Two Types Of Prayer

There are two types of prayer: transactional and transformational!

Jesus often prayed at night and alone.  What did He pray?  Was He constantly petitioning THE FATHER for some need?  Or, was He exalting HIS FATHER in all areas bringing forth FATHER’S Presence for instructions required for upcoming encounters?

A transactional prayer is a petition that primarily focuses on my needs.  It emphasizes “I”, “me”, or “mine”.  A transformational prayer emphasizes Who HE is and exalts HIM.  It focuses on the magnification and enlargement of OUR HEAVENLY FATHER in our life.  This type of prayer is centered around worshipping HIM.

True worship transforms us over time.  It feeds our soul with Heavenly food that will sustain us in every situation.  It changes our mindset, our perspective.

It is written by The Holy Spirit in Psalm chapter 42:

11 Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; For I shall yet praise Him, The help of my countenance and my God.

Our soul is where the battle resides.  What we feed our soul will determine our mindset resulting in words and actions reflecting that mindset.

Prayer is understood as communication with God, a two-way conversation involving both speaking to God and listening for His response. It’s not just about asking for things; it’s about building a relationship with God, expressing praise, seeking forgiveness, and offering thanks. Prayer is seen as essential for Christian life, a way to align one’s heart and will with God’s Will.

How do I develop a closer relationship with FATHER?

Jesus spoke in John chapter 14:

10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The Words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father Who dwells in Me does the works.

11 Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves.

12 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.

Jesus was and is in constant communion with Our Heavenly Father.  How do I get to that level of maturity?

Enoch walked with GOD and then was translated.  What was his secret?  Moses recorded by The Holy Spirit in Genesis chapter 4:

26 After many years Seth had a son named Enoch. During his lifetime, people began to worship YAHWEH and pray to Him.

Enoch worshipped YAHWEH and communed with HIM.  Enoch worshipped HIM for Who HE is and causes to be.  Be assured, FATHER desires to commune with you and me.

In chapter 5:

23-24 Enoch and God walked together as intimate friends; then God took him to Himself, and he was seen no more. The life span of Enoch was three hundred and sixty-five years.

The name “Enoch” means dedicated from the root meaning to train up, to dedicate.  Enoch worshipped GOD and that resulted in an intimate relationship with HIM.  That is what I am seeking, and I trust that you are too!

It is recorded by The Holy Spirit in Psalm chapter 73:

28 But it is good for me to draw near to God; I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, That I may declare all Your works.

We draw near to HIM through worship and declaring HIS works with our lips.  Our soul hears such declarations and is fed and cleansed with HIS Word.  Confessing Who HE is with our lips, brings our soul into alignment with our spirit.  The result will be an intimate walk with GOD.  Worshipping HIM is the key!
