Fear of THE LORD: Part 2

The Fear of GOD is awe and reverence toward GOD, the Creator of Heaven and earth.  It is written in Psalm 115 by The Holy Spirit:

11 You who Fear the LORD, trust in the LORD;

HE is their help and their shield.

12 The LORD has been mindful of us;

HE will bless us;

HE will bless the house of Israel;

HE will bless the house of Aaron.

13 HE will bless those who Fear the LORD,

Both small and great.

There is great blessing attached to walking in the Fear of THE LORD.  Why would anybody in their right mind fail to pursue this walk?  Why would they choose scarcity rather than blessing from ON HIGH?  Fearing GOD is trusting GOD.

“Both small and great” includes you and me!

Peter wrote by The Holy Spirit in his 1st Epistle chapter 5:

6 If you bow low in God’s awesome Presence, HE will eventually exalt you as you leave the timing in his hands.

7 Pour out all your worries and stress upon HIM and leave them there, for HE always tenderly cares for you.

As we fully trust FATHER, HE will deal with and resolve those cares which rise up before us.  We can live a stress-free life once we fully trust FATHER and walk in the Fear of THE LORD.

If there is one thing (of many) I had to learn, it was to submit and respect HIS timing.  This required patience on my part and to no longer take things into my hands.  This required me to develop my sensitivity to hearing The Holy Spirit in all matters.

God resists you when you are proud but multiplies grace and favor when you are humble.  The word “humble” is defined as: Lowly; modest; meek; submissive; opposed to proud, haughty, arrogant or assuming. In an evangelical sense, having a low opinion of one’s self, and a deep sense of unworthiness in the sight of God.

If you are trying to bear the burden of fixing everything on your own, you don’t Fear GOD.  When we cast our burdens on HIM, we are acknowledging HIS ability and willingness to resolve our “unresolved” issues.  This allows us to sleep soundly in the midst of chaos and turmoil.  Jesus had no problem sleeping in the boat.  Paul and Peter had no problem sleeping in prison.

Wisdom wrote in Proverbs chapter 3:

5  Trust in the Lord completely,

and do not rely on your own opinions.

With all your heart rely on HIM to guide you,

and HE will lead you in every decision you make.

6 Become intimate with HIM in whatever you do,

and HE will lead you wherever you go.

I purpose to no longer have an opinion about what is going on in the world.  I seek to replace opinion with revelation given to me by The Holy Spirit.  Apart from The Holy Spirit, I only have partial facts and perspective which may contain deception.  Why should I spend any time on a potentially flawed opinion?  I would rather focus on the Fear of THE LORD and trusting HIM to fill my thought life with Truth.  If you are leaning to your own understanding and opinions, you are not trusting FATHER.

 7 Don’t think for a moment that you know it all,

for Wisdom comes when you adore HIM with undivided devotion

and avoid everything that’s wrong (Fear the LORD and depart from evil).

8 Then you will find the healing refreshment

your body and spirit long for.

If FATHER told you to do or say something and you are not responding, you are not trusting in HIM.  This occurs often in giving whether it concerns our tithes and offerings or giving directly to others in need.  Your mind can talk you out of giving if you will allow it.

I speak from experience.  In response to “self”, I will resist it and quickly respond in obedience to FATHER.  Peace then floods my soul and overcomes that scarcity mentality that wants to withhold blessings to others.  Plain and simple, it is sin if FATHER tells you to do something and you don’t do it.

In Luke chapter 1 by The Holy Spirit, Luke recorded Mary speaking the following:

46 And Mary said:

“My soul magnifies the Lord,

47 And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.

48 For He has regarded the lowly state of His maidservant;

For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed.

49 For He who is mighty has done great things for me,

And holy is His name.

50 And His mercy is on those who Fear HIM

From generation to generation.”

Mary had the revelation of the Fear of THE LORD thus she was prepared to submit to her destiny.  The fulfillment of our destiny is closely tied to the Fear of THE LORD.  Let us not come up short in this area. Mary didn’t and neither should we!
