Expect Opposition

All who live righteously will suffer persecution!

Paul wrote by The Holy Spirit in 2nd Timothy chapter 3:

10 But you have carefully followed my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, Love, perseverance,

11 persecutions, afflictions, which happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra-what persecutions I endured. And out of them all the Lord delivered me.

12 Yes, and all who desire to live Godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.

13 But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.

Both righteousness and ungodliness will increase.  The ungodly will persecute us because our light exposes their darkness, and we make them feel uncomfortable.  They will attempt to deceive those who are susceptible to such false narratives.  You and I must be unwilling to submit to such deceptions.

16 God has transmitted His very substance into every Scripture, for it is God-breathed. It will empower you by Its instruction and correction, giving you the strength to take the right direction and lead you deeper into the path of Godliness. 17 Then you will be God’s servant, fully mature and perfectly prepared to fulfill any assignment God gives you.

Our trust must be on both the written Word of GOD as well as the spoken Word of GOD.  HIS power and authority are contained in every Word.

Jesus is perfect and He suffered persecution thus we should expect the same as we live righteously.  There is conflict and opposition from those who are ungodly.

Paul provides us with a list:

1 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come:

2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,

5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!

6 For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts,

7 always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

8 Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the Truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith;

9 but they will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all, as theirs also was.

We must heed the Words given to us by The Holy Spirit.  Our focus must be on spiritual maturity so that we can handle the fiery darts of the devil.  He will look for any weakness in us to exploit.  We must focus daily on The Word so that we fulfill the prayer given to us by The Holy Spirit, written by Paul in Colossians chapter 1:

9 For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His Will in all Wisdom and Spiritual understanding;

10 that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;

11 strengthened with all might, according to His Glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy;

12 giving thanks to the Father Who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light.

13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His Love,

14 in Whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.

Are you willing to sacrifice all for Him along with persecution?

Jesus spoke in Mark chapter 10:

29 “Listen to my Words,” Jesus said. “Anyone who leaves his home behind and chooses Me over children, parents, family, and possessions, all for the sake of the gospel,

30 it will come back to him a hundred times as much in this lifetime—homes, family, mothers, brothers, sisters, children, possessions—along with persecutions. And in the age to come, he will inherit Eternal life.

31 But many who are considered to be the most important now will be the least important then. And many who are viewed as the least important now will be considered the most important then.”

The will be opposition to your progress… count on it.
