If there is anything that consistently occurs, it is a challenge to revelation from Above. You can be sure that when Our Heavenly Father gives you a revelation, resistance to that revelation will come. It typically focuses on the weakest aspect of your life. Jesus provided an excellent example. When His ministry began, He was baptized and Our Heavenly Father immediately spoke:
Matthew 3:17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
Revelation is a communication from Above. When Our Heavenly Father speaks to you, HE reveals something. In the case HE told the world that Jesus is HIS Beloved Son. His ministry was based on this being revealed, it marked the beginning.
Matthew 4:1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
The first thing to happen after the revelation was given, Jesus was to be tested. The supreme test was to become weak in the flesh then to see if the revelation would be acted upon or compromised. As we know Jesus was tempted by the devil with use of his power to fulfill the flesh and ego. In response, Jesus spoke the Word from Above, not submitting to the adversary’s attempt to compromise the revelation. This was the test of a mature Son.
What is your weak area? Finances, flesh, pride, past addictions, children, insecurities? Look back at when you received a major life-changing revelation to see what was the primary area of temptation. As we mature as Sons of the Most High GOD, we should expect the temptations to come. Half of the battle is identifying these temptations as tests to our commitment to walk out the revelation from Above. The other half of the battle is to stand fast in faith that you have been given the necessary grace during those times of testing. As we mature we will no longer be intimidated by the adversary’s methods for they will be exposed to the Truth and the light. We will no longer be tossed to and fro but will stand on the Revealed Word of Our Heavenly Father. We will patiently endure the temptations as overcomers. We will enjoy the personal satisfaction of obtaining victory over the flesh. Our path toward the fullness of Christ will remain intact.
