His Power And Authority

Sunday, February 9th, 2025

Our assignment is to usher in The Kingdom of God on earth!

Believers who don’t take this assignment seriously often defer to the Sovereignty of GOD as being the requirement to usher in HIS Kingdom.  In essence, they take no responsibility to obey the commands of Jesus.

Jesus spoke in Matthew chapter 12:

28 But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, surely the Kingdom of God has come upon you.

29 Or how can one enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man? And then he will plunder his house.

30 He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters abroad.

In other Words, “So join with Me, for if you’re not on My side you are against Me. And if you refuse to help Me gather the spoils, you are making things worse.”  This is a war with no neutrality!  You cannot sit on the sideline as an observer.

Matthew recorded by The Holy Spirit in Matthew chapter 10:

1 Jesus gathered His twelve disciples and imparted to them authority to cast out demons and to heal every sickness and every disease.

Both His power and authority were given for us to walk in as well, as Jesus stated in Mark chapter 16:

15 And Jesus said to them, “As you go into all the world, preach openly the wonderful news of the Gospel to the entire human race!

16 Whoever believes the Good News and is baptized will be saved, and whoever does not believe the Good News will be condemned.

17 And these miracle signs will accompany those who believe: They will drive out demons in the power of My Name. They will speak in tongues.

18 They will be supernaturally protected from snakes and from drinking anything poisonous. And they will lay hands on the sick and heal them.”

We don’t need to pray to FATHER for HIM to heal the person before us.  Jesus gave us the power and authority to use Hin Name in healing and driving out demons.

Peter and John understood this as Peter healed the lame man.

Luke recorded by The Holy Spirit in Acts chapter 3:

1 Now Peter and John went up together to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour.

2 And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms from those who entered the temple;

3 who, seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked for alms.

4 And fixing his eyes on him, with John, Peter said, “Look at us.”

5 So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them.

6 Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: By the power and authority of the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.”

7 And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.

8 So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them-walking, leaping, and praising God.

9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God.

10 Then they knew that it was he who sat begging alms at the Beautiful Gate of the temple; and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.

Peter had no power and authority himself; he could not heal the man separate from the power and authority of the Name of Jesus Christ.  Peter did not quote some lengthy prayer begging for GOD to heal the man.  Peter had the faith of GOD in his spirit now and now had no unbelief as he did during the earthly ministry of Jesus.

What happened as a result of the lame man’s healing?

11 Dumbfounded over what they were witnessing, the crowd ran over to Peter and John, who were standing under the covered walkway called Solomon’s Porch. Standing there also was the healed beggar, clinging to Peter and John.

12 With the crowd surrounding him, Peter said to them all, “People of Israel, listen to me! Why are you so amazed by this healing? Why do you stare at us? We didn’t make this crippled man walk by our own power or authority.

This healing drew a crowd, and Peter preached the message of Jesus Christ to them.  What was the result?

Acts chapter 4:4 Yet there were many in the crowd who believed the message, bringing the total number of men who believed to nearly five thousand!

This one healing resulted in nearly 5,000 men plus women and children coming to Christ.  This is bringing the Kingdom of GOD to the earth!

Ushering In The Kingdom

Saturday, February 8th, 2025

Jesus gave us the example of a lifestyle of prayer we are to follow for the purpose of ushering in The Kingdom of God on earth!

Jesus spoke in Matthew chapter 12:

22 Then one was brought to Him who was demon-possessed, blind and mute; and He healed him, so that the blind and mute man both spoke and saw.

23 And all the multitudes were amazed and said, “Could this be the Son of David?” 24 Now when the Pharisees heard it they said, “This fellow does not cast out demons except by Beelzebub, the ruler of the demons.”

25 But Jesus knew their thoughts, and said to them: “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand.

26 If Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand?

27 And if I cast out demons by Beelzebub, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they shall be your judges.

Jesus illustrated one aspect of The Kingdom of GOD coming to the earth when He cast the demon out of the blind mute.  Jesus discerned by The Holy Spirit that the source of the man’s problem was a demon.  We are meant to operate in the same manner as Jesus when confronted by a demon-possessed person.  The reason the demon left was because the Kingdom of GOD came upon the man. Light wins over darkness… always!  The former ruler over the man departed when confronted by The Kingdom of GOD.

If we don’t understand what GOD’S answers look like, then we can’t receive the encouragement from answers to prayer that we were designed to receive.

Jesus spoke in John chapter 16:

23 For here is Eternal Truth: When that time comes you won’t need to ask Me for anything, but instead you will go directly to the Father and ask Him for anything you desire and HE will give it to you, because of your relationship with Me.

24 Until now you’ve not been bold enough to ask the Father for a single thing in My Name, but now you can ask, and keep on asking Jim! And you can be sure that you’ll receive what you ask for, and your joy will have no limits!

Our overflowing joy has everything to do with recognizing the answers when they come.  We were designed to experience this gratification, the overflowing fullness of joy, when our answers to prayer are manifested.  We were designed to obtain fruit from prayer that glorifies GOD.

FATHER already has answers to prayer awaiting our prayers of bringing forth The Kingdom of GOD.  HE is obligated to fulfill HIS promises to us.  However, HE is not obligated to fulfill our potential.  If something doesn’t happen, people often say that it must not be GOD’S Will for it to happen.  Wrong!

Peter wrote by The Holy Spirit in 2nd  Peter chapter 3:

9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

Are people perishing every day?  Yes, but it is not FATHER’S Will for any to perish but to come to repentance.  Don’t blame their perishing on the sovereignty of GOD.

You and I have a responsibility to participate in some manner to move people to repentance.  The Holy Spirit will direct each of us to do our part if we submit to Him.  We are to take seriously the assignment we have been given to live on planet Earth and to usher in the Kingdom of God in so many different ways, being led by The Holy Spirit.

HIS Will Be Done!

Friday, February 7th, 2025

Jesus gave the disciples AND us, the expectation of THE FATHER for our individual lives!

One of His disciples asked Jesus how to pray:

Luke 11:1  Now it came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, that one of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.”

Jesus spoke in Matthew chapter 6:

9 In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in Heaven, Hallowed be Your Name. 10 Your Kingdom come. Your Will be done On earth as it is in Heaven.

11 Give us this day our daily bread.

12 And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors.

13 And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

Jesus didn’t give us that prayer assignment simply to keep us busy.  Busyness is artificial significance.  Jesus emphasized this when He spoke in verse 7:

“When you pray, there is no need to repeat empty phrases, praying like the Gentiles do, for they expect God to hear them because of their many words.”

FATHER’S Intent is for HIS Kingdom to come to earth through us.  We are not to be spectators but instead we are to be participants.  Jesus gave us an assignment to pray, with a specific prayer, and an expected outcome: to bring forth His Kingdom.  He intends to fully answer that prayer.

If we don’t understand what the answer looks like, we won’t be encouraged as we see progress throughout our life.  Whatever happens in Heaven should be happening here on earth.  If it is not happening in Heaven, it shouldn’t be happening here.  That is His expectation!  You are to bind here what is already bound in Heaven and you are to loose here what is already loosed in Heaven.

My job is not to go to Heaven but to bring Heaven to earth.  His job is to get me to Heaven after I have completed my assignment here on earth.

The following verse summarizes how Jesus impacted the world.

Mark recorded by The Holy Spirit in Mark chapter 11:

20 Now in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.

21 And Peter, remembering, said to Him, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree which You cursed has withered away.”

22 So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God.

23 For assuredly, I say to you (listen to the Truth I speak to you), whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.

24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

Jesus did not exaggerate as He revealed the Truth of walking in faith in GOD.  What would happen if a mountain was cast into the sea?  It would be known throughout the earth and people would be strongly affected by such a major event.

When we say whatever THE FATHER is saying, the reality of The Kingdom becomes present.  If GOD inhabits my praise, who inhabits my complaints?  Words empower worlds as shown in the Book of Genesis.

Wisdom spoke in Proverbs chapter 18:

20 A man’s stomach shall be satisfied from the fruit of his mouth; From the produce of his lips he shall be filled.

21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.

When we pray our assignment, FATHER is ready to answer the specifics of our prayer: Your Kingdom, Your Dominion come, Your Will be done on earth as it is in Heaven!

Entirely GOD Became Entirely Man

Thursday, February 6th, 2025

Jesus walked in the power of The Holy Spirit as a man so that He could be our example!

The following verse summarizes how Jesus impacted the world.

Luke recorded by The Holy Spirit in Acts chapter 10:

38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, Who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

In this verse, Jesus’ humanity is emphasized with the description: Jesus of Nazareth, a man, not the Son of GOD, although He was the Lamb of GOD.  This allows Him to be our perfect Example, confirming that we have the same opportunity to walk and be led by The Holy Spirit and anointed with power.  Jesus’ humanity is what needed to be anointed.  As God, Jesus needed no anointing.

Power is not an addition to The Holy Spirit; it is an emphasis of The Holy Spirit.

Jesus spoke in Matthew chapter 6:

33 But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

His righteousness is not separate from the Kingdom of God but is an emphasis of the Kingdom.

Paul provided us with additional clarification as he wrote by The Holy Spirit in Romans chapter 14:

17 for the Kingdom of God is not eating and drinking (the natural realm), but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

18 For he who serves Christ in these things is acceptable to God and approved by men.

Jesus never stopped being the Son of GOD but took on humanity to show us that we too could bring forth the Kingdom of GOD on earthEntirely GOD became entirely man.  Jesus fully accepted His humanity because His Love for us required a perfect Blood sacrifice.

This is a key point that we must embrace in order to move on to full maturity.  At what level of maturity are you satisfied with?

Jesus established His expectation of those who are willing to fully submit to The Holy Spirit in their daily walk.

Jesus spoke in John chapter 14:

12 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.

If Jesus did His miracles as God, we are all impressed but then we are just spectators.  When we realize that He did His miracles as a man yielded to GOD, then we should no longer be satisfied to stay where we are at.  With this revelation, we are meant to pursue walking in the Example given to us as we pursue the path toward maturity in Christ.  If it were not possible, then Jesus would not expect us to do greater works than Him.

His example summons me, it provokes me to move toward walking in greater works.  This is not the time to move toward passivity.

While riding in the car recently, my wife had an open vision.  She saw an open door in the sky and in the opening was a deeper blue than the physical sky around the door.  Open Heaven is upon us.

The Power Of The Holy Spirit

Wednesday, February 5th, 2025

Jesus walked in the power of The Holy Spirit and so should we!

Luke recorded by The Holy Spirit in Luke chapter 4:

1 From the moment of His baptism, Jesus overflowed with the Holy Spirit. He was taken by the Spirit from the Jordan into the wilderness of Judea to experience for forty days the ordeal of testing by the accuser. He ate no food during this time and ended His forty-day fast very hungry.

Afterward, Jesus was tempted by the devil and overcame all the temptations with the Word of GOD.  He did not allow His flesh or His soul to take control, He was fully led by The Holy Spirit.

14 Then Jesus, armed with the Holy Spirit’s power, returned to Galilee, and His fame spread throughout the region.

15 He taught in the synagogues and they glorified Him.

Notice that it was only after He was tested that He walked in the power of The Holy Spirit.  This detail has not been emphasized in the past when ministries have taught on receiving the baptism of The Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in Tongues.  They left the testing aspect out.

It is one thing to have the right to walk in power, but it is another to manifest the power of The Holy Spirit.  FATHER requires us to walk in and be tested in righteousness before we will walk in the power of The Holy Spirit.  We must fully surrender ourselves to The Holy Spirit.

The Beloved disciple wrote by The Holy Spirit in John chapter 1:

12 But as many as received Him, to them gave He power (right, authority) to become the Sons of God, even to them that believe on His Name:

FATHER is committed to fulfilling HIS promises, but HE is not committed to fulfilling your potential!

Jesus spoke in Luke chapter 4:

18 “The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the Gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed;

19 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD.”

20 And He closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on Him.

21 And He began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.

The promise found in Isaiah chapter 61 was fulfilled and became a reality before their eyes and ears.

Luke recorded by The Holy Spirit in Acts chapter 10:

38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, Who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

This verse is a summary, or review, of the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.  This verse summarizes how Jesus impacted the world.

Jesus walked the earth as a man, and it required that He be anointed by FATHER.  Before He came to the earth, He needed no anointing or power from Heaven.  As a man, He was subject to everything that we are subject to, without exception.

As a man, Jesus needed the baptism of The Holy Spirit to bring forth Heaven to earth.  In addition to simply receiving The Holy Spirit, He needed the power of The Holy Spirit just like we do.  He provided a perfect template for us to follow in order to bring forth Heaven to earth.

If I want to walk in the power of The Holy Spirit, I must successfully walk in righteousness and Holiness.  You can be assured that you will be tested by the adversary.

Jesus spoke in John chapter 14:

12 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.

13 And whatever you ask in My Name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

14 If you ask anything in My Name, I will do it.

In order to do greater works, we must at a minimum do the same works.  This requires us to walk in the power of The Holy Spirit.  We must take the necessary steps to walk in such power to bring forth The Kingdom to earth.

In HIS Presence

Tuesday, February 4th, 2025

When we enter into HIS Presence, nothing else matters!

As you and I pursue entering in HIS Presence, our priorities become fully aligned with HIS.

King David understood this when he recorded the revelation by The Holy Spirit in Psalm chapter 27:

4 One thing I have desired of the LORD, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the House of the LORD All the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the LORD, And to inquire in His Temple.

This is the one thing David craved from YAHWEH, the one thing he sought above all else: he wanted to live with HIM every moment in HIS House, beholding the marvelous beauty of YAHWEH, filled with awe, delighting in HIS glory and grace.

Moses had this revelation as well.

Moses recorded by The Holy Spirit in Exodus chapter 33:

7 Moses took his tent and pitched it outside the camp, far from the camp, and called it the Tabernacle of meeting. And it came to pass that everyone who sought the LORD went out to the Tabernacle of meeting which was outside the camp

9 And it came to pass, when Moses entered the tabernacle, that the Pillar of cloud descended and stood at the door of the Tabernacle, and the LORD talked with Moses.

10 All the people saw the pillar of cloud standing at the Tabernacle door, and all the people rose and worshiped, each man in his tent door.

11 So the LORD spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. And he would return to the camp, but his servant Joshua the son of Nun, a young man, did not depart from the tabernacle.

The LORD treated Moses as a friend!

12 Then Moses said to the LORD, “See, You say to me, ‘Bring up this people.’ But You have not let me know whom You will send with me. Yet You have said, ‘I know you by name, and you have also found grace in My Sight.’

13 Now therefore, I pray, if I have found grace in Your Sight, show me now Your way, that I may know You and that I may find grace in Your Sight. And consider that this nation is Your people.”

14 And HE said, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”

Moses wanted nothing less than to have the Presence of THE LORD with him at all times while traversing the wilderness toward the Promised Land.

King David recorded by The Holy Spirit in Psalm chapter 103:

7 He (THE LORD) made known His ways (relationship) to Moses, His acts (activity) to the children of Israel.

There is a clear distinction between knowing HIM and seeing HIS acts.  It is all about relationship.  How are we to pursue a closer relationship with THE LORD?

It is written by The Holy Spirit in Psalm chapter 100:

4 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His Name.

The gates represent the doorway or entrance into His courts.

We give HIM thanksgiving for what HE has provided for us, whether healing, restoration, finances, etc.  In praise, we honor HIM for being The Provider, HIS personality, HIS nature.  When GOD reveals an aspect of HIS nature, it always comes with an invitation for an encounter with HIM.

My deepest desire is to be in HIS Presence, and I trust it is yours as well.  All of the answers to life’s challenges are found in HIS Presence.

Greater Works

Monday, February 3rd, 2025

We are to be thankful and trustworthy so that we will see more and greater works!

You and I are meant to be examples to those around us as being led by The Holy Spirit.  Also, we are to surrender to Jesus’ commands concerning our walk.

In other Words, Jesus said, “I tell you this timeless Truth: The person who follows Me in faith, believing in me, will do the same mighty miracles that I do—even greater miracles than these because I go to be with my Father!”

Jesus set the standard that we are to seek and obtain.  The requirements include faith and expectation, an absence of unbelief.  Jesus did not mention any exceptions to the greater works we should expect.

Jesus further said:

15  “Loving Me empowers you to obey My commands.

16-17 And I will ask the Father and He will give you another Savior, the Holy Spirit of Truth, Who will be to you a friend just like Me—and He will never leave you. The world won’t receive Him because they can’t see Him or know Him. But you know Him intimately because He remains with you and will live inside you.

If we truly Love Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Savior, we will not be hesitant to exalt Him to others.  We are to be humble and not draw attention to ourselves.  Our greater works are not due to the number of believers, that would be pointless.  Each believer is to bring forth greater works.

The following is a comparison of works:

Matthew recorded by The Holy Spirit in Matthew 9:20-22 NKJV

And suddenly, a woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years came from behind and touched the hem of His garment.

21 For she said to herself, “If only I may touch His garment, I shall be made well.”

22 But Jesus turned around, and when He saw her He said, “Be of good cheer, daughter; your faith has made you well.” And the woman was made well from that hour.

Luke recorded the greater works of Paul as he recorded by The Holy Spirit in Acts chapter 19:

11 God kept releasing a flow of extraordinary miracles through the hands of Paul. 12 Because of this, people took Paul’s handkerchiefs and articles of clothing, even pieces of cloth that had touched his skin, laying them on the bodies of the sick, and diseases and demons left them and they were healed.

I have personally participated and witnessed the same miracle of praying over a handkerchief and sending it to a girl in a hospital where she was immediately healed.  We are to hunger for more.

If I am thankful without being hungry for more, I will become complacent and return to the past.  If I am hungry for what is possible but I’m not thankful, first of all, I can’t be trusted with more, secondly, I will frustrate myself and become anxious.  It is the combination of the two, to be trustworthy with the more that GOD desires to release.

The Character And Power Of The Holy Spirit

Do not grieve The Holy Spirit and do not quench The Holy Spirit!

You and I are meant to be examples to those around us as being led by The Holy Spirit.  Paul qualifies this walk by explaining what grieving The Holy Spirit entails.

Paul wrote by The Holy Spirit in Ephesians chapter 4:

25 So discard every form of dishonesty and lying so that you will be known as one who always speaks the Truth, for we all belong to one another.

26 But don’t let the passion of your emotions lead you to sin! Don’t let anger control you or be fuel for revenge, not for even a day.

27 Don’t give the slanderous accuser, the Devil, an opportunity to manipulate you! 28 If any one of you has stolen from someone else, never do it again. Instead, be industrious, earning an honest living, and then you’ll have enough to bless those in need.

29 And never let ugly or hateful words come from your mouth, but instead let your words become beautiful gifts that encourage others; do this by speaking words of grace to help them.

30 The Holy Spirit of God has sealed you in Jesus Christ until you experience your full salvation. So never grieve the Spirit of God or take for granted his Holy influence in your life.

We grieve Him when we have wrong desires, wrong actions, wrong attitudes, when we participate with the inferior, or when we participate with evil in any way.

Paul wrote by The Holy Spirit in 1st Thessalonians chapter 5:

19 Do not quench the Holy Spirit.

In other Words, never restrain or put out the fire of the Holy Spirit.  The word quench means: to extinguish, of fire or things on fire, to suppress, stifle of Divine influence.

You and I have the ability to suppress, stop the flow, the operation of The Holy Spirit in our lives, so don’t!  We are to walk in full surrender of The Holy Spirit.  In essence, we are to walk in both the character and power of The Holy Spirit.

Jesus never grieved or quenched The Holy Spirit during His earthly ministry.  He lived as a man dependent on God.  What was the result?

The Beloved Disciple recorded by The Holy Spirit in John chapter 21:

24 I, John, am that disciple who has written these things to testify of the Truth, and we know that what I’ve documented is accurate.

25 Jesus did countless things that I haven’t included here. And if every one of His works were written down and described one by one, I suppose that the world itself wouldn’t have enough room to contain the books that would have to be written!

Jesus expects a similar impact of the New Testament believer.  He stated in John chapter 14:

11 Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves.

15 “If you love Me, keep My commandments.

16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever-

17 the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.

As we walk in the character and power of The Holy Spirit, we will do the greater works IN HIM and our works will glorify THE FATHER.

The Promised Land

Saturday, February 1st, 2025

Every Scripture is GOD-breathed and is to instruct, correct, and lead us into the path of Godliness!

Often times in the past, there have been ministries who have downplayed the importance of the Old Testament.  Paul didn’t!

However, Paul wrote by The Holy Spirit in Romans chapter 15:

4 Whatever was written beforehand is meant to instruct us in how to live. The Scriptures impart to us encouragement and inspiration so that we can live in hope and endure all things.

And in 2nd Timothy chapter 3:

15 Remember what you were taught from your childhood from the Holy Scrolls which can impart to you Wisdom to experience everlasting Life through the faith of Jesus, the Anointed One!

16 God has transmitted His very Substance into every Scripture, for It is God-breathed. It will empower you by Its instruction and correction, giving you the strength to take the right direction and lead you deeper into the path of Godliness. 17 Then you will be God’s servant, fully mature and perfectly prepared to fulfill any assignment God gives you.

Paul referenced Moses and the children of Israel as he wrote by The Holy Spirit in 1st Corinthians chapter 10:

1 Moreover, brethren, I do not want you to be unaware that all our fathers were under the cloud, all passed through the sea,

2 all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea,

3 all ate the same Spiritual food,

4 and all drank the same Spiritual drink. For they drank of that Spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ.

5 But with most of them God was not well pleased, for their bodies were scattered in the wilderness.

6 Now these things became our examples, to the intent that we should not lust after evil things as they also lusted.

7 And do not become idolaters as were some of them. As it is written, “The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.”

8 Nor let us commit sexual immorality, as some of them did, and in one day twenty-three thousand fell;

9 nor let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed by serpents;

10 nor complain, as some of them also complained, and were destroyed by the destroyer.

11 Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come.

There is much instruction toward a deeper understanding of the challenges toward maturity for those of us who truly want to be fully led by The Holy Spirit.  The example of the children of Israel being set free from Egypt (the world system) and were meant to enter the Promised Land (GOD’S Kingdom on earth) is such an example.  Paul directed our attention to this account written by Moses.

This story illustrates the normal Christian life, it doesn’t illustrate entrance into Heaven, but entrance into the reality of the Kingdom of God here on earth.

Some things ended at the cross (animal sacrifice), some things made it through the cross changed (Sabbath rest), and some things came through the cross unchanged (Davidic worship, music).  The entire Old Testament has that reality to It.

The Promised Land story is an ongoing invitation for more!

Jesus illustrated the normal Christian Life.  Paul expressed this Truth as he recorded in Ephesians chapter 5:

1 Be imitators of God in everything you do, for then you will represent your Father as His Beloved sons and daughters.

2 And continue to walk surrendered to the extravagant Love of Christ, for He surrendered His Life as a sacrifice for us. His great Love for us was pleasing to God, like an aroma of adoration—a sweet healing fragrance.

Our goal should be to bring forth Heaven to earth and reside in the Promised Land in Godliness.
