{"id":11836,"date":"2025-02-02T05:30:00","date_gmt":"2025-02-02T11:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/servias.org\/?p=11836"},"modified":"2025-01-21T08:31:18","modified_gmt":"2025-01-21T14:31:18","slug":"the-character-and-power-of-the-holy-spirit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/servias.org\/?p=11836","title":{"rendered":"The Character And Power Of The Holy Spirit"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a><em>Do not grieve The Holy Spirit and do not quench The Holy Spirit!<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You and I are meant to be examples to those around us as being led by The Holy Spirit.&nbsp; Paul qualifies this walk by explaining what grieving The Holy Spirit entails.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Paul wrote by The Holy Spirit in Ephesians chapter 4:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">25 So <strong>discard every form of dishonesty and lying<\/strong> so that <strong><u>you will be known as one who always speaks the Truth,<\/u><\/strong> for we all belong to one another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">26 But don\u2019t let the passion of your emotions lead you to sin! <strong>Don\u2019t let anger control you<\/strong> or be fuel for revenge, not for even a day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">27 Don\u2019t give the slanderous accuser, the Devil, an opportunity to manipulate you! 28 <strong>If any one of you has stolen from someone else, never do it again. Instead, be industrious, earning an honest living, and then you\u2019ll have enough to bless those in need.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">29 <strong>And never let ugly or hateful words come from your mouth<\/strong>, but instead let your words become beautiful gifts that encourage others; do this by speaking words of grace to help them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">30 <strong>The Holy Spirit of God has sealed you in Jesus Christ until you experience your full salvation. So <u>never grieve the Spirit of God<\/u> or take for granted his Holy influence in your life<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We grieve Him when we have wrong desires, wrong actions, wrong attitudes, when we participate with the inferior, or when we participate with evil in any way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Paul wrote by The Holy Spirit in 1<sup>st<\/sup> Thessalonians chapter 5:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">19 <strong>Do not quench the Holy Spirit<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In other Words, never restrain or put out the fire of the Holy Spirit.&nbsp; The word <em>quench<\/em> means: to extinguish, of fire or things on fire, to suppress, stifle of Divine influence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You and I have the ability to suppress, stop the flow, the operation of The Holy Spirit in our lives, so don\u2019t!&nbsp; We are to walk in full surrender of The Holy Spirit.&nbsp; In essence, we are to walk in both <em>the character and power<\/em> of The Holy Spirit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus never grieved or quenched The Holy Spirit during His earthly ministry. &nbsp;He lived as a man dependent on God. &nbsp;What was the result?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Beloved Disciple recorded by The Holy Spirit in John chapter 21:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">24 I, John, am that disciple who has written these things to testify of the Truth, and we know that what I\u2019ve documented is accurate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">25 <strong>Jesus did countless things that I haven\u2019t included here. And<\/strong> <strong>if every one of His works were written down and described one by one<\/strong>, I suppose that the world itself wouldn\u2019t have enough room to contain the books that would have to be written!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus expects a similar impact of the New Testament believer.&nbsp; He stated in John chapter 14:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">11 Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">12 &#8220;<strong>Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and <u>greater works than these he will do<\/u>, because I go to My Father.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">13 And whatever you ask in My Name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">14 If you ask anything in My Name, I will do it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">15 &#8220;If you love Me, keep My commandments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">17 the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As we walk in the character and power of The Holy Spirit, we will do the greater works IN HIM and our works will glorify THE FATHER.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Do not grieve The Holy Spirit and do not quench The Holy Spirit!
