The tabernacle in the wilderness provides us with insight about our relationship with Our Heavenly Father. In Exodus chapter 25 the LORD spoke to Moses, saying:
9 “According to all that I show you, that is, the pattern of the tabernacle and the pattern of all its furnishings, just so you shall make it.”
FATHER gave Moses very specific instructions on the design and structure of the tabernacle. There was no question that the artisans were to pay close attention to every detail given to Moses by FATHER. Nothing would be left for interpretation by man. Each detail would provide the children of Israel some form of instruction to be remembered in their relationship with FATHER thus the tabernacle would effectively serve to instruct the people.
In Exodus chapter 26 FATHER instructed Moses concerning the entrance to the tabernacle:
1 “Moreover you shall make the tabernacle with ten curtains of fine woven linen and blue, purple, and scarlet thread; with artistic designs of cherubim you shall weave them.”
And instruction concerning the veil which separated the Holy Place from the Holy of Holies:
31 “You shall make a veil woven of blue, purple, and scarlet thread, and fine woven linen. It shall be woven with an artistic design of cherubim.
When entering the Holy Place from the courtyard the priest would see a two dimensional representation of the cherubim. This was also true as the high priest would approach the veil separating the Holy of Holies from the Holy Place. However, once you entered the Holy of Holies, things changed. In Exodus chapter 25 FATHER describes the ark of the Testimony:
17 “You shall make a mercy seat of pure gold; two and a half cubits shall be its length and a cubit and a half its width.
18 And you shall make two cherubim of gold; of hammered work you shall make them at the two ends of the mercy seat.
19 Make one cherub at one end, and the other cherub at the other end; you shall make the cherubim at the two ends of it of one piece with the mercy seat.
20 And the cherubim shall stretch out their wings above, covering the mercy seat with their wings, and they shall face one another; the faces of the cherubim shall be toward the mercy seat.
21 You shall put the mercy seat on top of the ark, and in the ark you shall put the Testimony that I will give you.
22 And there I will meet with you, and I will speak with you from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim which are on the ark of the Testimony, about everything which I will give you in commandment to the children of Israel.”
Once you enter into the Holy of Holies, you will see the three dimensional representation of the cherubim. This signifies moving into a higher dimension in our relationship with FATHER. As we take steps to get closer to FATHER, we will proceed to a higher and more intimate relationship with HIM. Once we pass through the veil and into HIS presence, we can expect to see a change in ourselves and our priorities. We no longer are interested in what the world has to offer nor are we inclined to entertain anything which would distract us from our closeness with FATHER.
The precious blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ has allowed us to enter into the Holy of Holies and in the presence of FATHER. It is good to get instruction from men and women who are called to teach but we must not settle for the “two dimensional” teaching when we have the opportunity to be in FATHER’S presence ourselves. Entering into the “three dimensional” place is not easy in that it requires our full commitment to Love and purity. Not everyone will make that commitment but there are those who will press in and experience this deeper level of relationship with FATHER. It is HIS desire that we move in that direction and enjoy this higher level of communion. Love promotes unity and unity is achieved as we move closer to HIM.
