We are to approach Our Heavenly Father by thanksgiving, praise, and worship!

Being a worshipper is what positions me to pray effectively.

Moses recorded what GOD spoke in Exodus chapter 19:

6 And you shall be to Me a Kingdom of priests and a Holy nation.’ These are the words which you shall speak to the children of Israel.”

It is also recorded by The Holy Spirit in Isaiah chapter 61:

6 But you will be known as Priests of YAHWEH, and called Servants of our God. You will feast on the wealth of nations and revel in their riches!

The prophecies in the past have now been consummated and exist in the present.

Peter recorded by The Holy Spirit in his Epistle 1^st Peter 2:

9 But you are God’s chosen treasure—priests who are kings, a spiritual “nation” set apart as God’s devoted ones. He called you out of darkness to experience His marvelous light, and now He claims you as His very own. He did this so that you would broadcast His glorious wonders throughout the world.

10 For at one time you were not God’s people, but now you are. At one time you knew nothing of God’s mercy, because you hadn’t received it yet, but now you are drenched with it!

And The Beloved Disciple recorded what he saw and heard in Revelation chapter 5:

9 And they sang a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll, And to open its seals; For You were slain, And have redeemed us to God by Your Blood Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation,

10 And have made us kings and priests to Our God; And we shall reign on the earth.”

The writer of Hebrews affirms the Truth of this better Covenant as he recorded by The Holy Spirit in Hebrews chapter 8:

6 But now Jesus the Messiah has accepted a priestly ministry which far surpasses theirs, since He is the catalyst of a better Covenant which contains far more wonderful promises!

Often, people enjoy singing songs about GOD but didn’t want to sing to HIM.  My desire is to be face-to-FACE with HIM.  True priests engage with HIM.

Our prayer should be, “FATHER, teach us this one thing, what is it like to minister to YOU?”

We are designed for something greater than we are experiencing.  To reach that higher level, we should pursue being in HIS Presence and allow HIM to direct us into full spiritual maturity.  We are designed to impact and influence the world around us.

Promises are the invitations from GOD to step into what is possible.  How can you know those promises specific to you if you can’t hear HIS Voice?  How can you hear HIS Voice if you don’t step into HIS Presence?

Worship is not a formula; it is a true, passionate desire to exalt THE LORD for Who HE is.  The psalmist understood this as the following Psalms declared:

Psalm 9:1 TPT

I will worship You, YAHWEH, with extended hands as my whole heart erupts with praise! I will tell everyone everywhere about Your wonderful works!

Psalm 48:9 TPT

Lord, as we worship You in your temple, we recall over and over Your kindness to us and Your unending Love.

Psalm 63:4 TPT

Daily I will worship You passionately and with all my heart. My arms will wave to You like banners of praise.

Psalm 116:17 TPT

Now I’ll worship You passionately and bring to You my sacrifice of praise, drenched with thanksgiving!

Psalm 116:19 TPT

I will worship You here in Your Living Presence, in the temple in Jerusalem. I will worship and sing hallelujah, for I praise You, Lord!

Psalm 138:1 TPT

I thank You, Lord, and with all the passion of my heart I worship You in the presence of angels! Heaven’s mighty ones will hear my voice as I sing my Loving praise to You. 

You cannot get near to GOD without thanksgiving and praise.  By thanksgiving, we acknowledge GOD’S goodness.  By praise, we acknowledge GOD’S greatness.  By worship, we acknowledge GOD’S Holiness.

Worship, which is the highest activity of the human soul, relates us to the Holiness of GOD.

Is your worship replaced by worry?

According to Scripture, our day begins at night so if you are worried as you go to bed, your next day will often be challenging.  As we set our affection on Christ when we go to bed, our sleep will be blessed.  If I wake up in the middle of the night, I will focus my affection on Christ and return to sleep.  Let us not succumb to fear, worry, anxiety, or doubt.

Being a worshipper is what positions me to pray effectively.

Complaining is prayer in reverse.  Complaining actually reveals that I’m losing the battle over my thoughts.  Complaining, criticism, or resentment all reveal losing the battle over my thought life.  Did Jesus ever complain?

 Paul wrote by The Holy Spirit in Philippians chapter 4:

4 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!

5 Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.

6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;

7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

If you are gripped in worry, rejoice in THE LORD.  As you worship THE LORD, your anxiety will diminish. 

8 Keep your thoughts continually fixed on all that is authentic and real, honorable and admirable, beautiful and respectful, pure and Holy, merciful and kind. And fasten your thoughts on every glorious work of God, praising Him always.

Paul also wrote by The Holy Spirit in 1^st Thessalonians chapter 5:

16 Rejoice always,

17 pray without ceasing,

18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

19 Never restrain or put out the fire of the Holy Spirit.

In other Words, let joy be your continual feast.  Make your life a prayer.  And in the midst of everything be always giving thanks, for this is God’s perfect plan for you in Christ Jesus.

Any situation I cannot rejoice in or give thanks in; I am losing the battle over my thoughts. 

The devil masquerades himself as an angel of light (2^nd Corinthians 11:14).  An offense will come into a person’s life because they think they’re functioning in discernment.  The enemy attempts to sneak something into our heart that actually works opposite of what The Holy Spirit is saying.  This angel of light promotes complaining, criticism, resentment, worry, thus removing the peace of GOD in our hearts.

What rejoicing and thanksgiving do is that they completely dismantle that mindset.  They expose the root system that the enemy has used to persuade to buy into a lie.  Worrying is a symptom of the issue.

Jesus addressed worry as He spoke in Matthew chapter 6:

25 “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?

26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?

27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?

28 “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin;

29 and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

30 Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’

32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your Heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.

33 But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

Rejoicing and thankfulness are absolute pure expressions of faith!

Give us today tomorrow’s bread!

Most of us have quoted The Model Prayer (aka The Lord’s Prayer) numerous times throughout our lives.

Jesus spoke in Matthew chapter 6:

5 “And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward.

6 But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.

7 And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words.

8 “Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.

9 In this manner, therefore, pray:

Our Father in Heaven, Hallowed be Your Name.

10 Your Kingdom come.

Your Will be done On earth as it is in Heaven.

11 Give us this day our daily bread.

12 And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors.

13 And do not lead us into temptation,

But deliver us from the evil one.

For Yours is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

We are not to use vain repetitions.  We are not trying to convince FATHER to meet our needs, He already knows our needs before we ask, we are simply to pray daily for HIM to meet our needs in advance.  Notice that Jesus uses the terms “Our Father” and “Give us”, not “My Father” and “Give me”.  This prayer is intended for all believers, not just me and my family and no more. 

Sometimes our prayers are token prayers to make us feel better about responding to a crisis and they’re not necessarily prayers to make a difference.  The Lord has called us and positioned us to make a difference in our co-laboring relationship through prayer.

One of the greatest mysteries in the Bible is the fact that we were designed to co-labor with GOD!

Once you grasp this Truth, your prayer life will change for you are vital in bringing forth The Kingdom of GOD to the earth.  A prayer is one of those moments where we see it the clearest. 

You and I were designed to be alive at this moment in time.

In the Book of Esther, the Jews were to be annihilated by a decree of the king.  Yes, GOD could have intervened on HIS own but HE co-labors with men and women.  To keep the Jews from perishing, Esther was called to pray in order to be acceptable before the king and intervene on behalf of all Jews.

It is recorded by The Holy Spirit in Esther chapter 4:

10 Then Esther spoke to Hathach, and gave him a command for Mordecai:

11 “All the king’s servants and the people of the king’s provinces know that any man or woman who goes into the inner court to the king, who has not been called, he has but one law: put all to death, except the one to whom the king holds out the golden scepter, that he may live. Yet I myself have not been called to go in to the king these thirty days.”

12 So they told Mordecai Esther’s words.

13 And Mordecai told them to answer Esther: “Do not think in your heart that you will escape in the king’s palace any more than all the other Jews.

14 For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”

15 Then Esther told them to reply to Mordecai:

16 “Go, gather all the Jews who are present in Shushan, and fast for me; neither eat nor drink for three days, night or day. My maids and I will fast likewise. And so I will go to the king, which is against the law; and if I perish, I perish!”

17 So Mordecai went his way and did according to all that Esther commanded him.

Prayer is an essential part of our lives in receiving our needs from FATHER.
