that had guided Paul’s life. His heart had to be circumcised of the fleshly man. Now that he was empowered with the fullness of the Holy Spirit, he was able to confront a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name [was] Barjesus. It is interesting to see the first record of an individual confrontation was with a man named "son of Jesus". Paul knew Jesus and His character so he discerned who this man really served.

A sorcerer is one who practices the use supernatural power over others through the assistance of spirits, i.e. witchcraft. So Paul is confronted with a counterfeit of his own calling. A false prophet is known to prophesy for money. He doesn’t necessarily prophesy falsely or he would not be taken seriously. A false prophet will attempt to control others with his ability to see into the future. He is one who, acting the part of a divinely inspired prophet, utters falsehoods under the name of divine prophecies. Jesus warns us of these false prophets and calls them ravening wolves who shall deceive many and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if [it were] possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

Immediately Paul’s calling is challenged. The deputy of the country, Sergius Paulus, a prudent man; who called for Barnabas and Saul, and desired to hear the word of God. Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood (resisted or opposed) Paul and Barnabas, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith. Paul was equipped to deal with Elymas for Paul was full of the Holy Ghost. He saw through Elymas and said:

“O full of all deceit and all fraud, you son of the devil, you enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease perverting the straight ways of the Lord? And now, indeed, the hand of the Lord is upon you, and you shall be blind, not seeing the sun for a time.”

Now that was bold! Paul established that Elymas was the son of the devil, not Jesus. Paul recognized the deceit, fraud, and perversion. It was time to remove this hindrance for the man was causing distraction and misdirection, a hindrance to the "straight ways of the Lord". Elymas was struck with blindness.

We must be vigilant in not being deceived by false prophets. Jesus Himself said that they can show great signs and wonders. We must be careful about viewing signs as an endorsement of a path or action to take. We must hear Our Heavenly Father for HE is the source of our calling. HE formed us in the womb for a specific and unique purpose. We must not be distracted or misdirected from our own calling. Identification of specific past distractions and misdirection is the first step to correcting your walk so that you can fulfill your calling.

Ready for a Stress Test?

November 16th, 2012

Our Heavenly Father places people and resources in place in anticipation of upcoming events.  Next month will mark my seventh year of focus on the revelation of Love, as mandated by My Heavenly Father in 1997.  As we respond to HIS Voice, HE puts us on a course that is integrated into HIS overall plan.  With very few exceptions, we are not given the full picture of what we will be specifically called to do in the future.  If we were, we would probably screw things up a bit.  HE sees no need to reduce the effectiveness of HIS plan with our resistance to adversity.  Our adversities are designed to strengthen us, hone our faith, express our Love, and implicitly trust Our Heavenly Father.  We are not prepared with all of this stress testing and these trials to simply pass the time.  There is a reason.

In the current system, there is also stress testing:

“The Federal Reserve is asking 30 big banks to make sure their capital can withstand a deep recession in which the unemployment rate rises to 12%.”  See: http://www.marketwatch.com/story/banks-told-by-fed-to-test-for-12-unemployment-2012-11-15?link=MW_latest_news

Consider the landscape where there is another 50% unemployed based on the currently massaged statistics.  That would approach the the 1930’s Depression era levels in real terms.  This is not intended put fear in your heart but to provide further understanding of the importance of preparing your heart as a mature overcomer.  Each of us should be personally growing in our walk with Our Heavenly Father.  Yes, there are outwardly things to do but more importantly we must prepare ourselves inwardly.  The inward aspects of our life will manifest outwardly, not the other way around.  Faith, Hope, and Love will all be required when times become dicey, but the greatest requirement of these is Love.  What is your level of preparedness?

Trust is…

The Pursuit of Life

November 15th, 2012

Jesus spoke:

John 10:10   The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have [it] more abundantly.

Sometimes we must return to the basics.  Since mankind is in such great pursuit of knowledge, understanding is often left by the wayside.  Understanding the mysteries of Our Heavenly Father will not be obtained through men’s books, logic, derivative patterns or formulas.  We must acknowledge that Our Heavenly Father is the source of all life and anything else simply directs us to death and destruction.  Yes, creation is a reflection of Our Heavenly Father but you cannot view a “speck” of creation and think that you can fully comprehend HIM.  It would be like the proverbial story of the blind men attempting to describe an elephant, each by his touch and from a different position around the elephant’s body.

The abundance of Life is not attained by studying and focusing on the scarcities in the earth, our society, or our life.  The true understanding of abundance is only found when pursuing the Life Giver.  Jesus said that HE is the Door (John 10:9) and that “life” is obtained through Him and His Words.  The prophets and the Law pointed us to Our Lord Jesus Christ.  Don’t get me wrong, the pursuit of knowledge can be a noble undertaking.  However, we should not set aside the most important aspect to life in order to increase our intellect.

Proverbs 16:16  How much better [is it] to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver!

Wisdom is not reserved for the intellectually brilliant.  Instead it is given to those who pursue the fullness of Our Heavenly Father.  The closer you are to the Source of wisdom, the more wisdom you will receive.  What is the best indicator of wisdom?  I would suggest you inspect your fruit:

James 3:17   But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, [and] easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

If our primary focus is not our mind, then what should we focus on?  Our heart!  Jesus said:

Matthew 5:8   Blessed [are] the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

We can become so busy focusing on the complexities that surround us, we forget the simplicity of the relationship Our Heavenly Father wants us to have with HIM.  Each of us must assess where we are at in our walk.  Those of us who have been on this path for decades can just as easily be deceived by our fleshly man who wants to pursue the creation and its derivative patterns and logic rather than the Creator.  Jesus DID NOT say “Blessed are the most intelligent” or “Blessed are the wealthiest” or …  Those who pursue a change in the heart, a cleansing of the heart, burning out the chaff in the heart, those with a circumcised heart of Love, will see Our Heavenly Father.

Why do you continue to clutter your mind with endless formulas in the hope that one of them will unlock the door to the Kingdom?  The door is right there in front of you.  Focusing on your heart and removing all the excess baggage will move you toward the Kingdom.  Hoping that some external event will solve your dilemma of being unable to access the Kingdom of Heaven will only prolong the quest.  Once again Jesus spoke:

Mark 10:13 Then they brought little children to Him, that He might touch them; but the disciples rebuked those who brought them.

:14 But when Jesus saw it, He was greatly displeased and said to them, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God.

:15 Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.”

:16 And He took them up in His arms, laid His hands on them, and blessed them.

Jesus was emphatic about this highlighted text above.  Think about it!  He dispels any view that focuses on knowledge or skill being required to enter through the Door.  Our pursuit of Life will only end well if we pursue the Life Giver.  His Divine Intent is focused around Love.  If you pursue life in any other way, you will truly be disappointed and unfulfilled.

Gold continues to be reaffirmed

November 14th, 2012

Under the current economic system, gold and silver are true money, both have no liabilities attached to them.  All other forms of money (fiat currency) have some form of liability attached to them and thus their value is not fixed.  The framers of the US Constitution established the dollar and was further defined in 1792 but that has long since been abandoned without much fanfare.

U.S. Treasury Delays 2012 GAAP-Based Financial Statements Until Mid-January” is a troubling press release.  How in the world could a government agency with plenty of computing power fail to do its job?  If the numbers were positive, I am sure there would have been no delay.  This could only mean that they are bad and there needs to be some additional “massaging” until they can be interpreted to be acceptable.  Recent snafus in the jobs numbers reporting can only be interpreted as a further decline in US economic activity.  Ben Bernanke reaffirms the Fed’s purchasing of Government debt with money created out of thin air.

How long will the market accept these actions?  Only Our Heavenly Father knows.  The longer these suspect actions are taken, “the worse the problem”.  The fiscal cliff will not be resolved but a huge Band-Aid will be placed over the problem and we will be assured that all is well and on the way to recovery.  In the meantime, look for entitlement reform to take place.  This means that all those who receive payments from Uncle Sam will come under the magnifying glass.  They will attempt to renege on the commitments that we have spent a lifetime paying for.  Isn’t that lawlessness?

How can I keep the value of my life savings intact?  I don’t give investment advice but as for my family, we believe investing in hard assets has the greatest chance of retaining value.  Investing in my business is another avenue.  I am staying away from bonds since I believe that they are in a bubble and will burst soon, causing major destruction to retirement accounts.

My best investment is to continue maturing in my relationship with Our Heavenly Father.  Answers to all of our problems are to be found in the Heavenlies.  How do we tap into those solutions?  By lawfully accessing them.  Our fleshly nature will not have access since its motivation is lawlessness.  Our new man will be given access since it operates by Love and will only use the solutions to bring forth life and help mankind.

By the way, China also reaffirms gold:

Love is

November 13th, 2012

Romans 13:10  Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love [is] the fulfilling of the law.

The fullness of Love is indefinable in human terms because we cannot fully grasp the completeness of Our Heavenly Father.  Our Heavenly Father has infinite ways to frame the universe and all of its parts thus we must attempt to view Love in the same manner- infinite.  This is why it is necessary to describe what Love is not.  “Love worketh no ill to his neighbour” encompasses the essence of the Law.  Love promotes life, not death.  As you promote your neighbor’s life and well-being, you are promoting Love.  All of creation is geared towards life.  Seedtime and harvest is all about perpetuating life.

Do you want to be one of the “elect”?  If so, you must decide what you are committed to in terms of personal development.  Many Christians quit developing at a personal level and become satisfied in their current state.  They become satisfied in reading of others’ revelation and consider that to be sufficient to qualify them as one of the elect.  If that were the case, we would only have to read the books written by others to achieve this goal.

The two books I wrote were not intended to be complete works on understanding what Love is.  They are intended to direct you toward the revelation of Love.  They were intended to stimulate your hunger for the revelation that has been a mystery in times past.  For the Kingdom to come, we should expect mysteries to be revealed to those who are called as the elect.  Who will Our Heavenly Father entrust with those revelations?  I am convinced HE will assess each of us based on our commitment to becoming like our elder brother Jesus.  After all, you become like the company you keep.

I continue to be emphatic that Love is the key to the next major move by Our Heavenly Father.  I have heard nothing nor read anything that would change this position.  Once you see this, then the Scripture comes alive with a new facet of understanding.  Many unanswered questions of the past get resolved.  A greater understanding of Our Heavenly Father’s intent comes to light.  Many say they believe “GOD is Love” but don’t really act like it.  They would prefer to see death and destruction than to see life and reconciliation.  If Mystery Babylon is centered around the economic system, and the economic system is centered around the love of money or greed, what better way to overcome the current system than by spreading the Love of Our Heavenly Father to all mankind?  My calling is that of a Treasurer for the Kingdom.  I no longer need prophets to come and reaffirm the calling.  In my younger years, Our Heavenly Father would send countless reassurances to me.  But now one would ask if I am called to be a Treasurer, why I am so focused on Love?  Because that is the most critical requirement of any calling in establishing the Kingdom on earth.

I will hop off my soapbox for today… maybe.

Initial Inspection of Fruit

November 12th, 2012

We have now concluded five weeks of our live streaming Bible study on Love.  Based on the statistics kept at ustream.tv we have about 100 viewers per week join us for this study.  Most watch the Bible study recording.  We thank all of you for joining us in this pursuit of a deeper revelation of Love.  No longer does distance separate us from coming together.  We have comments from Canada, Minnesota, Florida, and Brazil.

We see positive changes among the members who attend here locally.  Our anticipation and expectation is growing as we are being stimulated by the WORD of Our Heavenly Father.  The washing of the WORD does that.  Our Temples are being prepared for the next major Spiritual move on the earth.  Many are called but few are chosen.  One would ask “Who are the chosen ones?”  I would submit that it is those who have prepared themselves for their calling even in the midst of trials and testing.  It will be those whom THE FATHER is well pleased.  Yes, we must be well-rounded in all aspects of our walk but without the revelation of HIS Love I believe we would fall short of the essence of being MY BELOVED SON.

Hbr 10:23  Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful;

Hbr 10:24  and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds,

Hbr 10:25 not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near. NASB

I trust we are helping to stimulate your Love and good deeds!

Bible Study on Love

November 10th, 2012

Tomorrow at 3 PM CST we will have our next Bible Study live on the Internet.  Servias Ministries offers this to allow our brothers and sisters around the world to pursue the most important characteristic of Our Heavenly Father with us.  HIS Love is the primary motivation in which all of creation is framed.  All aspects of understanding the depth of Scripture require us to view revelation from a standpoint of Love.  Without this critical viewpoint, man will manipulate Scripture to fit his own agenda, often centered around money and power.

Love has no opposite.  This week we will explore this reality that goes against the logic we have been taught.  The logic of the mind would have you believe that “hate” is the opposite of Love… not true.  Our fleshly man wants to control us by having us believe Love is a passive, powerless attribute of the weak.  Not so.  It is the most powerful aspect of the universe.  Let us together pursue this greater understanding.

Economic Pain may be deferred

November 7th, 2012

In a recent blog, I suggested that there would be a time difference of economic pain depending on which candidate won.  It would now appear that we have been given a reprieve an immediate currency event.  This delay will serve the Body of Christ to continue its preparation of bringing forth the Kingdom.  Ben Bernanke will not be fired but will continue his quantitative easing path.  Of course I believe Our Heavenly Father is in ultimate control and Obama has been ordained to continue for the next four years.

The fiscal cliff is ahead but I know of no country that wants to see an immediate US crisis.  China is not quite ready to take on the central role but they will continue to move away from reliance on the US Dollar.  Their leaders openly acknowledge that the US is sending them a depreciating asset in the US Dollar.  Right now, there is nothing they can do but to accept this reality.  Long term, they will remove the influence of the Dollar on their economy.

The aspiring overcomers should use this delay to further prepare themselves for a simplified, unencumbered lifestyle.  Remove the clutter from your life as well as your home.  Retire your debt, you will sleep better.  Debt always takes the focus away from other more important matters.  Join us for our weekly Bible study as we focus on the Love of Our Heavenly Father.  You can catch up be watching the recorded sessions.
