Proverbs 15:33 TPT
The source of revelation-knowledge is found as you fall down in surrender before the Lord. Don’t expect to see Shekinah glory until the Lord sees your sincere humility.

Do The Impossible!

Tuesday, June 17th, 2025

Jesus, in His humanity, did the impossible!

How?

Jesus spoke in John chapter 5:

19 Then Jesus answered and said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.

20 For the Father Loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself does; and He will show Him greater works than these, that you may marvel.

21 For as the Father raises the dead and gives Life to them, even so the Son gives life to whom He will.

And:

30 “Nothing I do is from my own initiative. As I hear the judgment passed by My Father, I execute those judgments. And My judgments will be perfect, because I seek only to fulfill the desires of my Father Who sent Me.

Jesus reiterated in John chapter 8:

25 Then they said to Him, “Who are You?” And Jesus said to them, “Just what I have been saying to you from the beginning.

26 I have many things to say and to judge concerning you, but He Who sent Me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I heard from Him.”

27 They did not understand that He spoke to them of the Father.

28 Then Jesus said to them, “When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am He, and that I do nothing of Myself; but as My Father taught Me, I speak these things.

29 And He Who sent Me is with Me. The Father has not left Me alone, for I always do those things that please Him.”

The Spirit of GOD was upon Jesus to enable Him to make these statements!

Our connection to Our Heavenly Father’s Divine Intent is vital if we are to participate in the Great Commission.  This is why The Holy Spirit was sent to us.  It is imperative that we purposefully be led by The Holy Spirit in all aspects of our lives.

Jesus spoke of the critical nature of The Holy Spirit in John chapter 16:

13 However, when He, the Spirit of Truth, has come, He will guide you into all Truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.

14 He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you.

15 All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.

What appears to be impossible on earth is possible to FATHER.  Are you willing to transition from worldly thinking to Heavenly thinking?  Both faith and trust are vital to the transition of our mindset.

Everyone that Jesus went to was totally healed.  Everyone that came to Him was also healed, but not everyone who was sick on the planet was healed.  The lame man at the gate called Beautiful wasn’t healed by Jesus even though he was in that condition during Jesus’ earthly ministry.  The lame man was alive and in the same city as Jesus when Jesus was healing people.

Luke recorded by The Holy Spirit in Acts chapter 3:

1 Now Peter and John went up together to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour.

2 And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms from those who entered the temple;

3 who, seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked for alms.

4 And fixing his eyes on him, with John, Peter said, “Look at us.”

5 So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them.

6 Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.”

7 And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.

Jesus never taught on unanswered prayers because He didn’t have any.  Jesus was inviting us, compelling us to enter into a stream of Live, a though of ministry where we do what He did.  The disciples responded and we read about their results such as the healing of the lame man.  Jesus didn’t restrict this Truth to them alone but included us in His expectation of ministry where all are healed!

Your ministry is not based on your gifts and talents but is based on your surrender to the leading of The Holy Spirit.  You don’t define your ministry by what you are good at.  Your ministry is defined by your obedience to what The Holy Spirit directs you to do and say… just like Jesus proclaimed.  This is how we move from the impossible to the possible.

Focus On GOD’S Provision

Monday, June 16th, 2025

Once you have experienced the miracle of GOD’S provision, you have lost the right to begin any thought process with what you don’t have!

Jesus did not create food out of nothing, the miracle of feeding both the four thousand and the five thousand was that He took what existed and multiplied it.

The essence of a mature Son and Daughter of GOD is that their mindset is now seeing situations with the same mindset of Jesus, from Heaven’s perspective.  We must consider this Truth with intense focus if we want to fulfill the Great Commission rather than just be observers.

Let’s revisit the teaching in the boat immediately after Jesus fed the four thousand.

Jesus focused on this very point of having the correct mindset as He questioned the disciples in Mark chapter 8:

13 And He left them, and getting into the boat again, departed to the other side.

14 Now the disciples had forgotten to take bread, and they did not have more than one loaf with them in the boat.

15 Then He charged them, saying, “Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod.”

16 And they reasoned among themselves, saying, “It is because we have no bread.”

17 But Jesus, being aware of it, said to them, “Why do you reason because you have no bread? Do you not yet perceive nor understand? Is your heart still hardened?

18 Having eyes, do you not see? And having ears, do you not hear? And do you not remember?

19 When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many baskets full of fragments did you take up?” They said to Him, “Twelve.”

20 “Also, when I broke the seven for the four thousand, how many large baskets full of fragments did you take up?” And they said, “Seven.”

21 So He said to them, “How is it you do not understand?”

That is quite a rebuke!  The disciples literally experienced Heaven’s abundance as they passed out the bread and fishes but had no idea the importance and implication of what had just happened.

Possibly the most important question Jesus asked, “Do you remember?”  Do you want to activate your hearing?  Meditate on not only The Word, but past testimonies, specifically those that applied to your situation.  Review the Works of GOD, review the activities of GOD.  Let these memories activate our hearing!  As we hear better, we see better.

If FATHER healed you once, will HE heal you again or withhold HIS healing power from you?  Does HE change?  No!  If HE healed you once, HE will heal you again.  If HE brought forth supernatural provision to you in the past, HE will do it again.

“FATHER, show me the nature of a father who would consistently provide for the needs of his children over and over again.  I desire to tap into the heartbeat of a father who Love people like You do!”

FATHER chooses to work in a way where HE receives the most glory.

Paul brought this Truth to light when he wrote by The Holy Spirit in 1st Corinthians chapter 1:

26 Brothers and sisters, consider who you were when God called you to salvation. Not many of you were wise scholars by human standards, nor were many of you in positions of power. Not many of you were considered the elite when you answered God’s call.

27 But God chose those whom the world considers foolish to shame those who think they are wise, and God chose the puny and powerless to shame the high and mighty.

28 He chose the lowly, the laughable in the world’s eyes—nobodies—so that he would shame the somebodies. For he chose what is regarded as insignificant in order to supersede what is regarded as prominent,

29 so that there would be no place for prideful boasting in God’s presence.

30 For it is not from man that we draw our life but from God as we are being joined to Jesus, the Anointed One. And now HE is our God-given Wisdom, our virtue, our Holiness, and our redemption. TPT

31 And this fulfills what is written: If anyone boasts, let him only boast in all that the Lord has done!

We qualify so let us trust in FATHER’S provision!

Our Great Reward

Sunday, June 15th, 2025

The Mind of Christ is our great Reward!

We are meant to see and think the way Jesus Christ, our Elder Brother, sees and thinks.

Paul wrote by The Holy Spirit in 1st Corinthians chapter 2:

16 For “who has known the mind of the LORD that he may instruct Him?” But we have the Mind of Christ.

Let’s take one example of having the Mind of Christ.

The Beloved Disciple recorded one of many miracles in John chapter 6:

1 After these things Jesus went over the Sea of Galilee, which is the Sea of Tiberias.

2 Then a great multitude followed Him, because they saw His signs which He performed on those who were diseased.

3 And Jesus went up on the mountain, and there He sat with His disciples.

4 Now the Passover, a feast of the Jews, was near.

5 Then Jesus lifted up His Ryes, and seeing a great multitude coming toward Him, He said to Philip, “Where shall we buy bread, that these may eat?”

Jesus doesn’t ask a question because He doesn’t know the answer; He ask the question to show the disciples’ where they are at in their walk and to stretch their faith.

6 But this He said to test him, for He Himself knew what He would do.

7 Philip answered Him, “Two hundred denarii worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may have a little.”

Philip was yet to see Heaven’s abundance; he was still in the mindset of scarcity.  Andrew was no different:

8 One of His disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, said to Him,

9 “There is a lad here who has five barley loaves and two small fish, but what are they among so many?”

10 Then Jesus said, “Make the people sit down.” Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.

11 And Jesus took the loaves, and when He had given thanks He distributed them to the disciples, and the disciples to those sitting down; and likewise of the fish, as much as they wanted.

12 So when they were filled, He said to His disciples, “Gather up the fragments that remain, so that nothing is lost.”

13 Therefore they gathered them up, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves which were left over by those who had eaten.

14 Then those men, when they had seen the sign that Jesus did, said, “This is truly the Prophet who is to come into the world.”

Jesus walked in Divine reasoning, and He would see the potential of a moment to bring forth Heaven to earth.  He brought forth the abundance of Heaven to the scarcity in the earth at that moment.  He was not restricted by what He was told by His disciples.

Starting with His perception is a gift that I long for.  I know biblically we have the Mind of Christ.  I want what is in my account to be in my possession and fully activated.  This is my pursuit, and I trust that it is yours as well.  I want my initial reaction to situations to be the Mind of Christ rather than a soulish reaction.

In Mark chapter 8 when Jesus spoke of the two miracles of feeding the multitudes, He warned the disciples:

15 Then He charged them, saying, “Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod.”

16 And they reasoned among themselves, saying, “It is because we have no bread.”

Jesus was warning them about the ways of thinking, the way you perceive reality can be shaped by these two themes.  They reflect the two primary movements in the earth apart from the Kingdom of GOD.

There is the leaven of The Kingdom, there is the leaven of Herod, and the leaven of the Pharisees.  Those are the three different perceptions of reality.

The other two perceptions (the Pharisees, Herod) are value systems that are not shaped by The Kingdom of GOD.  They are counterfeit perceptions.  They are anchoring our hearts into the inferior instead of living from the reality of GOD’S Rule and dominion toward the circumstances of life.

Every believer has the amazing privilege of living from Heaven towards earth.  Very few have embraced that privilege.  It is my pursuit to fully embrace Heaven’s value system by changing my mindset and discarding the world’s views and opinions.  This is what it means to abide in Christ.

Herod represents the political system; it is humanistic in nature.  It doesn’t mind you believing in GOD, just don’t bring that into the everyday affairs of life.  It’s okay to be a Christian, just don’t bring HIM into the political office or the classroom.  It’s man at the center of everything.

The Pharisees’ leaven is no better because while it believes in GOD, HE’S impersonal and powerless.  It’s in form, it’s in ritual, it’s in routine, it is not in relationship.  It isn’t anchored in encountering; it is simply a routine that we follow.  Both mindsets are cancer to your soul!

The disciples were not reasoning from Heaven’s perspective and Jesus brought this to their attention.  He was differentiating between Heaven’s perspective and the world’s perception of reality.

Our reasoning should not start with what we don’t have.  Instead, let our mindsets be healed and changed so that we view reality from Heaven’s perceptions, not the world’s.  This will be a great reward given to us from Our Heavenly Father.

The Goal Of Testimonies

Saturday, June 14th, 2025

Testimonies build us up because of the supernatural interventions of GOD!

Are you aware of the value of what’s in your mouth?  A testimony is a revelatory record that expresses the Heart, the Nature, the Covenant of GOD that actually invites people into a personal relationship with Jesus.

Jesus had a teaching session in the boat after He had just fed four thousand in Mark chapter 8:

14 Now, the disciples had forgotten to take bread with them, except for one loaf of flatbread.

15 And as they were sailing across the lake, Jesus repeatedly warned them, “Be on your guard against the yeast inside of the Pharisees and the yeast inside of Herod!” 16 But the disciples had no clue what Jesus was talking about, so they began to discuss it among themselves, saying, “Is he saying this because we forgot to bring bread?”

17 Knowing what they were thinking, Jesus said to them, “Why all this fussing over forgetting to bring bread? Do you still not see or understand what I say to you? Are your hearts still hard?

18 You have good eyes, yet you still don’t see, and you have good ears, yet you still don’t hear, neither do you remember.

19 When I multiplied the bread to feed more than five thousand people, how many baskets full of leftovers did you gather afterward?” “Twelve,” they replied.

20 “And when I multiplied food to feed over four thousand, how many large baskets full of leftovers did you gather afterwards?” “Seven,” they replied.

21 “Then how is it that you still don’t get it?”

The disciples saw and participated in the multiplication of bread, yet they still did not understand the supernatural though they had a loaf of flatbread that could be used to multiply just as Jesus did for the multitudes.  They were focused on the natural rather than accessing the supernatural.

We need to see into the supernatural, we need to hear in the supernatural, and we need to remember past testimonies of the supernatural.

Hearing GOD’S Voice is one of the three keys to the supernatural.

If you are having difficulty in hearing His Voice, meditate on The Word more.

Listen/watch testimonies that will provoke you to want to know HIM to a greater degree.  HE is the One Who does miracles on behalf of humanity.  It is in His Nature to express His Love toward us.

Moses expressed this Truth as he recorded by The Holy Spirit in Exodus chapter 33:

13 Now therefore, I pray, if I have found grace in Your Sight, show me now Your way, that I may know You and that I may find grace (enablement) in Your sight. And consider that this nation is Your people.”

Moses wanted to see HIS Ways that he might know HIM.  Testimonies provide us with the revelation and nature of HIS Ways.  All testimonies point to Jesus Christ!  The whole purpose of our journey is to know Him.  Every distraction takes us away from our intended journey.  Shouldn’t we purpose to remove distractions and unnecessary actions from our midst?  Are we compromising our walk in what we assign priorities to?

As we are led by The Holy Spirit to a greater degree, testimonies will result.  As testimonies increase, our confidence will increase thereby resulting in more testimonies.  Our good fruit will abound.

The goal is not miracles per se.  The goal is to walk with GOD, know HIM, and be led by HIM.  Miracles and testimonies are a by product of an intimate walk with FATHER.  As we seek this intimate relationship, we will reflect Jesus Christ in our lives and that reality will draw men unto Him.

The Upward Spiral

Friday, June 13th, 2025

Human logic does not understand the miraculous!

We don’t understand how FATHER performs miracles.  Men have tried to figure out how HE parted the Red Sea by natural means.  Who cares?  Does it really matter?

There is something about a testimony that conditions or positions us to receive for it provides hope from Above when a trial comes.  I am going to trust GOD, HE’S the One Who works wonders.  I don’t understand what HE’S going to do, I don’t understand how HE’S going to do it, but I am going to trust HIM.

We are instructed to set our hope in God, forget not the works of God, and keep His commandments. (Psalm 78:7)  Those are simple commands, but many have strayed away.  The testimony and the courage to obey are connected.  Are you courageous enough to stand on The Word whether spoken or written?

It takes courage to obey GOD!

Courage is defined as a willingness to act despite fear, motivated by a faith in God’s power and guidance. It’s not the absence of fear, but rather the ability to face challenges and adversity with steadfastness and trust in God’s promises.  We are to walk in courageous, radical obedience!

The Psalmist provided us with an example of this Truth as he recorded in Psalm chapter 78:

9 Take, for example, the sons of Ephraim. Though they were all equipped warriors, each with weapons, when the battle began they retreated and ran away in fear.

10 They didn’t really believe the promises of God; they refused to trust Him and move forward in faith.

11 They forgot His wonderful works and the miracles of the past.

They forgot past testimonies of GOD’s faithfulness toward Israel, and it cost them.  Remembering past testimonies helps us keep strong in our confidence and faith in GOD.

What happens to the testimonies of The Lord if we decline in sharing testimonies?  Then, we see miracles less.  If we see miracles less, we expect them less.  If we expect them less, we talk about them less to the point where we no longer expect miracles to happen.  It’s a downward spiral and miracles become a mere part of our history some time ago that GOD used to do such and such, where so much of the church is right now.

We are commanded not to let that downward spiral happen!  You and I are called to change that.  We are to be a part of FATHER’S Divine Intent for miracles to occur in our lives and in those to whom we minister as Jesus commanded.

Jesus commanded in Mark chapter 16:

15 And Jesus said to them (as un), “As you go into all the world, preach openly the wonderful news of the Gospel to the entire human race!

16 Whoever believes the good news and is baptized will be saved, and whoever does not believe the good news will be condemned.

17 And these miracle signs will accompany those who believe: They will drive out demons in the power of my name. They will speak in tongues.

18 They will be supernaturally protected from snakes and from drinking anything poisonous. And they will lay hands on the sick and heal them.”

Jesus expects miracles to follow us.  When those miracles happen, new testimonies are created to be shared and provide hope to all those in need.  Instead of a downward spiral, we are to initiate an upward spiral which will reach to Heaven!

From Impossible To Possible

Thursday, June 12th, 2025

Moving from impossible to possible is based on where you are viewing the situation!

Most churches do not expect miracles to take place, so their message has become ineffective to a certain degree.  The primary difference between true Christianity and the other religions is confirming signs and wonders, i.e., miracles.

Many pastors play it safe by not expecting the miraculous to confirm their messages.

It is written by The Holy Spirit in Hebrews chapter 13:

8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Jesus spoke in Matthew chapter 19:

26 But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

And He spoke in Mark chapter 9:

23 Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.

And in Mark chapter 10:

27 But Jesus looked at them and said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.”

It is vital for you and me to embrace these Truths!  Was Jesus triumphant in all situations He encountered?  Totally!  As we focus time and attention on GOD’S supernatural interventions, they become how we see, how we act, and how we pray.

Testimonies prophesy and reveal the Heart of GOD, His Nature, and His covenant given to us to operate from.  It is vital that we do not forget the testimonies of GOD!

It is written by The Holy Spirit in Psalm chapter 78:

1 Beloved ones, listen to this instruction. Open your heart to the revelation of this mystery that I share with you.

2 A parable and a proverb are hidden in what I say—an intriguing riddle from the past.

3-4 We’ve heard true stories from our fathers about our rich heritage. We will continue to tell our children and not hide from the rising generation the great marvels of our God—his miracles and power that have brought us all this far.

5 The story of Israel is a lesson in God’s ways. He established decrees for Jacob and established the law in Israel, and he commanded our forefathers to teach them to their children.

FATHER explicitly tells us to pass down testimonies of HIS power to each generation so they will not be forgotten.  Otherwise, they will rely on the world for their solutions.

6 For perpetuity God’s ways will be passed down from one generation to the next, even to those not yet born.

7 In this way, every generation will set its hope in God and not forget His wonderful works but keep His commandments.

8 By following His ways they will break the past bondage of their fickle fathers, who were a stubborn, rebellious generation and whose spirits strayed from the Eternal God. They refused to Love Him with all their hearts.

We must remember, if GOD performs a miracle in the past for others, HE will do it for me!

9 Take, for example, the sons of Ephraim. Though they were all equipped warriors, each with weapons, when the battle began they retreated and ran away in fear.

10 They didn’t really believe the promises of God; they refused to trust Him and move forward in faith.

11 They forgot His wonderful works and the miracles of the past,

12 even their exodus from Egypt, the epic miracle of His might. They forgot the glories of His power at the place of passing over.

13 God split the sea wide open, and the waters stood at attention on either side as the people passed on through!

14 By day the moving glory-cloud led them forward. And all through the night the fire-cloud stood as a sentry of light.

The renewing of our mind necessitates the remembrance of past miracles; else we cannot truly walk in The Way.

Keep All Testimonies Before You

Wednesday, June 11th, 2025

Testimonies are the same yesterday, today, and forever!

As I wrote yesterday:

The Hebrew word for “testimony,” often translated as “Aydooth” or “Edut,” is derived from a root word that means “do it again,” “repeat,” or “return”. Sharing a testimony in this context is not just a retelling of events, but a declaration that God’s power and authority can be repeated in the lives of others. It’s an affirmation that God’s actions in the past can be experienced again

It is vital for you and me to embrace this Truth!

Moses recorded by The Holy Spirit in Deuteronomy chapter 6:

1 “Now this is the commandment, and these are the statutes and judgments which the LORD Your God has commanded to teach you, that you may observe them in the land which you are crossing over to possess,

2 that you may fear the LORD your God, to keep all His statutes and His commandments which I command you, you and your son and your grandson, all the days of your life, and that your days may be prolonged.

3 Therefore hear, O Israel, and be careful to observe it, that it may be well with you, and that you may multiply greatly as the LORD God of your fathers has promised you-‘a land flowing with milk and honey.’

4 “Hear, O Israel: The LORD Our God, the LORD is One!

5 You shall Love The LORD Your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.

6]”And these Words which I command you today shall be in your heart.

7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.

8 You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.

9 You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

17 You shall diligently keep the commandments of the LORD your God, His testimonies, and His statutes which He has commanded you.

And:

20 “When your son asks you in time to come, saying, ‘What is the meaning of the testimonies, the statutes, and the judgments which the LORD our God has commanded you?’

24 And the LORD commanded us to observe all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that He might preserve us alive, as it is this day.

25 Then it will be righteousness for us, if we are careful to observe all these commandments before the LORD our God, as He has commanded us.’

Why are we to remember what FATHER has spoken in the past?  HIS Word is continuously applicable to the situations we each encounter.  The miracles that occurred on behalf of the children of Israel, are to show us that all things are possible for those who are His Children.  The “supernatural’ is “natural” with Our Heavenly Father.

Keeping a commandment is to obey GOD.  Keeping the statutes of GOD is where HE is teaching His value system.  In a commandment, HE is telling us what to think whereas in a statute, HE is telling us how to think, HIS perception of reality and how HE wants us to navigate life.

Keeping a testimony means that I hold the record of GOD’S interventions among people so close to me, that they become the “lenses” through which I see present problems or challenges.  I interpret them through a history with GOD.

If HE has miraculously healed me in the past, I know HE will do it again.  If HE gave me favor among men in the past, HE will do it again.  If HE came to my financial rescue in the past, clearly, HE will do it again.  I can attest to miracles in all three areas.

Let each of us walk in new testimonies that will encourage others around us.  This will give them hope for their situation!

Testimonies Are Repeatable

Tuesday, June 10th, 2025

Testimonies are meant to be repeated!

It’s an affirmation that God’s actions in the past can be experienced again.

Jesus spoke in Luke chapter 7:

22 Only then did Jesus answer the question posed by John’s disciples. “Now go back and tell John what you have just seen and heard here today. The blind are now seeing. The crippled are now walking. Those who were lepers are now cured. Those who were deaf are now hearing. Those who were dead are now brought back to life. The poor and broken are given the hope of salvation.

The miracles that Jesus performed are in the “plural” and not selective in nature.  Jesus healed “all”, not just some who were in a special category.  FATHER wants us to duplicate past testimonies as we minister to others, without exception.

A testimony was never meant to be a historical factor that pointed to an old event.  It was supposed to be a present tense reality that releases the activity of GOD into present situations.

Every testimony reveals the nature of GOD and reveals HIS covenant with us.

Charles Spurgeon wrote on July 17th, 1859:

When people hear about what God used to do, one of the things they say is: “Oh, that was a very long while ago.” They imagine that times have altered since then. Says one: “I can believe anything about the Reformation—the largest accounts that can possibly be given, I can take in.” “And so could I concerning Whitefield and Wesley,” says another, “all that is quite true, they did labour vigorously and successfully, but that was many years ago. Things were in a different state then from what they are now.”

Granted; but I want to know what the things have to do with it. I thought it was God that did it. Has God changed? Is he not an immutable God, the same yesterday, to-day and for ever? Does not that furnish an argument to prove that what God has done at one time He can do at another? Nay, I think I may push it a little further, and say what He has done once, is a prophecy of what He intends to do again—that the mighty works which have been accomplished in the olden time shall all be repeated, and the Lord’s song shall be sung again in Zion, and He shall again be greatly glorified.

Others among you say, “Oh, well I look upon these things as great prodigies—miracles. We are not to expect them every day.” That is the very reason why we do not get them. If we had learnt to expect them, we should no doubt obtain them, but we put them up on the shelf, as being out of the common order of our moderate religion, as being mere curiosities of Scripture history. We imagine such things, however true, to be prodigies of providence; we cannot imagine them to be according to the ordinary working of His mighty power. I beseech you, my friends, abjure that idea, put it out of your mind. Whatever God has done in the way of converting sinners is to be looked upon as a precedent, for “His arm is not shortened that He cannot save, not is His ear heavy that He cannot hear.”

If we are straitened at all, we are not straitened in ourselves, and with earnestness seek that God would restore to us the faith of the men of old, that we may richly enjoy His grace as in the days of old. Yet there is yet another disadvantage under which these old stories labour. The fact is, we have not seen them. Why, I may talk to you ever so long about revivals, but you won’t believe them half so much, nor half so truly, as if one were to occur in your very midst. If you saw it with your own eyes, then you would see the power of it.

If you had lived in Whitefield’s day, or had heard Grimshaw preach, you would believe anything. Grimshaw would preach twenty-four times a week: he would preach many times in the course of a sultry day, going from place on horseback. That man did preach. It seemed as if Heaven would come down to earth to listen to him. He spoke with a real earnestness, with all the fire of zeal that ever burned in mortal breast, and the people trembled while they listened to him, and said, “Certainly this is the Voice of God.”

It was the same with Whitefield. The people would seem to move to and fro while he spoke, even as the harvest field is moved with the wind. So mighty was the energy of God that after hearing such a sermon the hardest-hearted men would go away and say: “There must be something in it, I never heard the like.” Can you not realize these as literal facts? Do they stand up in all their brightness before your eyes? Then I think the stories you have heard with your ears should have a true and proper effect upon your lives.

-End of Quote-

We must pursue the Heart of GOD with all diligence and expect new testimonies of miracles to be wrought by our own personal ministry to others.  Let us no longer sit on the sidelines and only reflect on the past!
