Hearing And Trusting IN HIM

What is the one thing to desire?

Above all, what is your number one priority?

David recorded by The Holy Spirit in Psalm chapter 27:

4 One thing I have desired of the LORD, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD All the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the LORD, And to inquire in His temple.

In FATHER’S Presence, there is no sickness or disease.  There is no bondage of any type because we are set free in all areas.  There is no lack or famine.  I hunger for HIS ongoing Presence in my life.

Jesus spoke in Matthew chapter 5:

6 “How enriched you are when you crave righteousness! For you will be satisfied.”

8 “What bliss you experience when your heart is pure! For then your eyes will open to see more and more of God.

O FATHER, cleanse our hearts in all areas by Your Word and Your Spirit that we may be fully satisfied!  Let us be found trustworthy to fully serve You in all areas of our life… we fully submit to Your spoken and written Word.

Trust IN HIM is key to our continued path toward maturity.  In order to fully trust GOD, we must be able to hear HIM.

Jesus spoke this Truth to the adversary in Matthew chapter 4:

4 Jesus answered, “The Scriptures say: Bread alone will not satisfy, but True Life is found in every Word that constantly goes forth from God’s Mouth.”

Hearing and responding to HIS Word develops and reinforces trust IN HIM and produces good fruit in our lives, even when there is a famine in the land.

Moses recorded by The Holy Spirit in Genesis chapter 26:

1 There was a famine in the land, besides the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went to Abimelech king of the Philistines, in Gerar.

2 Then the LORD appeared to him and said: “Do not go down to Egypt; live in the land of which I shall tell you.

3 Dwell in this land, and I will be with you and bless you; for to you and your descendants I give all these lands, and I will perform the oath which I swore to Abraham your father.

4 And I will make your descendants multiply as the stars of heaven; I will give to your descendants all these lands; and in your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed;

5 because Abraham obeyed My Voice and kept My charge, My commandments, My statutes, and My laws (torah).”

GOD did not cancel the first famine in the land; HE sustained and blessed Abraham throughout the famine.  Instead, HE blessed Abraham.  How and why?  It was because Abraham was faithful to HIM. He listened to HIS Voice and yielded his heart to follow GOD’S direction. He kept HIS commandments, instructions, and teachings.

The laws of Moses for Israel had not yet been given.  Abraham had no Bible; therefore, he depended on hearing Yahweh’s Voice and followed his revelation in all its forms.  Yahweh commended him for his faithfulness to HIS Word.  The universe of meaning for the Hebrew word torah includes direction, instruction, rules, etc.

How did Isaac respond?  He stayed where he was at.

6  So Isaac dwelt in Gerar.

In response to the Spoken Word of THE LORD:

12 Then Isaac sowed in that land, and reaped in the same year a hundredfold; and the LORD blessed him.

13 The man began to prosper, and continued prospering until he became very prosperous;

Isaac was not moved by what he saw in the land, he responded and trusted in GOD’S Word, and prospered greatly.  As we focus our attention on hearing FATHER’S Word, we will not only survive in an adverse environment, we will thrive.
