We are to fight by Spiritual means!
Paul wrote by The Holy Spirit in 1st Timothy chapter 6:
6 Now godliness with contentment is great gain.
7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. 8 And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content.
9 But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition.
10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
11 But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, Godliness, faith, Love, patience, gentleness.
12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
If you allow yourself to be greedy, you will stray from faith which is required to defeat the devil. We must protect our faith for it is our shield from the adversary’s fiery darts.
James wrote by The Holy Spirit in his Epistle, chapter 4:
7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
In other Words, surrender to God, stand up to the devil and resist him and he will flee in agony. Someone is going to lose in a spiritual battle and the question is, who?
As sanctified believers, we have personal authority over the temples of our bodies. We have God’s authority to forbid or bind what we know is against His will and we have His authority to permit or loose what we know is His will.
Because the devil is a spirit, we can only fight him in the spiritual dimension. Consequently, if we are not cleansed of sin and self, then God’s authority and power will not operate. Only if we are sanctified can we “bind” the enemy in Jesus’ Name and “loose” the strongholds and ask the power of God to come forth.
Jesus spoke in Matthew chapter 16:
15 Jesus said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”
16 Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God.”
17 Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father Who is in Heaven.
18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock (revelation) I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.
19 And I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in Heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in Heaven.”
“Binding” (forbidding and refusing) either the enemy, the flesh, or the world and “loosing” (releasing) their hold on us leads to sanctification; sanctification leads to partaking of His Life; partaking of His Life leads to overcoming the world, the flesh, and the devil; overcoming leads to inheriting; and inheriting leads to ruling and reigning in the future kingdom.
Binding and loosing are not only FATHER’S way of overcoming the world and the flesh, but also a way of personally equipping the believer to overcome and fight the enemy. Revelation provides us the means of dealing with every situation, no matter how it is. Be assured that the devil is the master of subtlety!
