Pursuing Holiness- Part 47

Sunday, June 23rd, 2024

When we walk in Holiness, we will walk in greater faith because we hear GOD’S Voice and respond accordingly!

There are two Greek words that are translated “WORD”: G4487 rhēma and G3056 logos.

When Jesus was tempted by the devil, He spoke in Matthew chapter 4:

1 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.

2 And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry.

3 Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.”

4 But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word (G4487 rhēma) that proceeds from the Mouth of God.'”

This rhēma Word is the whole counsel of GOD, eternal, unchanged, complete.  We cannot apprehend the whole counsel of GOD for we have finite minds.  FATHER will speak a rhēma Word for us to receive personally and within our ability to comprehend HIS counsel specific to our lives.

The total counsel of GOD is imparted to us in portions so that we are able to receive it and walk in the rhēma Word we have been given.  HE is well aware of our capacity to receive HIS rhēma Word and will not tell us more than we can handle based on our level of maturity.  HE will impart a rhēma Word each day to develop our capacity to receive greater instructions in our walk.  HE patiently builds up our spiritual maturity so that we can walk in a greater level of power and authority.  HE will correct us as needed; this is what Love does!

Moses recorded by THE SPIRIT in Deuteronomy chapter 8:

1 “Every commandment (rhēma) which I command you today you must be careful to observe, that you may live and multiply, and go in and possess the land of which the LORD swore to your fathers.

2 And you shall remember that the LORD your God led you all the way these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you and test you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments (rhēma) or not.

3 So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every Word (rhēma) that proceeds from the Mouth of the LORD.

4 Your garments did not wear out on you, nor did your foot swell these forty years. 5 You should know in your heart that as a man chastens his son, so the LORD your God chastens you.

6 “Therefore you shall keep the commandments (rhēma) of the LORD your God, to walk in His ways and to fear Him.

7 For the LORD your God is bringing you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and springs, that flow out of valleys and hills;

8 a land of wheat and barley, of vines and fig trees and pomegranates, a land of olive oil and honey;

9 a land in which you will eat bread without scarcity, in which you will lack nothing; a land whose stones are iron and out of whose hills you can dig copper. 10 When you have eaten and are full, then you shall bless the LORD your God for the good land which He has given you.

11 “Beware that you do not forget the LORD your God by not keeping His commandments, His judgments, and His statutes which I command you today,

FATHER instructs us just as HE instructed Israel with HIS (rhēma) Word.  The result of hearing and responding to HIS (rhēma) Word will produce the same benefits HE stated to the children of Israel.

Our faith increases as we hear and respond to the (rhēma) Word of Christ.  The more we hear the (rhēma) Word, the stronger we become.

As Paul wrote by The Holy Spirit in Romans chapter 10:

17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the (rhēma) Word of God.

What should be our highest priority?  It is to hear the (rhēma) Word and respond to It!

When we walk in Holiness, we will walk in faith because we hear GOD’S Voice!

FATHER’S Voice is intimate and personal to each of us individually.  HIS Words are multifaceted and ministers to our spirit in accordance with what is needed at the time.

Paul wrote by The Holy Spirit in Romans chapter 10:

17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word (G4487 rhēma) of God.

In other Words, faith, then, is birthed in a heart that responds to God’s anointed Utterance of the Anointed One.

There are two Greek words that are translated “WORD”: G4487 rhēma and G3056 logos.

The Beloved Disciple wrote by The Holy Spirit in John chapter 1:

1 In the beginning was the Word (G3056 logos), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2 He was in the beginning with God.

3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.

4 In Him was Life, and the Life was the light of men.

5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

Logos is the mind, total counsel, and reason of GOD.

David recorded by THE SPIRIT in Psalm chapter 119:

89 Forever, O LORD, Your Word is settled in Heaven.

In other Words, standing firm in the heavens and fastened to eternity is the Word of God.  FATHER’S Word is concise and totally reliable.  It expresses FATHER’S Divine Intent.  HIS Word’s preciseness is reflected in the heavens.  Scientists are able to precisely calculate astronomical events only because of the reliability of GOD’S Word when HE established the heavens.  All of the natural laws were established by HIS precise Word, you can count on it!  It can’t be changed.  This is also true of HIS Spoken Word to each of us.

The Logos Word is summed up in the Person of Jesus Christ as John wrote in the above passage.  There is no variance in Jesus Christ, so if there is an issue, it is with you and me.  Jesus is the total purpose, counsel, and Mind of GOD.

Jesus spoke in John chapter 14:

6 Jesus said to him, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

7 “If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.”

8 Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us.”

9 Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?

10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The Words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father Who dwells in Me does the works.

11 Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves.

Jesus heard HIS FATHER’S Voice and precisely carried out The Word as directed.  HE served FATHER’S Divine Intent with no variance whatsoever.  As we walk in Holiness, we will do the same… not my will but Your Will be done!

In order to do FATHER’S Will, we must clearly hear HIS Voice.

When we walk in Holiness, we will live in the “now”!

As I wrote yesterday, we are to diligently hearken to the Voice of THE LORD.  HIS Voice is intangible thus we can only hear using only one of our five physical senses.

When something is tangible, it has a past and a future.  When it is intangible, it relies solely on the present.  Most Christians focus on the past or the future whereas FATHER wants us to focus on the present.

Jesus was making this point when He spoke in Matthew chapter 6:

25  “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?

26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?

27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?

28 “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin;

29 and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

30 Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’

32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your Heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.

33 But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

In other Words, “Refuse to worry about tomorrow, but deal with each challenge that comes your way, one day at a time. Tomorrow will take care of itself.”  As we walk in Holiness and hearken diligently to what THE LORD is saying, we will deal with each event or challenge according to HIS perfect Plan, Will, and pleasure.

We will not worry about the future or dwell on the past.  Any anxiety will dissipate from our consciousness.

When we focus on hearing GOD’S Voice, we will walk in the present as Jesus urged us to do.

Moses recorded by THE SPIRIT in Exodus chapter 3:

13  Then Moses said to God, “Indeed, when I come to the children of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they say to me, ‘What is His name?’ what shall I say to them?”

14 And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.‘”

15 Moreover God said to Moses, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel: ‘The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is My Name forever, and this is My memorial to all generations.’

Our Heavenly Father is not restricted to the past or future.  In essence, HE is always in “the now”.  HE is not the “I was who I was” or “I will be who I will be”, but HE IS THE GREAT I AM, without beginning or end!

Those who are walking in Holiness will focus on “the now” and not be concerned about the past or future.  The future is in FATHER’S Hands.

When the disciples asked Jesus about the coming of the Son of Man, Jesus responded by saying in Matthew chapter 24:

36  “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.

37 But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.

38 For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark,

39 and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.

44 Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

We are to simply focus on walking in Holiness and not concern ourselves with attempting to discover the day or the hour!

As we pursue walking in Holiness, our ability to hear FATHER’S Voice will dramatically improve!

FATHER instructs us to hearken diligently to HIS Voice.  If we couldn’t, HE would not have instructed us to do so.

One of the most dramatic contrasts of hearkening to HIS Voice is found when Moses recorded by THE SPIRIT in Deuteronomy chapter 28:

1 “Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the Voice of the LORD Your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the LORD Your God will set you high above all nations of the earth.

2 And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the LORD your God:

The blessings are detailed in verses 3 through 13

In summation:

14 So you shall not turn aside from any of the Words which I command you this day, to the right or the left, to go after other gods to serve them.

In contrast:

15 “But it shall come to pass, if you do not obey the Voice of the LORD Your God, to observe carefully all His commandments and His statutes which I command you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you:

The curses are detailed in verses 16 through 68.

Moses also recorded in Deuteronomy chapter 11:

13  ‘And it shall be that if you hearken diligently and earnestly obey My commandments which I command you today, to Love the LORD your God and serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul,

18 “Therefore you shall lay up these Words of Mine in your heart and in your soul, and bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.

26 “Behold, I set before you today a blessing and a curse:

27 the blessing, if you obey the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you today;

28 and the curse, if you do not obey the commandments of the LORD Your God, but turn aside from the way which I command you today, to go after other gods which you have not known.

The phrase “hearken diligently” is made of the Hebrew word šāmaʿ (H8085) used twice: šāmaʿ šāmaʿ.  Listen, listen or, listen and in listening or, listen closely.  Any time a word is repeated, we are to closely pay attention, it is vital for our understanding and future.

And in Exodus chapter 15:

26 and said, “If you diligently heed (H8085 H8085) the Voice of the LORD Your God and do what is right in His Sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the LORD who heals you.”

Consider what Jesus said to Saul in Acts chapter 9:

3 As he journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven.

4 Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?”

Jesus spoke in Luke chapter 22:

31  And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat.

32 But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.”

Jesus spoke emphatically as He would say “verily, verily” which was also translated “I speak an Eternal Truth” when He spoke in John chapter 5:

19 Then Jesus answered and said to them, “Most assuredly (verily, verily), I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.

In the Gospel of John, “verily, verily” is used 25 times.  Jesus was emphatic as He spoke Eternal Truths to us.

As we pursue walking in Holiness, we will quiet our soul and separate ourself from the noise of the world.  As we do, our spiritual ears become more attentive to hear what The Holy Spirit is saying.

Loud music is a distraction. TV can be a distraction.  Entertainment can be a distraction.  One well known evangelist once said that he separated himself by going to a cabin in the woods to hear GOD’S Voice.  The first six days, he heard nothing.  Finally, he could hear FATHER speaking once again.  I can relate!

Don’t be surprised if separation to a quiet place is required as you pursue walking in Holiness.

Pursuing Holiness- Part 43

When we are walking in Holiness, we only obey Our Heavenly Father, and we will be known as Sons and Daughters of GOD!

There are many believers who want to be known as “Sons or Daughters of GOD”, yet they have not committed themselves to walk in Holiness.

John wrote by The Holy Spirit in John chapter 1:

12 But as many as received Jesus, to them gave the right to become the Sons of God, even to them that believe on His Name

There is a difference between having the right versus manifesting sonship.

Paul made the further distinction when he wrote by The Holy Spirit in Romans chapter 8:

14  For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are Sons (and Daughters) of God.

As a believer, you have the potential to be included in this group.  The key to acceptance is being led by The Holy Spirit in all areas.

This whole series is focused on moving those of us who are embracing this revelation into full qualification and manifestation as Sons and Daughters of GOD!

15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”

When you truly see the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY as your FATHER, you are moving toward maturity as an acceptable Son or Daughter.  You no longer refer to HIM as GOD, you now have an intimate relationship with HIM as FATHER.

16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are Children of God,

17 and if Children, then heirs-heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.

The Holy Spirit will bear witness to our sonship.  The mere fact that you are embracing this series is an indication that The Holy Spirit is drawing you into this revelation.

18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

19 For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the Sons of God.

20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope;

21 because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the Children of God.

22 For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now.

23 Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body.

Creation is awaiting our full maturity.  We are to be the firstfruits company to be presented and accepted by FATHER WHO will in turn allow the full harvest to be completed.

28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who Love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

Let us not despise the testing and training we have all gone through as we move toward full maturity in Christ.

29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the Image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.

30 Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.

FATHER predestined Paul to be conformed to the Image of Christ and HE intervened to correct Paul’s path in order to reveal his true calling.  FATHER has no problem in correcting our individual paths as well.  However, we do have the choice to be included once we have been chosen.  As for my wife and I, we choose Holiness leading to mature sonship.

Pursuing Holiness- Part 42

When we are walking in Holiness and operating in our calling, we will act immediately and without hesitation!

Once Saul’s heart was transformed and as he received the Baptism of The Holy Spirit, he did not delay in walking out his calling!  He was more than willing to confront his former supporters.

Luke recorded by The Holy Spirit in Acts chapter 9:

20  Immediately he preached the Christ in the synagogues, that He is the Son of God.

This is the only one of two times in the Book of Acts that the phrase “Son of GOD” is used to describe Jesus.  Philip used this same phrase in Acts 8:37. Sonship relates to full and complete obedience to Our Heavenly Father.

21 Then all who heard were amazed, and said, “Is this not he who destroyed those who called on this Name in Jerusalem, and has come here for that purpose, so that he might bring them bound to the chief priests?”

22 But Saul increased all the more in strength, and confounded the Jews who dwelt in Damascus, proving that this Jesus is the Christ.

We should not be surprised when an enemy of Christ is converted.  Saul’s power increased greatly as he became more and more proficient in proving that Jesus was the anointed Messiah. Saul remained there for several days with the disciples, even though it agitated the Jews of Damascus.

Saul declared that Jesus was The Son of GOD!  Thus, Truth was resisted by the Jews who knew their power would evaporate once the people heard such a Truth!  Saul went from a hero of the Jews to an archenemy of the Jews in less than a week.

23 Now after many days were past, the Jews plotted to kill him.

24 But their plot became known to Saul. And they watched the gates day and night, to kill him.

25 Then the disciples took him by night and let him down through the wall in a large basket.

26 And when Saul had come to Jerusalem, he tried to join the disciples; but they were all afraid of him, and did not believe that he was a disciple.

27 But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles. And he declared to them how he had seen the Lord on the road, and that He had spoken to him, and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus.

28 So he was with them at Jerusalem, coming in and going out.

29 And he spoke boldly in the Name of the Lord Jesus and disputed against the Hellenists, but they attempted to kill him.

30 When the brethren found out, they brought him down to Caesarea and sent him out to Tarsus.

31 Then the churches throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace and were edified. And walking in the Fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, they were multiplied.

As we speak boldly and declare The Name of THE LORD, we will be confronted by the adversary and his minions.  Jesus was confronted by the Jews in like manner during His earthly ministry.

Jesus spoke in John chapter 8:

37  “I know that you are Abraham’s descendants, but you seek to kill Me, because My Word has no place in you.

38 I speak what I have seen with My Father, and you do what you have seen with your father.

39 They answered and said to Him, “Abraham is our father.” Jesus said to them, “If you were Abraham’s children, you would do the works of Abraham.

40 But now you seek to kill Me, a Man who has told you the Truth which I heard from God. Abraham did not do this.

41 You do the deeds of your father.” Then they said to Him, “We were not born of fornication; we have one Father-God.”

42 Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would Love Me, for I proceeded forth and came from God; nor have I come of Myself, but He sent Me.

43 Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My Word.

44 You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the Truth, because there is no Truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.

45 But because I tell the Truth, you do not believe Me.

46 Which of you convicts Me of sin? And if I tell the Truth, why do you not believe Me?

47 He who is of God hears God’s Words; therefore you do not hear, because you are not of God.”

As we walk in Holiness, we will confront the father of lies head on just as Jesus did, just as Paul did.  Let us walk in full assurance, immediately, and without hesitation.

Broken Promises?

John F. Kennedy Quote: Let us never negotiate out of fear. But let us never fear to negotiate.

An Eastern European Perspective:

FYI: U.S. Congress has begun the process to resurrect the Selective Service Requirement for both men & women, 18 to 26 years of age. Are they planning on drafting our young people like they did us in the 1960’s and 70’s? How many people must die in the needless wars?

Once again, the solution is Spiritual!

Pursuing Holiness- Part 39

Saturday, June 15th, 2024

As we walk in Holiness, we will be directed to those who are ready to receive The Word, supernaturally if necessary!

Philip’s ministry had a great impact on the city of Samaria.  People were healed and demons were cast out.  They saw the miracles he did.  This resulted in

an uncontainable joy filling the city!

This is the template of how one walking in Holiness can impact an entire city.

Luke recorded by The Holy Spirit in Acts chapter 8:

26 Now an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip, saying, “Arise and go toward the south along the road which goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.” This is desert.

When we are walking in true Holiness, angels are dispatched to us to give us instructions from Above.  There is no question of the next steps we are to take.  Philip responded to the angel’s instructions:

27 So he arose and went. And behold, a man of Ethiopia, a eunuch of great authority under Candace the queen of the Ethiopians, who had charge of all her treasury, and had come to Jerusalem to worship,

28 was returning. And sitting in his chariot, he was reading Isaiah the prophet.

29 Then the Spirit said to Philip, “Go near and overtake this chariot.”

30 So Philip ran to him, and heard him reading the prophet Isaiah, and said, “Do you understand what you are reading?”

31 And he said, “How can I, unless someone guides me?” And he asked Philip to come up and sit with him.

32 The place in the Scripture (Isaiah 53) which he read was this: “He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; And as a lamb before its shearer is silent, So He opened not His Mouth. 33 In His humiliation His justice was taken away, And who will declare His generation? For His life is taken from the earth.”

34 So the eunuch answered Philip and said, “I ask you, of whom does the prophet say this, of himself or of some other man?”

In order to minister at this level of Holiness, we must know Scripture and be able to preach and teach it to those who have little or no understanding.

35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning at this Scripture, preached Jesus to him.

36 Now as they went down the road, they came to some water. And the eunuch said, “See, here is water. What hinders me from being baptized?”

37 Then Philip said, “If you believe with all your heart, you may.” And he answered and said, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.”

Faith came by hearing The Word of GOD and brought forth salvation to the Eunuch.

38 So he commanded the chariot to stand still. And both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water, and he baptized him.

39 Now when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught Philip away, so that the eunuch saw him no more; and he went on his way rejoicing.

40 But Philip was found at Azotus. And passing through, he preached in all the cities till he came to Caesarea.

This eunuch was a very influential man who oversaw the treasury of the dynasty of Ethiopian queens.  The impact of this encounter would be great among the Ethiopians.

After the encounter, Philip was harpazo’d to Azotus.  Walking in Holiness removes the restrictions of the natural laws.  You will become accustomed to operating in the supernatural so that the Kingdom of GOD will be established at an ever-increasing rate.

Is escalation inevitable?

Those who walk in Holiness will be prepared!

Pepe Escobar, a Brazilian Journalist calls it: The summer of living dangerously!

I suggest you listen closely to this interview:

As I continue to proclaim: The solution is Spiritual in nature.

Don’t be caught unaware!  A false flag event could occur at any time, anywhere.  It would be used to convince the population to support the current narrative. Only The Holy Spirit can guide us into all Truth!

Pursuing Holiness- Part 38

Friday, June 14th, 2024

As we walk in Holiness, we should expect to identify and cast out demons, and in response, some will challenge the source of our power!

Luke recorded by The Holy Spirit in Luke chapter 11:

14  And Jesus was casting out a demon, and it was mute. So it was, when the demon had gone out, that the mute spoke; and the multitudes marveled.

15 But some of them said, “He casts out demons by Beelzebub, the ruler of the demons.”

Jesus responded to their challenge.

16  Others, testing Him, sought from Him a sign from Heaven.

17 But He, knowing their thoughts, said to them: “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and a house divided against a house falls.

18 If satan also is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? Because you say I cast out demons by beelzebub.

19 And if I cast out demons by beelzebub, by whom do your sons (exorcists) cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges.

20 But if I cast out demons with the Finger of God, surely the Kingdom of God has come upon you.

21 When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own palace, his goods are in peace. 22 But when a stronger than he comes upon him and overcomes him, he takes from him all his armor in which he trusted, and divides his spoils.

23 He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters.

As we mature in Holiness, we should expect to do the same acts as Jesus did.  Philip is a perfect example of walking in Holiness.  He was not Philip the apostle, but Philip who was selected along with Stephen to serve the people.

Luke recorded by The Holy Spirit in Acts chapter 6:

3 Therefore, brethren, seek out from among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and Wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business;

4 but we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word.” 5 And the saying pleased the whole multitude. And they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and the Holy Spirit, and Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas, a proselyte from Antioch,

6 whom they set before the apostles; and when they had prayed, they laid hands on them.

After the persecution of Stephen, the church scattered but the apostles remained in Jerusalem.  Philip was one of those who left Jerusalem and went to Samaria:

In Acts chapter 8:

4  Therefore those who were scattered went everywhere preaching the Word.

5 Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria and preached Christ to them.

6 And the multitudes with one accord heeded the things spoken by Philip, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.

7 For unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice, came out of many who were possessed; and many who were paralyzed and lame were healed.

8 And there was great joy in that city.

Both Stephen and Philip operated in the same power and authority as Jesus.  Neither were of the original disciples.  We should not underestimate the ability of The Holy Spirit to operate in us in the same power and authority as these two men.  It is vital for us to embrace the ministry of The Holy Spirit Who resides in us and awaits the change and maturity in our mindset.  We are to be fully led by The Holy Spirit rather than our mind.

We should not be timid when power and authority are manifested in our individual walks.  Yes, we can expect challenges from those who are submitted to the adversary.  We are not to be moved by their false accusations.
