Have you ever betrayed the confidence of another person by failing to keep an oath of secrecy?
Have you ever misused resources given for you to oversee?
Have you ever been deceptive?
Have you ever compromised you commitment to another?
I would suggest that we all are guilty of the above and have needed to repent many times. The ramification of your action is not the issue here, it is the intent. A “white” lie is still a lie. The root of this type of behavior has the ego at its source and until we are led by The Spirit, we will have to be ever vigilant concerning the deceptions of the flesh.
Those in charge of the current system view their actions as necessary to keep the status quo even though their actions are outright lawless in nature. Their actions are focused on improving the relative position among their peers and are willing to sacrifice others for their personal agendas. What is the solution? Love.
When you walk according to your ego, you feed the cravings of the soul or flesh depending on which presents a stronger demand at the time. Your mind rationalizes why it is okay to be deceptive and betray Love in order that the lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, and/or pride of life be fulfilled. The sad reality is that lust and pride are never fulfilled but instead only require more and to a greater degree.
Hebrews 13:5 Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
Greed is the root of all evil and as we overcome the world and realize that Our Heavenly Father’s Love includes HIS faithfulness to supply our needs, we will conduct ourselves in a Loving manner. We will no longer manipulate the circumstances because of some previous lack in our lives. HIS Love fills the void and removes the craving of the flesh. As those cravings are removed by Love’s presence, you will find you no longer need to deceive others in any manner.
FATHER’S faithfulness is unwavering and Who better to commit to you than the Creator of the universe! Each of us can cite examples of apparent lack in our past but we must allow FATHER to show us the necessity of those past experiences required for our maturing process. As we pursue HIS Divine Intent of Love, we will begin to see the big picture unfold before our very eyes.
3 John 2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.
The above Scripture was referenced heavily in the Faith movement in past decades for it contained the solution to many problems in the area of health and finances. In the area of finances betrayal, fraud, treachery, and deceit are all alive and well in the current system. It is becoming increasingly difficult to find righteous dealings among businessmen. In growing up, your word was your bond. Nowadays, you must create a lengthy contract in an attempt to cover all the potential ways the other party can deceive you. If men dealt righteously, the legal profession would be much smaller than it is today.
3 John 2 begins with the word “Beloved” thus it sets the condition for the rest of the passage. It would be appropriate to expand this verse to say “For those of you who walk and follow the path of Divine Love, I pray, believe, and expect you to prosper and have sufficiency in all aspects of life and for your body to function according to its Divine Intent and design, and for your soul to be a blessing to you as it serves your spiritual walk of Love”.
As we pursue this path of Love, we will see doors open up to us and our bodies respond accordingly. Betrayal, fraud, treachery, nor deceit will be found among us. Our word will be our bond just as FATHER’S Word is HIS unwavering commitment to us. As we truly rely on HIM for our being, we will be able to say with great confidence:
Hebrews 13:6 So we may boldly say:
“The LORD is my helper;
I will not fear.
What can man do to me?
