His Manifested Presence and Glory

Jesus let us know what was in His heart for He prayed the following to FATHER:

John 17:22 And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one:

Glory Is splendor, brightness, and majesty, an exalted state above the natural.  Jesus prayed that we may be one with FATHER, Him, and each other.  Does His prayer denote a limitation?  Is it meant that this prayer is restrictive in nature or does it embrace all realms?  I believe there are no restrictions to what Jesus is praying here and we should expect to “see” the glory of His Presence not only in the spiritual realm but also in the lower realm of the physical.  Jesus further prayed:

23  I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.

It is Jesus’ prayer that we made be made perfect in one in Love.  Does Love restrict itself from the physical?  I think not.  Does Jesus desire to make Himself expressly known to men in the physical?

In Mark chapter 9, Peter, James, and John went up the mountain with Jesus and they saw Elijah and Moses:

4  And there appeared unto them Elias with Moses: and they were talking with Jesus.

Two men from the past were speaking to Jesus Who is in the flesh.  Their appearance was not necessary to deal with unbelief, issues of faith, or any other weakness in Jesus.  It was Divinely ordained and provided increased understanding to Peter, James, and John.  What is the point?  We should not restrict our expectation of FATHER’S Desire and Intent to make HIMSELF known to us.

Let us continue in Jesus prayer to FATHER:

24 “Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.

If you were able to set an expectation to “behold HIS Glory” what would be included in that expectation?  What would be excluded?  The Song of Songs is about the longing of the Shulamite being in the presence of Her Beloved.  But just as important, it is the longing and intense desire of the Beloved to make Himself known and in the presence of HIS Love, the Shulamite.

When I fell in Love with my wife, I wanted to be in her presence every day, not have some long distance relationship.  I wanted a relationship without restriction.  It was about experiencing life together whatever the circumstance.  Is it any different with the intense Love Jesus has for you and me?  Do you think He wants a long distance relationship or one that is unrestricted?  What about FATHER?  HE wants an intimate relationship with each of us without hindrance.  HIS Love awaits our desire to be fully with HIM and will not move beyond our choice to keep a distance due to guilt, unworthiness, or some other carnal reason for separation.

FATHER open our eyes that we may behold Your Manifested Presence and Glory!  Let there be no restrictions to our relationship in any realm.  Let not my weakness prevent Your Manifested Presence but let YOUR Love overtake me.  Amen!
