Every believer has the privilege of living from Heaven towards Earth!
That is what it means to abide in Christ.
Jesus spoke concerning the mindset in Mark chapter 8:
13 And Jesus left them, and getting into the boat again, departed to the other side. 14 Now the disciples had forgotten to take bread, and they did not have more than one loaf with them in the boat.
15 Then He charged them, saying, “Take heed (be on your guard), beware of the leaven of the Pharisees (religious tradition and form) and the leaven of Herod (humanism).”
Jesus also spoke of the mindset of Heaven in Matthew chapter 13:
33 Another parable Jesus spoke to them: “The Kingdom of Heaven is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal till it was all leavened.”
Jesus gave us three examples of leaven and He warned us against two of them. The Word of GOD is intended to permeate throughout the earth until the Kingdom covers the entire earth.
When GOD is asking us a question, HE is never lacking information. It is needful to return to Mark chapter 8 where the disciples were in the boat with only one loaf of bread.
Jesus asked them in Mark 8:
15 Then Jesus charged them, saying, “Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod.”
16 And they reasoned among themselves, saying, “It is because we have no bread.”
17 But Jesus, being aware of it, said to them, “Why do you reason because you have no bread? Do you not yet perceive nor understand? Is your heart still hardened?
18 Having eyes, do you not see?
And having ears, do you not hear?
And do you not remember?
At a minimum, we need to remember the Works of GOD in our individual lives. As we do, our hearing will improve. As our hearing improves, our eyesight will improve allowing us to see beyond the natural as Jesus did.
These questions were meant to lead the disciples and us into understanding how the Kingdom of GOD works.
Jesus empowered the disciples to do the same things He did.
Jesus sent out the twelve disciples in Luke chapter 9:
1 Then Jesus called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases.
2 He sent them to preach the Kingdom of God and to heal the sick.
3 And He said to them, “Take nothing for the journey, neither staffs nor bag nor bread nor money; and do not have two tunics apiece.
4 “Whatever house you enter, stay there, and from there depart.
5 And whoever will not receive you, when you go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet as a testimony against them.”
6 So they departed and went through the towns, preaching the Gospel and healing everywhere.
When they returned, the next event was for Jesus to feed the five thousand. So, the disciples healed the sick, assisted in feeding the five thousand, and then hopped in the boat to go to the other side when Jesus posed the questions in Mark chapter 8. Their mindsets had not changed even though they healed the sick and fed 5,000.
They evidently had short memories and failed to apply the principles of the Kingdom to the one loaf of bread in the boat. It was all about their mindset being anchored in the natural.
Whatever you treasure in your heart determines your mindset and affects your ability to hear and see beyond the natural. Our heart influences what comes out of our mouth which is an indicator of what is treasured in our heart.
If you watch your heart, you don’t have to watch what you say! The indication that our heart needs help is hearing what comes out of our mouth. When the disciples pointed to a lack of bread, they missed the point of feeding the 5,000. Jesus saw no lack. Instead, He saw abundance.
Reasoning will abort The Word of GOD that has been given to us. We are to treasure the Life in The Word and It should become preeminent if our lives.
When we are under pressure, what is in our heart is revealed by our words and our actions. Trials are meant to show us where we are on our walk. Are we blaming other people around us for our situation or are we taking responsibility?
We are to come into agreement with GOD in whatever confronts us. HE has the answer for every situation. HE wants us to hear and see from HIS perspective, not the world’s. If you are having trouble hearing and seeing, then start remembering all the things HE has done in your past. If needed, go back to what HE did for Moses and the children of Israel when HE led them out of Egypt. They observed miracles every day, 24X7, for forty years yet they complained.
We need to start living from Heaven’s perspective.
