Time Of Communion

Monday, March 4th, 2024

How often should we take communion?

Jesus spoke in John 6:

26  Jesus answered them and said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because you saw the signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled.

27 Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting Life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His Seal on Him.”

28 Then they said to Him, “What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?”

29 Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him Whom He sent.”

30 Therefore they said to Him, “What sign will You perform then, that we may see it and believe You? What work will You do?

31 Our fathers ate the manna in the desert; as it is written, ‘He gave them bread from Heaven to eat.'”

32 Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, Moses did not give you the bread from Heaven, but My Father gives you the True Bread from Heaven.

33 For the Bread of God is He Who comes down from Heaven and gives Life to the world.”

34 Then they said to Him, “Lord, give us this bread always.”

35 And Jesus said to them, “I am the Bread of Life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.

FATHER gave the children of Israel Bread from Heaven daily and there was no sickness or disease among them.  Why?  They received their Daily Bread (Jesus’ Body).  Isn’t our Covenant superior to theirs?

Luke recorded by The Holy Spirit in Luke chapter 11:

1  Now it came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, that one of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.”

2 So He said to them, “When you pray, say:

Our Father in Heaven, Hallowed be Your Name.

Your Kingdom come.

Your Will be done On earth as it is in Heaven.

3 Give us day by day our daily Bread.

4 And forgive us our sins,

For we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us.

And do not lead us into temptation,

But deliver us from the evil one.”

Did Jesus give us an important key to walking in Divine health on a daily basis within the Model Prayer?  What Bread are we to take?

Luke recorded by The Holy Spirit in Acts chapter 2:

42  Every believer was faithfully devoted to following the teachings of the apostles. Their hearts were mutually linked to one another, sharing communion and coming together regularly for prayer.

43 A deep sense of Holy awe swept over everyone, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders.

44 All the believers were in fellowship as one body, and they shared with one another whatever they had.

45 Out of generosity they even sold their assets to distribute the proceeds to those who were in need among them.

46 Daily they met together in the temple courts and in one another’s homes to celebrate communion. They shared meals together with joyful hearts and tender humility.

47 They were continually filled with praises to God, enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord kept adding to their number daily those who were coming to life.

Why did the church grow so quickly in the beginning?  Healings and other signs were occurring at the hands of those who took communion daily.

Luke continues in Acts chapter 3:

1  Now Peter and John went up together to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour.

2 And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms from those who entered the temple;

3 who, seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked for alms.

4 And fixing his eyes on him, with John, Peter said, “Look at us.”

5 So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them.

6 Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.”

7 And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.

8 So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them-walking, leaping, and praising God.

9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God.

10 Then they knew that it was he who sat begging alms at the Beautiful Gate of the temple; and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.

Taking communion daily was (and is) the appropriate reminder of remembering The Body of Christ and Its healing power as well as His Blood of redemption.

With this in mind, Paul wrote by The Holy Spirit in Romans chapter 12:

1  I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, Holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect Will of God.

The early church took daily communion, renewing their minds.  Jesus said to take communion in remembrance of Him.  Shouldn’t we consider taking communion daily as well?

Identify The Leaven

Sunday, March 3rd, 2024

We must identify the “leaven” impacting The Body of Christ!

Paul wrote by The Holy Spirit in 1st Timothy chapter 4:

1  The Holy Spirit has explicitly revealed: At the end of this age, many will depart from the True faith one after another, devoting themselves to spirits of deception and following demon-inspired revelations and theories.

2 Hypocritical liars will deceive many, and their consciences won’t bother them at all!

3 They will require celibacy and dietary restrictions that GOD doesn’t expect, for HE created all foods to be received with the celebration of faith by those who fully know the Truth.

4 We know that all creation is beautiful to GOD and there is nothing to be refused if it is received with gratitude.

5 All that we eat is made Sacred by the Word of God and prayer.

My wife and I pray over our meal no matter where we are at… in public and private.  Publicly, it is a profession of our faith, and we are not embarrassed to pray in any venue.

6 If you will teach the believers these things, you will be known as a faithful and good minister of Jesus, the Anointed One. Nurture others in the living Words of faith and in the knowledge of grace which you were taught.

7 Be quick to abstain from senseless traditions and legends, but instead be engaged in the training of Truth that brings righteousness.

On the political front, there are so many lies and deception that they leave many with conflict about what will happen in the future.  The deception of propaganda spewed out by the various forms of social media is reaching a crescendo.  We must protect ourselves from those spirits of deception and following demon-inspired revelations and theories.

This is not a recent phenomenon.

Paul wrote by The Holy Spirit in his final greetings in Colossians chapter 4:

14 Luke the beloved physician greets you, as does Demas.

And in Philemon chapter 1:

23  Epaphras, my fellow prisoner in Christ Jesus, sends greetings to you,

24 and so do Mark, Aristarchus, Demas, and Luke, my fellow workers.

Later he wrote by The Holy Spirit in 2nd Timothy chapter 4:

9 Be diligent to come to me quickly;

10 For Demas, in love with this present world, has deserted me and gone to Thessalonica. Crescens has gone to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia.

11 Luke alone is with me. Get Mark and bring him with you, for he is very useful to me for ministry.

Demas had ministered side by side with Paul and Paul had identified him as a fellow worker.  Later, Demas deserted Paul and returned to his love for the present world.  He fell away from the Truth and returned his focus to the worldly trappings.  His name means “governor of the people” thus he had been exalted by the people as a leader.  It is believed that Demas was from aristocracy, privilege, and wealth.

Paul was in a serious situation and Demas forsook (abandoned) him.  He sent Timothy word to “come quickly”.  Demas had not gotten the world out of his heart.

There are those who have not removed the leaven out of their hearts who will abandon us in these last days.  Those who were thought to represent us will have their hearts revealed and the Truth of what is in their hearts will be exposed.  Don’t be surprised!  Expect the unexpected.  Don’t allow yourself to be captivated by anyone who in the past seemed to be on the same page as you.  As Paul wrote, many will fall away and depart from the True faith.

Beware Of The Leaven

Saturday, March 2nd, 2024

We are warned concerning “leaven” among us!

Jesus spoke concerning His Body in Luke chapter 22:

19 And He took bread, and when He had given thanks, He broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is My Body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of Me.”

His Body was sinless and was it not puffed up as leavened bread is.

Moses recorded by THE SPIRIT in Exodus chapter 12:

39 And they baked unleavened cakes of the dough that they had brought out of Egypt, for it was not leavened, because they were thrust out of Egypt and could not wait, nor had they prepared any provisions for themselves.

Leaven causes dough to rise, but the process takes time. The Israelites, when God freed them from captivity in Egypt, had no time to spare, so, in their haste, they baked and ate flat (unleavened) bread for their journey,

And in Exodus 12:

15 Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread. On the first day you shall remove leaven out of your houses, for if anyone eats what is leavened, from the first day until the seventh day, that person shall be cut off from Israel.

And in Exodus 13:

6  Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread, and on the seventh day there shall be a feast to the LORD.

7 Unleavened bread shall be eaten for seven days; no leavened bread shall be seen with you, and no leaven shall be seen with you in all your territory.

To commemorate of His deliverance from Egypt, God instructed the Israelites to celebrate a week of feasting following the Passover Day (the 14th day of the 1st month on the Jewish calendar). This was called the “Feast of Unleavened Bread.” During that time the Israelites were commanded to remove all leaven from their houses and eat no bread that contained leaven.

Leaven represents sin or corruption.

Jesus spoke in Matthew chapter 16:

5  When the disciples reached the other side, they had forgotten to bring any bread. 6 Jesus said to them, “Watch and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”

7 And they began discussing it among themselves, saying, “We brought no bread.” 8 But Jesus, aware of this, said, “O you of little faith, why are you discussing among yourselves the fact that you have no bread?

9 Do you not yet perceive? Do you not remember the five loaves for the five thousand, and how many baskets you gathered?

10 Or the seven loaves for the four thousand, and how many baskets you gathered? 11 How is it that you fail to understand that I did not speak about bread? Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”

12 Then they understood that He did not tell them to beware of the leaven of bread, but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.

Jesus compared the false teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees and Herodians to leaven. The Pharisees had come to Jesus to test Him, but Jesus perceived their true intent and the state of their hearts.

A small portion of the “leaven” of falsehood can permeate a person’s heart and mind.

Jesus spoke in Luke chapter 12:

1  In the meantime, when so many thousands of the people had gathered together that they were trampling one another, He began to say to His disciples first, “Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

2 Nothing is covered up that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known. 3 Therefore whatever you have said in the dark shall be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in private rooms shall be proclaimed on the housetops.

The word hypocrisy means: the practice of claiming to have moral standards or beliefs to which one’s own behavior does not conform.

Having a show of piety, without true Holiness, is like leaven in that it gradually increases and spreads corruption, puffing up a person with vanity. Lies and hypocrisy can poison one’s whole character.

Paul warned us by The Holy Spirit in 1st Corinthians chapter 5:

1 It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and of a kind that is not tolerated even among pagans, for a man has his father’s wife.

2 And you are arrogant! Ought you not rather to mourn? Let him who has done this be removed from among you.

3 For though absent in body, I am present in spirit; and as if present, I have already pronounced judgment on the one who did such a thing.

4 When you are assembled in the name of the Lord Jesus and my spirit is present, with the power of our Lord Jesus,

5 you are to deliver this man to satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord.

6 Your boasting is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump?

7 Cleanse out the old leaven that you may be a new lump, as you really are unleavened. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.

8 Let us therefore celebrate the festival, not with the old leaven, the leaven of malice and evil, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and Truth.

Sin and corruption must be removed from the True church.  Those who practice sin and lawlessness are unacceptable in the Presence of The Holy Spirit.  The true church will not condone unrighteous lifestyles and immorality.  Repentance is an absolute necessity to remove the leaven from the midst of the congregation.  Unchecked leaven will gradually spread among the congregation.

We must guard ourselves against those who would try to convince us that FATHER overlooks their sin and corruption under the guise of grace and mercy.  We must not forget HIS justice and judgment!

Another Kids In Need Update

Friday, March 1st, 2024

The admin team at the high school was meeting today and the counselors said that we had a new kid start school this week and he’s worn the same sweatshirt every day.  When the counselor asked him how he and his family were doing he said,”it’s hard.  I have several brothers and sisters and we don’t have any money.  I saw him in the hallway later in the morning and asked him if he would come see me (he thought he was in trouble).  I told him I just wanted to talk to him.  He came by at lunch and I gave him a gift card.  He took it and I said,”it’s a $50 gift card.”  He looked up with a huge smile and with an elevated voice said,”REALLY!!!”  I said,”yes!  Use it and go get another sweatshirt or whatever you need!”  He said, “thanks” 3 different times and left with a huge smile on his face!

Thank you to those who are able to join us in blessing these kids!
