Sozo

Healing is an expression of God’s Holiness and was always intended to be part of salvation!

Sickness is to our bodies what sin is to our souls, and Jesus came to redeem us from both. It is FATHER’S Will for us to press in for miracles and complete freedom for ourselves and others as we represent Christ on earth.

Mark recorded by The Holy Spirit in Mark chapter 2:

1 And again Jesus entered Capernaum after some days, and it was heard that He was in the house.

2 Immediately many gathered together, so that there was no longer room to receive them, not even near the door. And He preached the Word to them.

3 Then they came to Him, bringing a paralytic who was carried by four men.

4 And when they could not come near Him because of the crowd, they uncovered the roof where He was. So when they had broken through, they let down the bed on which the paralytic was lying.

5 When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven you.”

6 And some of the scribes were sitting there and reasoning in their hearts,

7 “Why does this Man speak blasphemies like this? Who can forgive sins but God alone?”

8 But immediately, when Jesus perceived in His Spirit that they reasoned thus within themselves, He said to them, “Why do you reason about these things in your hearts?

9 Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Arise, take up your bed and walk’?

10 But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins”-He said to the paralytic,

11 “I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.”

12 Immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went out in the presence of them all, so that all were amazed and glorified God, saying, “We never saw anything like this!”

Jesus connected forgiveness of sin and healing together.

Matthew recorded by The Holy Spirit what the angel of THE LORD said to Joseph in Matthew chapter 1:

21 And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save (G4982) His people from their sins.”

And in Matthew chapter 9:

20 And suddenly, a woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years came from behind and touched the hem of His garment.

21 For she said to herself, “If only I may touch His garment, I shall be made well (G4982).

22 But Jesus turned around, and when He saw her He said, “Be of good cheer, daughter; your faith has made you well (G4982).” And the woman was made well (G4982) from that hour.

The word sozo (G4982) means: to save, keep safe and sound, to rescue from danger or destruction; one (from injury or peril); to save a suffering one (from perishing), i.e. one suffering from disease, to make well, heal, restore to health

to preserve one who is in danger of destruction, to save or rescue.

Forgiveness of sin and healing of disease are two different parts of the expression of GOD’S redemptive work.  These two aspects of the redemptive work of Christ were never meant to be separated.

Forgiveness, deliverance, and healing are three realms of The Kingdom.

Paul wrote by The Holy Spirit in Romans chapter 14:

17 for the Kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

18 For he who serves Christ in these things is acceptable to God and approved by men.

Righteousness deals with the sin issue, peace deals with the torment issue, and joy because that is the expression of healing.  Both our salvation and healing have already been purchased by Jesus when He went to the cross.  Why wouldn’t we want to receive both?

As I referenced yesterday, it is recorded by The Holy Spirit in Malachi chapter 4:

2 But to you who fear My name The Sun of Righteousness shall arise With healing in His wings (H3671); And you shall go out And grow fat like stall-fed calves.

The word kānāp̄ (H3671) means: wing, extremity, edge, winged, border, corner, shirt; wing; extremity; skirt, corner (of garment).

The woman with the issue of blood, pressed in and touched His kānāp̄ and embraced the healing provided for her.
