Waiting on THE LORD

Waiting on The Lord means we are surrendered to His Will.

The central purpose of the Christian life is to be totally surrendered to Him so that His Spirit of power can direct our lives.

This will ultimately make us overcomers who will inherit His kingdom. The secret is FATHER’S power freely working through us. It’s the key!

God will give power to the faint and to them that have no might He will increase their strength (Isaiah 40:29). In other words, if we are open and yielded

It is written by THE SPIRIT in Isaiah chapter 40:

29  He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength.

31 But those who wait on THE LORD and entwine their hearts with HIM will experience Divine strength. They will rise up on soaring wings and fly like eagles, run their races without growing weary, and walk through life without giving up (or becoming faint).

The word wait (Strong’s #2442) not only means “to abide and adhere to over time,” it also means “to carve or etch an image into.” In other words, only those who have Christ’s image “carved or etched into them” will be able to renew their strength. Only those who are “conformed into His image” will experience Christ’s empowering.

Paul wrote by The Holy Spirit in Romans chapter 8:

29   For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.

30 Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.

In other Words:

For HE knew all about us before we were born and he destined us from the beginning to share the likeness of His Son. This means the Son is the oldest among a vast family of brothers and sisters who will become just like Him.  Having determined our destiny ahead of time, He called us to himself and transferred His perfect righteousness to everyone He called. And those who possess His perfect righteousness he co-glorified with His Son!

Isaiah 64:4 takes this Truth a little further: “For since the beginning of the world, men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath eye seen, O God, beside Thee, what He hath prepared for him that waiteth for Him.” (For those who have been “conformed into His image” by carving or etching.)

Unlike justification, sanctification is not a free gift and will cost us our life.  Our resulting lifestyle will prove who we are.

Jesus spoke in John chapter 12:

24  Let Me make this clear: A single grain of wheat will never be more than a single grain of wheat unless it drops into the ground and dies. Because then it sprouts and produces a great harvest of wheat—all because one grain died.

25 “The person who loves his life and pampers himself will miss true Life! But the one who detaches his life from this world and abandons himself to Me, will find true Life and enjoy It forever!

26 If you want to be My disciple, follow Me and you will go where I am going. And if you truly follow Me as My disciple, the Father will shower His favor upon your life.

Patience associated with waiting on THE LORD brings forth maturity in the overcomer.

James wrote by The Holy Spirit in his Epistle, chapter 1:

2  My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials,

3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.

4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

I must confess that in the past, I have had challenges associated with patience, that is to say, waiting on THE LORD.  Let us become perfect and complete in all areas!
