The Second Seal: The Red Horse

The revelation or unveiling of Jesus Christ continues to unfold with the second seal being broken:

Revelation 6:3 When He opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, “Come.”

4 Another horse, fiery red, went out. And it was granted to the one who sat on it to take peace from the earth, and that people should kill one another; and there was given to him a great sword.

This horse of speed and strength is described as the color of fire.  This is the purging, purification phase where anything that is unfruitful in our lives will be burned up.  We will be cleansed of those impurities in the deep recesses of our being.  Nothing will be left to chance before we are commissioned in His army and operate at the fullness of our specific callings.  Failure will not be in our vocabulary and people will see and benefit from the fullness of Christ ministering before their very eyes.  There will be no more compromise or self-motivating actions passing themselves off as “called” of GOD.  The false prophecies shall cease being accepted in blind faith.  Isaiah 33 describes those who have been processed by the All Consuming Fire:

15 Those who are honest and fair,

who refuse to profit by fraud,

who stay far away from bribes,

who refuse to listen to those who plot murder,

who shut their eyes to all enticement to do wrong—

16 these are the ones who will dwell on high.

The rocks of the mountains will be their fortress.

Food will be supplied to them,

and they will have water in abundance.  NLT

The Flaming Fire must be done swiftly and with great strength, hence the red horse is depicted in the second aspect of the revealing.  What happens to us once we are fully prepared by Him?  We too have been given charge to ride in the same sense as He rides through “Our land” and Joel 2 verse 5 describes us in this setting:

With a noise like chariots
Over mountaintops they leap,
Like the noise of a flaming fire that devours the stubble,
Like a strong people set in battle array.

A refiner’s fire is focused on 100% purity of the metal being prepared for us.  Pure gold represents Divine Life and it is virtually translucent when totally pure.  There is nothing hidden from the eye.  We must become an open book as we are perfected in Christ.  Only those with a pure heart shall “see” GOD and will be found acceptable to minister in His army of saints.  Bring on the fire!  With a loud and mighty voice, proclaim “Come!”.  Self must die.

How long will this process take?  Only FATHER knows.  The Pachal Lamb cycle for preparing the sacrificial lamb for Passover lasted 532 days or 7 x 76 days.  76 is the number of cleansing and Spiritual maturity or perfection is represented throughout Scripture by the number 7.  This cycle was instituted to insure the lamb was without spot so that it would be acceptable to  GOD.  Psalms 12 speaks of this cleansing process:

6  The words of the LORD are pure words,
Like silver tried in a furnace of earth,
Purified seven times.

In the Book of Daniel there were the three young Hebrew men who would not compromise their callings and  refused to bow down to a graven image of Nebuchadnezzar by the world.  They were Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego.  Because of their full commitment to THE LORD, they were subjected to Babylon’s judgment.  In Daniel 3 the king is furious with these three and commands the furnace to be heated up seven times greater:

19 Then Nebuchadnezzar was full of fury, and the expression on his face changed toward Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego. He spoke and commanded that they heat the furnace seven times more than it was usually heated.

Little did the king know that he actually perfected these young men and what was the result?  A fourth man appeared in the fiery furnace:

24 Then King Nebuchadnezzar was astonished; and he rose in haste and spoke, saying to his counselors, “Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire?”

They answered and said to the king, “True, O king.”

25 “Look!” he answered, “I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.”

Jesus will lead us through the full cleansing by fire in order that we may come out on the other side fully qualified to take up our ministry in His Body as one of the priests in the Order of Melchizedek.  This refining will function to fully separate the pure from the impure.  His great sword is the Word and it will do the separating or dividing in us.  “Self” will have no peace as this process will root out all aspects of its hold on us.  There will be no peace or safety proclaimed any longer by this “self” nature.  We will no longer be satisfied with spending time, energy, and resources to be entertained as an “anesthesia” to dull the pain of chronic problems, unrighteousness and lawlessness rising up in the flesh.  Jesus reveals the fact that He is the Rider of the red horse:

Matthew 10:34 “Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword.”

Trials, tests, and tribulation come but instead of praying for FATHER to remove them, we must instead pray that HE reveals the path through them and reveal the Wisdom from Above to properly navigate the path to success.  Our faith is perfected in these times of testing.  Those who are called, chosen, and faithful will experience this level of purification.  Don’t worry about those living the apparent “good life”.  Their peace in their earth will be turned upside down when the final battle is waged and won.  Their restoration and reconciliation will simply arrive later in the biggest of pictures.  In the meantime, the tares will grow with the wheat until harvest.

The battle is between our two natures.  One is being conquered into full submission.  Paul spoke of the  two wills or the two “I’s” in Romans.  The occupiers of Our Promised Land must be driven out and the fire of the red horse is fully qualified to cleanse the land.  This will surely not be a time of peace.  After the cleansing we are prepared to ascend onto our horse and receive our commissioning.  Joshua experienced this “commissioning” as he was proceeding to war:

Joshua 5:

4 So He said, “No, but as Commander of the army of the LORD I have now come.”

And Joshua fell on his face to the earth and worshiped, and said to Him, “What does my Lord say to His servant?”

15 Then the Commander of the LORD’s army said to Joshua, “Take your sandal off your foot, for the place where you stand is holy.” And Joshua did so.

There is not enough room for the two types of occupants to live in your land.  One will live and the other must die.  Paul focuses on this reality in Romans 8:

13 For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

The red horse cometh.
