Called to be fruitful

John 15:1 “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.

2 Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away;  and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.

3 You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.

4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me

Jesus called us to be fruitful for the Kingdom.  There is no way around that mandate.  Just as Ephraim (I shall be doubly fruitful) the son of Joseph was given the mandate to bring forth fruit, we are also to bring for the fruit.  It is important to note the we must be pruned so that we will bring forth more fruit.  Pruning is necessary to cut away the dead from the living.  The dead impedes the living from bringing forth much fruit.  The old man must be pruned away if we are to expect the maximum harvest in the age of Tabernacles.

The other aspect of the above passage is the branch that does not bear fruit.  This branch will be removed from the vine altogether.  This is truly disappointing.  It tells us that there are those who were receiving life from  Our Lord Jesus Christ but were unwilling to bear fruit.  They would not rule over their fleshly man thus causing them to be removed from the vine totally.  This is serious and we must take heed.

The ultimate goal is for us to bear maximum fruit for the Kingdom.  Our Heavenly Father trains us up to be fully mature sons.  A fully mature son knows His FATHER’s will, plan, and purpose.  The son knows THE FATHER’S heart and character and seeks to do HIS will.  He understands the motive behind every action of THE FATHER.  His maturity grows until he walks in the same footsteps.  David was a man after GOD’S own heart.  David understood the Love of THE FATHER.  We must also embrace the revelation of this same Love.  How can you embrace it if you never study and immerse yourself in this most primary characteristic?

We are called to produce a hundredfold of fruit.  Some are satisfied with thirtyfold, others with sixtyfold, but there are those who want to be fully mature and produce the maximum for the Kingdom.  I believe those are who will not be denied the fullness of the Kingdom.  Those are the ones who go on to become fully matured Sons of GOD.  They will embrace the pruning once they understand the necessity to be pruned.  They will allow their doctrine to be shattered so that don’t spend another minute at a lower level of understanding.  They will not meander in the wilderness and build a permanent dwelling there.  They seek out the promises given to them by Our Heavenly Father.

As we abide in the fullness of the revelation of Jesus Christ, He will make the statement “I in you”.  We will then produce the same fruit as our elder Brother.  Men will see our fruit and know that our words are true.  The Kingdom will spread throughout the earth.  Thy Kingdom come!
