In Matthew chapter 5, Jesus spoke:
14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.
15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”
We have extremely good news for a world that is growing darker day by day. FATHER is still on the Throne and we need to convey HIS Love to the world through whatever manner is available to us. Technology has provided us one such avenue but “one on one” is still the most effective way. Men and women need the human contact to fully embrace FATHER’S Love for them.
Many of the brethren have spent years studying and researching every nook and cranny of the Word. Some have acquired large libraries of Christian books and associated reference tools. In some cases it has become somewhat of an obsession to find the next hidden mystery and report to whomever. I say to you it is time to graduate from school and get out there and do something for the rest of mankind. After all, Jesus did not say to go into all the libraries and find the latest books about Him.
We need to change people’s lives for the better. That is what Love does. We need to be Love in the eyes of those searching for meaning. Self-absorbing activities simply delay your mandate to be a light unto all the world.
Actions speak louder than words. Yes, you should share the Gospel but you should also be an example of HIS Love. Help others out without expecting anything in return. There are a number of things you can do if you will simply look around. Jesus put it this way:
Matthew 25:32 All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats.
33 And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left.
34 Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
35 for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in;
36 I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’
Don’t get me wrong, I am not against studying, fellowshipping, and other such activities that promote greater maturity and unity but at some point it is time to “be Love” rather than just studying about it and other topics. We are called to go into the world, not sit on the couch surfing the TV channels or Internet all night. There is plenty of need out there if you will simply look around.
If I have stirred up your spirit to do something, just do it! You can start by sending a blind email of this link to encourage others to let their light shine brighter. There is plenty of need out there and we are the personal representatives of The Kingdom. Let our lights shine forth!
