The Snare

July 7th, 2017

By THE SPIRIT it is written in Luke chapter 21:

34 “But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly.
35 For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth.
36 Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy[fn] to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.”
37 And in the daytime He was teaching in the temple, but at night He went out and stayed on the mountain called Olivet.
38 Then early in the morning all the people came to Him in the temple to hear Him.

Jesus provided us with His daily schedule of ministry in this passage:  teach in the daytime, seek FATHER’S Voice and instruction while separated on the mountain during the night.  The Mount of Olives is where Ezekiel saw the Glory of THE LORD would remain until Jesus ascended from it at the end of His ministry.  As Jesus remained in the midst of the Glory with FATHER, He received valuable and timely instruction to minister to those with ears to hear and eyes to see.  This location was recorded in Ezekiel chapter 11:

 23 And the glory of the LORD went up from the midst of the city and stood on the mountain, which is on the east side of the city.

Each of us needs to be refreshed as we minister life to those around us.  We must be on guard when the day signaling the end of the age has arrived.  We must protect our faculties which includes first and foremost the sensitivity of hearing FATHER’S Voice.  Drunkenness dulls that ability.  We are also warned about squandering resources during this time leading up to that fateful day.  Let us be good stewards on behalf of the Kingdom.

The snare is meant to minimize or remove our effective of ministry to others.  No matter what state we are in, let us sacrifice ourselves for the benefit of others.  This is what Love does.  Jesus was beaten and in no condition to even carry His cross but that did not stop Him from completing the ministry He was sent to accomplish.  May our resolve lead and guide us in the same manner.  No snare can stop perfect Love from achieving its purpose.

The Fast of Love

July 6th, 2017

By THE SPIRIT it is written in Isaiah chapter 58:

6 “Is this not the fast that I have chosen:
To loose the bonds of wickedness,
To undo the heavy burdens,
To let the oppressed go free,
And that you break every yoke?
Is it not to share your bread with the hungry,
And that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out;
When you see the naked, that you cover him,
And not hide yourself from your own flesh?
Then your light shall break forth like the morning,
Your healing shall spring forth speedily,
And your righteousness shall go before you;
The glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard.”

FATHER provides us an abbreviated list of acts of Love in the above passage.  We are to minister to those in need.  As we do, we open ourselves up to verse 8 where the result of our action is rewarded: light, healing, righteousness, and Glory all become accessible to us.  What a blessed promise given to those who establish a proper fast where the focus is a more intimate relationship with FATHER.

Love will break every yoke and the oppressed can no longer be held in bondage.  The bonds of wickedness cannot withstand the power of Love and all those heavy burdens are easily remove by the acts of Love.  People often look at fasting in a negative sense because they are required to give up something that “self” wants.  Let us look at fasting in a positive light where it releases a greater manifestation of Love in a person’s life.  When one fasts with the proper attitude then appropriate results are manifested.  FATHER’S Glory encompasses those who walk in Love and allow their light to shine forth in a darkened world.

Uncompromising Life

July 5th, 2017

By THE SPIRIT it is written in Psalm 119:

How blessed are those whose way is blameless,
Who walk in the law of the LORD.
How blessed are those who observe His testimonies,
Who seek Him with all their heart.
They also do no unrighteousness;
They walk in His ways.
You have ordained Your precepts,
[fn]That we should keep them diligently.
Oh that my ways may be established
To keep Your statutes!
Then I shall not be ashamed
When I look upon all Your commandments.
I shall give thanks to You with uprightness of heart,
When I learn Your righteous judgments.
I shall keep Your statutes;
Do not forsake me utterly!

Truth cannot be compromised and remain the Truth.  Any deviation of the Truth brings forth unrighteousness and division.  This is why we need to know the Truth and It will set us free from the bondage of sin.  Wrapped in Truth is motivation of the particular Truth we convey to others.  This protects us from the “legalistic” use of Truth as we are meant to understand the fullness of Truth.

Jesus spoke Truth motivated by Love.  Knowing this we can correctly discern whether someone is fully disclosing the Truth from FATHER or withholding a portion to support their own agenda.  If a Word is given to us, we will have the peace to receive and embrace it or keep it at arm’s length until FATHER confirms it through another source.

We are warned against compromising the Truth we have been given.  As we keep the Truth in our hearts our ways become established because we are keeping HIS Law of Love where the source of Truth is found.

Do you support Truth or allow compromise to come forth in your midst?  There are times when we must clarify our stand so that the standard of Truth prevails in our circle of influence.  When we declare HIS Works in our life, let those declarations be accurate and uncompromising so they will be a true blessing to all.  Let no compromise be found among us.

Full Subjection

July 4th, 2017

Paul wrote by THE SPIRIT in 1 Corinthians chapter 15:

20 But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.

21 For since by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection of the dead.

22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive.

23 But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ’s at His coming.

24 Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power.

25 For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet.

26 The last enemy that will be destroyed is death.

27 For “He has put all things under His feet.”[fn] But when He says “all things are put under Him,” it is evident that He who put all things under Him is excepted.

28 Now when all things are made subject to Him, then the Son Himself will also be subject to Him who put all things under Him, that God may be all in all.

Jesus will bring all of creation into full subjection to FATHER’S Plan, Will, and purpose because Love motivates Him to do so.  Love intends to bring forth unity in all of creation and there are no exceptions, no matter how great or small.  Whether it be a wave form inside our cells or a nation, unity will come forth in its fullness.

The Old testament spends much time in dealing with nations’ blessings and cursings whereas the New Testament has much focus placed on the individual level of accepting or rejecting HIS Word.  Jesus established that the individual is as important as entire nations for He always had enough time to minster life and healing to those individuals who sought Him out for the answer to their sickness.

 Jesus healed the core issue within people rather than just deal with the symptom.  Think about it, He was as interested in removing a virus from an individual as He was ministering a particular parable to the masses.  We must not think our individual problems are too small for the Son to deal with and resolve.  Jesus understands eternity so He is not limited by time or any other resource.

Each of us has trillions of cells in our body that can “go rogue” in us and cause sickness.  That sickness is inconsistent with our design by FATHER.  We must stand on The Word and demand our bodies to line up with FATHER’S perfect design for by the stripes of Jesus we were healed.  Let us be in agreement that Jesus will bring all into full subjection, no exceptions.

Discerning Truth

July 3rd, 2017

The Beloved Disciple wrote by THE SPIRIT in 1 John chapter 2:

26 These things I have written to you concerning those who try to deceive you.

27 But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him.

28 And now, little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming.

29 If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him.

We have been given the power and ability from the Holy Spirit to discern Truth from a lie.  That anointing is resident in us whether we access it or not and it is meant to be used on a daily basis.  There are hindrances to us discerning Truth and we must remove them in order to hear more clearly.  Noise generated by the world makes it difficult to spiritually hear.  Paul gives us an example in 1 Corinthians chapter 13:

1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.

Whoever speaks without Love being the motivating factor becomes as noise thus the world is full of noise.  In Luke 22 Jesus separated Himself as was His custom:

39 Coming out, He went to the Mount of Olives, as He was accustomed, and His disciples also followed Him.

40 When He came to the place, He said to them, “Pray that you may not enter into temptation.”

41 And He was withdrawn from them about a stone’s throw, and He knelt down and prayed

If Jesus found it necessary to withdraw to a quiet place, we should consider doing the same.  We too will become sensitive to discerning the Truth from a lie.  When we don’t discern the Truth, our resources tend to be wasted, especially time.  I can attest to that reality in my own walk.  Men deceived me and I expended resources based on their multitude of lies only to find out later what the Truth of the matter was.  FATHER in HIS great grace and mercy restored resources I lost and instructed me accordingly.

The Truth will often free up time and money for productive use.  People who lie to us have resorted to lying because they have found that their agenda cannot be achieved by any other means.  If they walked in unconditional Love, FATHER would bless them in a productive manner and there would no reason to lie in the first place.  Once again, Love is the key to protecting ourselves from the lies coming forth out of the world.  Let us not grieve the Holy Spirit by lying ourselves as Paul warned us in Ephesians chapter 4:

25 Therefore, putting away lying, Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor,” for we are members of one another.

26 “Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath,

27 nor give place to the devil.

28 Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need.

29 Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.

30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

As we are fully able to discern Truth, we will put a stop to the cycle of lies prevailing in the world today.  As a result we will promote Love and righteousness to a world in desperate need.

Motivation Of Teaching

July 2nd, 2017

Paul wrote by THE SPIRIT in Philippians chapter 1:

12 But I want you to know, brethren, that the things which happened to me have actually turned out for the furtherance of the gospel, 13 so that it has become evident to the whole palace guard, and to all the rest, that my chains are in Christ; 14 and most of the brethren in the Lord, having become confident by my chains, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.
15 Some indeed preach Christ even from envy and strife, and some also from goodwill: 16 The former[fn] preach Christ from selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my chains; 17 but the latter out of love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the gospel. 18 What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is preached; and in this I rejoice, yes, and will rejoice.

Paul explains that the Gospel is still effective no matter what the motivation of the teacher may be.  Even his own challenges while in chains turned out to be positive to the furtherance of The Gospel.  Some teach with a motivation of envy and strife but that does not negate the power of the Gospel toward the hearer.  Good seed can be planted by anyone as long as the seed itself is pure.  The challenge we each must deal with is to confirm the purity of The Word by those who teach with this motivation.  In essence you can teach or share The appropriate Word for the wrong reasons.

In the “faith” movement there was much teaching with a selfish ambition as the motivation.  We were taught to “give until it felt good” and many of us did just that.  Little did the evangelist realize that we would receive our reward for giving out of a pure heart.  They subjected themselves to judgment while we were subjected to blessing.  Thankfully, FATHER had it all under control lest his children give themselves into bankruptcy.

As long as Christ is preached I will rejoice exclaims Paul.  I join him as well in the way FATHER has orchestrated The Word going forth no matter what the intent of the teacher.  Remember, the power is in the seed not the one who delivers it.

Fruitful Growth In Faith

July 1st, 2017

In 2 Peter chapter 1, Peter wrote by THE SPIRIT:

5 But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge,

6 to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness,

7 to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love.

8 For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

9 For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.

10 Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble;

11 for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

THE SPIRIT makes a very clear statement about our fruitfulness, “For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ”.  As we pursue these fruit we can be assured of an increase in the knowledge of Our Lord Jesus Christ.  As we pursue a walk in these fruit we can expect our eyes to be opened to a greater degree which will allow us to see Truth and reality in the same manner as Jesus.  On the flip side, if we don’t pursue these fruit then we become subject to blindness.  Therefore “be diligent” we are told!

When we let our guard down and become slack in studying and recalling these fundamental promises, we expose ourselves to becoming lukewarm and are subject to stumbling.  Then we wake up one morning and ask ourselves how this happened.  We have let the cares of the world come in and attack the Word in us without hardly realizing what happened.  We become accustomed to coasting through life when instead we ought to be diligent concerning protecting the Word in us.  It us up to each of us to keep ourselves fit in the Word, exercising the Word in our lives on a daily basis.

Brotherly kindness requires action toward others.  One way you can keep fruitful in this area is to purpose to do something everyday for someone else beyond your family.  We are to add virtue or “moral excellence” to our faith.  When we do we have a purity of faith which is above reproach.  This serves two purposes- one is to expose our purity; the other is to expose impurities of those witness our virtue.

Knowledge is obtained by the written Word, The Holy Spirit, Jesus, and FATHER’S Voice.  Once we receive knowledge we must be cautious about how we apply it to ourselves and others.  This is why we must seek wisdom and understanding as well.  These attributes promote self-control so that we are not offensive toward our brothers and sisters when we share newly acquired knowledge.  Perseverance is steadfastness in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success.  This fruit goes hand in hand with faith and patience.  As we take on these fruits our faith increases and we will not stumble as we enter into the everlasting Kingdom.

No Longer Slaves to Sin and Death

June 30th, 2017

By THE SPIRIT Paul wrote in Romans chapter 6:

5 For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection,

6 knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin.

7 For he who has died has been freed from sin.

8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him,

9 knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him.

10 For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God.

11 Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts.

Once and for all Jesus freed us from sin and death but in order to walk in this freedom, we must not only be aware of the Truth but embrace it as well.  We are no longer slaves to sin and thus we are not subject to the wicked one and his devices.  Our subjection is only by our agreement to stay within his grasp.  It is critical for us to see that we must renew our minds to this Truth so that we not allow sin to reign in our mortal bodies.

Each day we must renew our minds even though we may not perceive progress in this area.  I know personally there are days when my mind and my body attempt to be pulled away from the reality of His resurrection and revert back to the world’s mantra of “seeing it to believe it” mentality.  Those are the days where I know HIS Grace is sufficient for me no matter what the circumstances.  This is where our faith gets tested which causes us to grow stronger IN HIM.

Some days it is important to simply declare FATHER’S past works in our lives.  He has delivered us and performed miracles on our behalf and we must not forget them when we are being tried and tested with new challenges.  Let us never forget Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever, or Malachi 3:6 “For I am the LORD, I do not change”

Our circumstances might change but Jesus doesn’t.  Our problems are temporary but our solution is eternal.  Paul wrote by THE SPIRIT in 1 Corinthians chapter 15:

56 The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law.

57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

We are urged to be steadfast and immovable in the work of THE LORD.  There will be days when you may feel like you can’t be immovable because of recurring challenges but I encourage you to stop, get quiet before FATHER and let HIM minister to you that which you need for the day.  The temporary will pass for we are no longer slaves to the old man.  FATHER is well aware of our humanity and need for encouragement.

Testifying of The Truth

June 29th, 2017

The Jesus spoke in John chapter 3:

11 Most assuredly, I say to you, We speak what We know and testify what We have seen, and you do not receive Our witness.

12 If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things?

13 No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven.

Jesus was sharing the new birth with Nicodemus when He spoke these words.  The Bible is full of testimonies of what men have seen FATHER do on their behalf yet men continue to all allow satan to come and steal the Word away.  We must decide whose testimony we’re are going to believe today- Jesus or the devil.  Jesus was the best witness of Heaven coming to earth and ministering life and health to those who were willing to receive it.  Jesus healed countless men and women, raised up the dead, and ministered Love to all who would receive it yet after 2,000 years new philosophies still tickle the ears of mankind.

In John chapter 5 Jesus spoke:

32 There is another who bears witness of Me, and I know that the witness which He witnesses of Me is true.

33 You have sent to John, and he has borne witness to the truth.

34 Yet I do not receive testimony from man, but I say these things that you may be saved.

35 He was the burning and shining lamp, and you were willing for a time to rejoice in his light.

36 But I have a greater witness than John’s; for the works which the Father has given Me to finish—the very works that I do—bear witness of Me, that the Father has sent Me.

37 And the Father Himself, who sent Me, has testified of Me. You have neither heard His voice at any time, nor seen His form.

38 But you do not have His word abiding in you, because whom He sent, Him you do not believe.

39 You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me.

40 But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life.

Jesus speaks of the four witnesses of Who He is yet men still have a problem with unbelief.  We must determine within ourselves to believe the Words and Works of Jesus in order for our faith to grow in an unhindered manner.  He gives us promises, commands, and instructions on how to walk according to His pattern.  Let us no longer believe the lies of the devil and embrace the testimony of Jesus Christ for us on a personal basis.  The Truth sets us free so let us embrace it and walk according to the precious promises given to us in HIS Word.

Prayer Works!

June 28th, 2017

James wrote by THE SPIRIT in chapter 5:

16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

We are told to pray for one another as well as ourselves.  Prayer is communion with FATHER just like we would have with an earthly parent except Our Heavenly Father is more patient, compassionate, and full of Love than any earthly parent.  The one qualifier in the above verse is that we be righteous.  A righteous man keeps the Divine Commandments and none are more important than the Commandment of Love.

FATHER is not reluctant to answer our prayers but will only answer them according to righteousness.  We should be okay with that since our goal is to be righteous and walk accordingly.  Wisdom writes in Proverbs chapter 2:

6 For the LORD gives wisdom;

From His mouth come knowledge and understanding;

7 He stores up sound wisdom for the upright;

He is a shield to those who walk uprightly;

8 He guards the paths of justice,

And preserves the way of His saints.

9 Then you will understand righteousness and justice,

Equity and every good path.

As we pursue wisdom and righteousness then we begin to pray in like manner.  No longer are we disappointed in the way our prayers are answered because we realize that FATHER knows best and will answer us according to our best interest.  This provides us with understanding when James wrote in chapter 4:3  “You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.”

FATHER answered all of Jesus’ prayers and thus HIS Will was done through Jesus on earth.  With Jesus being our example, shouldn’t we pursue the same path of righteousness and in the same manner as Jesus?  Every one of our steps should be motivated by Agape Love.  Every word we speak should promote life, health, and healing.

FATHER has all the solutions to mankind’s problems and HE is fully accessible to answer our prayers.  It is our responsibility to ask with the right heart and mind.  As we do, we should exercise our faith and expect our prayers to be answered.  Let us be fully led by THE SPIRIT and minister life in both prayer and deed.  As we spend quality time with HIM each day we will know how we ought to pray on behalf of others as well as ourselves.
